I have never been compelled to write a review, but I must tell you that my experience with Camelback Moving has surpassed every expectation that I had in hiring a moving company. My first person I met was Stephanie, she helped me place my order. She asked so many questions about my moving needs, that I really felt a personal concern on her part that I receive exactly what I needed to facilitate my move! She really took the time to put my order together, asked questions about the size of the house I was moving out of, the different kinds of furniture I had, art work I owned as well as the physical set up of the house I was moving out of. How many square feet, how many rooms, helping to estimate how many boxes and to pick the right size truck I would need to move. She also helped me to figure how many movers I would need. About 45 minutes before my movers were scheduled to arrive I received a call from Chad and Alphonso letting me know that they were on there way and that they would arrive on time. They arrived, surveyed my possession's, and like true logistical professionals formulated a plan. Let me tell you these guys worked and worked hard! They took the time to make sure that everything made it on to the truck with care. I truly felt that they moved my possessions as if they were moving their own belongings! And wow did these guys work! I noticed immediately that these guys were all about working smart and efficiently. While at the same time the speed that they filled the truck was impressive. At my new place it was more of the same. They surveyed the layout, formulated a plan and went to work. Smart, efficient, fast yet at the same time carful with each piece they touched. They took the time to ask where I wanted each piece to go. And have I mentioned how hard these guys worked? I was amazed at the time it took them to unload the truck. When they were done I looked over everything and every single item that I owned made the move undamaged and intact! Adding on to my original review. We moved again and got a 2nd crew. They were equally fantastic. Eddie, Chris, and Grafton were like super heroes. They were careful, consistent, very polite (even when I changed where I wanted things). They were so pleasant and courteous and mindful. The training that Camelback Moving must do is beyond excellence. I am moving my Mom with them in 3 days and have complete confidence. Earned all 5 stars, I'd give them 10 if I could! Frank, Danny, Pete were amazing. They arrived and were like the Calvary, they were seasoned, conscientious, professional, friendly, fast, and strong. When I initially emailed asking for a quote they were a little slow to respond, but I'm so glad I picked them for my move. The day of, they called me to let me know they were on their way, and then were about 15 minutes early. They wrapped all my furniture so well, and put everything exactly where I wanted it in my new place without a scratch. Took 5 hours, and they were easily one of the less expensive quotes I received. Camelback Moving was not only competitively priced but they asked detailed, probing questions to best estimate the # of movers and trucks needed. I will get right down to the story. I called Camelback Moving on December12th and spoke with a very nice man who said he would have an agent call me back on Monday because everyone had left the office. Keep in mind I called during business hours. Monday (Dec. 14) comes along and I did not receive a call. I then called on Tuesday, about a half hour before they closed and spoke with the same man who apologized for not having someone call me. He was sincere and again stated that the last person who could talk to me about a moving estimate had left the office. I still received no call back. I then called again around Dec. 21st, even earlier in the day and received a VM with a lady's voice. I left a message and was very clear about my situation and that I had heard good things about their company and would like to speak with someone about a quote for a long distance move. No call back. Finally, I send in a quote request through their web site last night (Dec. 30) basically stating my situation in a nutshell and left comments how I was confused at how they could have such great reviews, yet such poor customer service. The e-mail I received back from Lisa went like this... "As explained to you when you called in last, the long distance is handled through consolidation of loads. We currently have our truck filled going to the bay area, and do not have an ETA on the next available truck at this time. We will keep your information on file, and notify you when space becomes available for your shipment. Our office hours are 8:30 - 6:00pm daily. Please contact us DURING business hours for customer service." I replied to her just to let her know I never spoke with anyone from Camelback Moving last night and that no one ever told me that there were no available trucks for my move. In addition to that she is claiming that my calls were not DURING business hours. How many chances would you give a company that gives you the cold shoulder three different times and when you make a final attempt at giving them your service they give you the type of response I received? read more

Well folks, don't give these guys a bad review, or they will cancel your move. I was prepared to forget about the original mis-communication, and see if the move went better than the scheduling, and reevaluate the rating BUT apparently my original review gave them such a conniption that they called ME to cancel, because of the Yelp review...seriously. **Thank goodness for All My Sons moving, for scheduling me on such short notice, and for giving me the correct information up front (pricier, but worth it).** So, I'm keeping it at 2 stars (because no one died). Sorry Camelback, maybe don't be babies next time? Original Review : They haven't even moved me yet (actually thinking of canceling my reservation) and I'm already annoyed. I called yesterday to book 2 movers and storage at their facility, they gave me all of the information, it sounded great, all sorts of deals, but THEN I got the confirmation email. It was just a standard, formatted email with completely different information than I was given on the phone. And of course I have already put down the 'non-refundable' deposit. So I call back today, get put on hold at least 9 times, get shuffled around to different people, and then find out the lady I spoke to the first day was 'mistaken', and it's going to cost me a great deal more. But guess what?! They will refund my deposit. You freaking better! So, back to square one. read more

