The movers were absolutely fantastic! Fast, considerate and professional. After deposit, balance and tip I believe my one bed, one bath was about $300. Considering I could have never done the move alone, definitely worth the price. Why not five stars? Because I fully intended to give five stars.... They erroneously charged my card an additional $591 (it was voided, great...my bank takes a week to show this). I don't know about anyone else, but when I move, I'm generally not flush with cash. I finally decided to be a grown up and hire professionals as compared to my usual asking friends with a truck to give up their day and pay for pizza and beverages. So I started researching. One name kept coming up...Camelback. I called them for a quote and was pleasantly surprised. I called several others and realized there were upcharges for things like packing blankets, clothing wardrobes, stairs, etc. I loved a single trip charge and a flat rate....But that was the quote. I called to make an appointment. the separate insurance was explained to me. The day before my move...there was a glitch in my closing. I called and asked if we could move back my reservation until later in the day. They worked with me and we backed up my window. Toby and Joe Silva showed up at the beginning of the time window. They were the perfect combination of courteous, fast, efficient and thorough. They protected my doorways with packing blankets, provided wardrobe boxes for my hanging items, and put my smaller boxes into their speed pack boxes. I really appreviated the care they exhibited for my belongings and was surprised at how fast they could be while being so careful. After arriving at my new house, they showed the same care. No surprise charges on the end, nothing broken, I'm very happy. Out of all of my moves in the last 14 years, this team has been the most professional and caring team. I had run into a time issue with my apartment complex and had to delay my move with less than 24 hours notice. The team made the change with no hassle or issues. Net/net...At the end of the day would use the men to move me, but woulnt give a dime to the company. They have not learned that customer service doesn't end when they get paid. The the movers who showed up were awesome. Busted their behinds but still friendly when wife or I would spark up a conversation. This was our first time using movers so didn't know what to expect and due to a rushed timeline we could have been more prepared. But they were really cool about it. During the move one movers accidentally put about a 6 x 9 inch hole in the wall. No biggie it happens. It's only drywall. Foreman said he would try to get out the next day to repair himself. No call, no show. We are busy unpacking so no biggie. We wait another day. No call. We call Saturday morning. Claims guy isn't in but will call back....ok (why isn't there already a claim, if the guy was coming the next day?) Finally after a few more calls, we get an appt that equates to about 1.5 weeks after the damage was done for 9:30am. No call no show. 10:30 nope...noon, nope???? Call at noon "oh we sent him to another job, he will be there "later"? What, why didn't you call? "Another job came up?"...what???? (We have the ability to work from home or I would have been livid!!!!) Finally he came out today to patch the wall. No attempt by the company to make things right. What so ever. Only person who even applogized is the guy who patched the wall. It's not his fault he just goes where they tell him to go. It's a shame too, I was really ready for this to be a review singing their praises but obviously their customer service ends once they get their money. read more

We got bids from 7 companies and we are very happy with our choice. Fair price. The movers were careful with our items and LISTENED to us when we said something was fragile or we had a concern. They brought and used 6 rolls of shrink wrap with probably 200' of their webbing. The guy who packed the truck (James) was a Master Loader but we called him Tetris Grand Master because he didn't spare an inch of space in our truck. The four-man crew worked HARD for 8 hours and was still smiling and joking with us when we said goodbye. Fantastic! read more

We hire camelback to move us from flagstaff to their storage until ours new house is built. The crew headed up by Jason arrived within 5 minutes of time quoted. They literally wrapped everything in Moving blankets including tv folding trays. They inventoried everything and Jason made us feel like family and tried to make move as painless as possible. Later that day Jason called to tell us the cost and that all of her possessions were inside wooden vaults til we are ready. Their monthly storage is far less than I could rent a storage unit and more importantly it's being stored in mild climate of Phoenix rather than flagstaff which has harsh winter. From my initial call, to post-move follow up calls from management, they saved my sanity like they said they would. My first person I met was Stephanie, she helped me place my order. She asked so many questions about my moving needs, that I really felt a personal concern on her part that I receive exactly what I needed to facilitate my move! She really took the time to put my order together, asked questions about the size of the house I was moving out of, the different kinds of furniture I had, art work I owned as well as the physical set up of the house I was moving out of. They arrived, surveyed my possession's, and like true logistical professionals formulated a plan. Let me tell you these guys worked and worked hard! When I initially emailed asking for a quote they were a little slow to respond, but I'm so glad I picked them for my move. The day of, they called me to let me know they were on their way, and then were about 15 minutes early. After reading all of the raving reviews on Yelp, I couldn't wait to have Camelback Moving handle my move from Ahwatukee to Cave Creek. I must say that the move went pretty smoothly, the movers were top notch and a class act, and there was practically nothing broken in the move. So, you're probably wondering what is up with the three star rating? My only issue, and this case it was a pretty "expensive" issue, was the fact that they way underestimated the cost of my move. I called their office to inquire about a quote and I was expecting that someone would be coming to my home to assess the situation and give me a quote. Instead, I was asked several questions about the size of my house, how many rooms, how many pieces of furniture, etc, etc. It was concluded that my move would cost approximately $1700 including packing materials. I indicated that I suspected I had more stuff than the average Joe, yet I was told that they do this every day and that this would be approximately what the total would be. Just to clarify, they charge hourly, not by the job so this was an estimate based on the number of people that they thought it would take to do the job. I asked, "so if I budget $2000 for this move, would it be safe to say the cost won't exceed that?" The reply was, "you will absolutely be safe with that budget." That said, I booked the move and we were off and running. So, moving day rolls around and the movers show up right on time. There were three men on the job. We walked the house and they indicated that the three should be able to have everything packed in one day as planned. So, I left the house and went to work. I get a call at about noon that it's been determined that I have more "clutter" than they were expecting and that it would take another 2-3 guys and another full size truck to complete the move on schedule. Because I had to be out of the house the next day, I agreed and had the additional movers come over. They worked until about 7pm and the cost for day 1 was about $1700. Keep in mind, everything still has to be moved to my new house. The plan for day 2 was to have 3 guys but again because I have so much "clutter" they had to send more people. I won't drag out the details of day 2 but they didn't finish unpacking until about 11pm and the cost for day 2 was another $1700. So, the total was something like $3600 because I had also put down a deposit. They ended up giving me a few hundred dollars off because they missed the mark by only a few thousand dollars but it was better than nothing. Aside from the cost being twice as much as I had planned on, I really don't think it's appropriate to use the word "clutter" when you're talking about someones home and their possessions. When I hear the word "clutter" I think Sanford & Son. Trust me, my family and I don't live like Sanford & Son. Yes, we have a lot of stuff but I tried to communicate that from the beginning. At the end of the day, I would still recommend this company because the guys that showed up to do the work are simply the best you will find in town. I would just warn that if your gut instinct tells you that you think you may have a bit more "clutter" than the average Joe, you should insist that they come out and assess your home before giving you an estimate that they can't live up to. read more

For our moves that didn't require the full day their drivers narrowed the arrival window down and actually showed up within the timeframe provided.
