We moved into a property that Cam's Pool & Spa had apparently been servicing for a while. He came highly recommended by the previous home owners so we were hopeful. The Wednesday after our close, he just showed up without warning. We hadn't hired him; he just assumed the position. You can barely understand Randall when he speaks. He mumbles and can't form a solid sentence. It is a husband-wife company with solely verbal agreements. Not once, in the year and a half that they came and serviced our pool, did they have us sign a contract outlining the terms of our agreement. At the time, I was on maternity leave and so we just gave him our contact information and he said he would be by every Wednesday to test the levels and clean the pool. We were busy dealing with other obligations of moving in and raising a young family, so we were thankful he assumed the position and that was one thing off of our plate. About 2 or 3 months in, I was still on maternity leave and had the blinds shut while his wife was servicing the pool. I was breastfeeding my newborn baby and I hear a loud banging on my back door. I tried to ignore it since I was just able to put our baby to sleep. She banged on the door AGAIN.. I set my crying baby down and walked outside to see why there was such an urgency. She stated that I needed to fill up the pool that the water level was low. I asked her why she couldn't have just texted me and let her know that she had woken up my very sick newborn baby. She said it was important and I informed her to just write it on the door hangers that they leave every week or text us and not to knock on our door like that again. Ever since we had that altercation, they have been pretty unresponsive to us and did not communicate well. Two weeks ago, we noticed that the hot tub on our in ground pool was draining very significantly. My husband reached out to Randall to see if he could come take a look at it. He said he would. We waited a week. No response. I texted him last Wednesday asking if he had a chance to take a look. He did not respond. We decided to bring another pool service company out to take a look at everything. The new pool service company stated that there were no gaskets on the pool equipment that was installed and currently being monitored by Randall, there were parts that needed to be replaced causing the leak, and the new service company was able to set up our Aqua-link app all in the same visit (which Randall was never able to help us with the whole year and a half we've lived here even though we tried to meet with him multiple times in the beginning.) My husband texted Randall a short message Sunday night stating that we would no longer be needing his services (whatever that was he was doing). We received a rude group texting thread today threatening us and cussing; stating that we needed to pay this final invoice (that was brought to my attention today) on receipt (which from what my husband says - includes services that haven't even been done). This is an unprofessional mom and pop business that overlooks important things when maintaining your pool. Please choose a different company or you will be in the same boat we have found ourselves in. read more