The movers were absolutely fantastic! Fast, considerate and professional. After deposit, balance and tip I believe my one bed, one bath was about $300. Considering I could have never done the move alone, definitely worth the price. Why not five stars? Because I fully intended to give five stars.... They erroneously charged my card an additional $591 (it was voided, great...my bank takes a week to show this). I don't know about anyone else, but when I move, I'm generally not flush with cash. I finally decided to be a grown up and hire professionals as compared to my usual asking friends with a truck to give up their day and pay for pizza and beverages. So I started researching. One name kept coming up...Camelback. I called them for a quote and was pleasantly surprised. I called several others and realized there were upcharges for things like packing blankets, clothing wardrobes, stairs, etc. I loved a single trip charge and a flat rate....But that was the quote. I called to make an appointment. the separate insurance was explained to me. The day before my move...there was a glitch in my closing. I called and asked if we could move back my reservation until later in the day. They worked with me and we backed up my window. Toby and Joe Silva showed up at the beginning of the time window. They were the perfect combination of courteous, fast, efficient and thorough. They protected my doorways with packing blankets, provided wardrobe boxes for my hanging items, and put my smaller boxes into their speed pack boxes. I really appreviated the care they exhibited for my belongings and was surprised at how fast they could be while being so careful. After arriving at my new house, they showed the same care. No surprise charges on the end, nothing broken, I'm very happy. I had run into a time issue with my apartment complex and had to delay my move with less than 24 hours notice. The team made the change with no hassle or issues. Net/net...At the end of the day would use the men to move me, but woulnt give a dime to the company. They have not learned that customer service doesn't end when they get paid. The the movers who showed up were awesome. Busted their behinds but still friendly when wife or I would spark up a conversation. This was our first time using movers so didn't know what to expect and due to a rushed timeline we could have been more prepared. But they were really cool about it. During the move one movers accidentally put about a 6 x 9 inch hole in the wall. No biggie it happens. It's only drywall. Foreman said he would try to get out the next day to repair himself. No call, no show. We are busy unpacking so no biggie. We wait another day. No call. We call Saturday morning. Claims guy isn't in but will call back....ok (why isn't there already a claim, if the guy was coming the next day?) Finally after a few more calls, we get an appt that equates to about 1.5 weeks after the damage was done for 9:30am. No call no show. 10:30 nope...noon, nope???? Call at noon "oh we sent him to another job, he will be there "later"? What, why didn't you call? "Another job came up?"...what???? (We have the ability to work from home or I would have been livid!!!!) Finally he came out today to patch the wall. No attempt by the company to make things right. What so ever. Only person who even applogized is the guy who patched the wall. It's not his fault he just goes where they tell him to go. It's a shame too, I was really ready for this to be a review singing their praises but obviously their customer service ends once they get their money. read more

Camelback Moving moved us locally, from a medium sized, single story home, with an medium load of furniture and boxes, to a larger, also single story home a few miles away. Instead of giving my opinion, maybe it's more useful to just state the facts, and you can form your own opinion. The three man team arrived exactly in the middle of the stated window, 8:15 - 8:30. They took inventory of the items to move in under 10 minutes with no complicated explanation needed. They accepted every item we said needed to be moved, even items that I assumed most movers don't handle, such as unboxed pillows, potted plants in the backyard, etc. They loaded the entire complement of boxes and furniture in about 2.5 hours, nothing dropped, nothing broken, no damage to the house. Sanity! Drive over to the new place was quick, we did a convoy, they followed me. They drove carefully, went slow over every speed bump and around every turn, backed into the driveway of our new house with no problem, despite it being at a weird kink the road. At the new house, they laid down mats, put furniture pads under every piece, carried all items in with no scratches on walls, no chipped door frames, no scratches on floors. Boxes were put in the designated rooms (we had labeled these and provided them a diagram). Outdoor items were carried out to the patio. Any item that for which the room was unmarked, they asked me for direction, or used common sense (baby diaper box in same room as crib, etc). All items marked fragile were put on top of box stacks or set aside, never under other boxes. Unloading took another 2.5 hours or so, again no damages to furniture, boxed items, or the house. More sanity! All together, the move was completed in 2-3 hours under the ballpark estimate we had been given, for about $250 less than expected, with no drama, stress, or hassle. A move that is completed ahead of schedule and under budget, with no surprises? Insanity! read more

7/26 So after writing this review yesterday, I immediately received a call from the president Chad Olsen apologizing for the situation and requested that I call him back to discuss. I did and the first words out of his mouth was an apology. We discussed my experience and he did offer some advice. He was incredibly nice, honest and he really did make it right. Some suggestions, make sure that you get an estimate for the time it would take to move and make sure you clarify any questions you may have before hand. I am changing my rating of my review all due to speaking with Chad. Customer service is what they pride themselves on and he definitely proved that. Thank you Chad for taking the time to speak with me regarding my concerns and taking care of me. 7/25 My husband found this company on Angie's list and i had also checked them out on yelp and had high hopes due to the ratings on both. The movers were supposed to be there @730AM and go to 930am. The move didn't start until 8AM, the driver was walking with a limp because of his knee. They were hustling in the very beginning but slowed down quite a bit. The hustle slowed quite a bit when it came to loading the truck. They basically unloaded the items from my onto the street before loading the truck. it took them 2hrs and 15min just to unload a 15X20 unit that my husband and i packed and they had to use the bed of my husbands truck. What would have happened if i didn't have that with me? It took them another 2hrs and 45min to put the stuff into my house. I was told that i was going to receive a call to see how the move went. (the move happened on 7/15). i didn't receive any call until Wednesday, explain to the gentlemen on the phone what I had written above and his response was "it took them 5hrs to move your stuff from a ground unit a mile away to your house?" I responded with yes and when i mentioned that they had to use the bed of my husbands truck, another pause "Wait, why did they have to use your truck? You mean to tell me that they filled our large truck and still had to use the bed of your truck?" I again respond with yes and he said "hmm, Can i call you back tomorrow (this was 7/20) after i look into this? We will make it right" Well folks, I have yet to hear anything back from them and nothing was made right. I can say that I will not be recommending this company to friends who are looking for movers. read more
