Ok, so Camden Donuts finally opened up. I had seen the signage, etc awhile ago. But they are finally open! It's been awhile since I was in the area, so they have been open for just 3-4 months now. A simple and modestly decorated donut shop. They offer old school, classic donuts, though they do have cronuts. Julia was welcoming, pleasant, and helpful. Her customers service skills were outstanding! I picked up two donuts. Glazed Old Fashion - it was crisp on the edges yet soft in the middle and the glaze was sweet like you'd expect. Blueberry Cake - a moist and fruity soft cake with a thinner glaze. So I went to a new donut place that opened up last month named Camden Donuts located at 1410 Camden Ave, Campbell, CA 95008. It is located on busy Camden Ave, which made it challenging for me to enter the parking lot. Once I figured it out, everything was fine. Upon entering, everything was brand new and clean. I was really impressed with the menu board which had all types of breakfast/lunch sandwiches and various beverages including boba teas. The bottled beverages in the cold refrigerator had a great selection including Ito En, my favorite tea. Now for the donuts. I tried a cronut (signature pastry), french cruller, and apple fritter. I also had a cold bottle of milk. In general I am not a big cronut fan as I have tried them before and have never been impressed. However, this time I experienced the best cronut I had ever had. What made it so good was the quality of the ingredients and how it was made. Absolutely the best I've ever had. The french cruller and apple fritter were out of this world. The taste was so different than from other shops and not greasy. The young lady behind the counter was so kind and helpful and answered all of my questions and made suggestions. I like this place and HIGHLY RECOMMEND it. I will come back to try their sandwiches!

A simple sandwich order at 9:20 is not ready until 9:45. Lesson learned, come at opening time and order all at once. Cortado & latte, 5/5. Hot, smooth, strong. Orchid acai bowl ($14, sub in mango for mulberry, add coconut dust): 5/5. so good. Palmetto superfoods is my go-to in the SJ area for acai bowls, this was better despite not as many topping options. Their bases are smoother and creamier, no ice crystals here. Also liked that the fruit was chopped smaller. BAE sandwich ($12): 4/5. good, but definitely not worth a 25 min wait. Textures, freshness were great, but it was missing salt/pepper & spices. The sauce helped, but still underwhelming given how good it looks. Recommend having salt & pepper packets & a bottle of hot sauce available to customers. Cinnamon roll ($5.75): as a cinnamon roll, 3/5. As a morning bun type thing, 4.5/5. This is a case of mistaken identity. It's got a slight crunch, light sweetness, fluffy (not dense). When I order a cinnamon roll, I'm more expecting decadent dessert-for-breakfast laden with sugar & butter, yknow? Loved their dining area, loved how beautifully presented all items were, loved how everything was served at optimal temperature (hot espresso, thoroughly warmed pastry, etc), loved the variety of menu items (I can get an acai bowl and bf can get a sandwich or pastry). Will definitely return at 9 am sharp on weekends, and not order anything after about 9:10!

We were able to explore the menu at the self service counter. Ordered two of the açaí bowls and a banana late. When going to sit I kept noticing some of the food items other customers had ordered and they looked delicious, especially the breakfast sandwiches! When we received our food the portions were huge and the latte was actually one of the best banana lattes I've had in a while. Definitely going back to try more of the menu! Heads up parking is behind the building in a parking garage, you might miss the entrance if you drive by so be careful!

She said it was a tad bitter, but I think that's just because the place she normally goes to puts simple syrup in it? We need to ask them their input next time, but she still said it was really good quality and a very generous serving. I also paired my cappuccino with a scone with cranberry raisins. It was pretty good. Ambience is really nice and my daughter even agreed it's one of the nicer settings. However, getting seating is very challenging and parking, I'll be honest, is a nightmare. They don't let you park in most of the residence areas either. (Although I should mention they do have their own lot, it's just very popular :-) With higher prices on everything, including coffee, this is my go to. If I'm going to splurge, I'd rather spend my money here, a local coffee shop that gets it right, every time.

I've been here a few times, and I honestly don't know why I haven't reviewed this place yet…read more The moment you walk into Manresa Bread, you're greeted right away. The space has a modern yet warm feel with beautiful natural wood finishes, fresh loaves of sourdough lining the shelves, pastries displayed in the case, and a mix of large communal wood tables, regular seating, and high-top tables. It's the kind of café that makes you want to slow down and stay awhile. The staff was friendly and helped us choose both a pastry and our toast. They were also happy to customize our order--we asked for the levain sourdough toast with butter instead of the usual olive oil. That toast was absolutely divine. The sourdough had the perfect balance: chewy without being too sour, with a crust that was crisp but not so hard that it fought back. Easily the best sourdough toast I've had in the Bay Area. If you come here, this is the one thing you have to order. The only disappointment was the butter. They serve French butter, but for an extra $2, the portion was tiny and honestly nothing special. I've had better butter from Whole Foods. It didn't take away from how incredible the bread was, but it wasn't worth the upcharge. Their Kouign-amann is also one of the best I've ever had. Instead of the typical flat, flaky style, theirs is taller with countless buttery layers that create an amazing texture. The cappuccino was another highlight. It had subtle notes of orange peel, whiskey, and cardamom, making it unique. The latte art was beautiful too. Overall, Manresa Bread is one of those cafés that makes you want to sit down with a laptop or a book and spend a few hours there. The only downside is there are no power outlets, so come with a full battery if you're planning to work. Must orders: Levain sourdough toast with butter and the Kouign-amann. Both are worth the trip.
