Toastada pizza
Anusha M.

Everytime I visit a California pizza kitchen i am just a very very happy person .To start with they give you some fresh bread and herb infused olive oil. Their watermelon cooler is my favorite summer drink . My most loved pizza here is actually a very odd choice .Its called the toastada. Its a hot and cold pizza with beans lettuce salsa ranch & tortilla. Its a must try . The wait stuff here ensure everytime you have an extraordinary experience . They are very very happy to serve extra bread, extra oil, extra salsa and ranch .The try to accomodate your requests to the maximum level .They once just gave me a bowl of Alfredo sauce because I said the garlic creme fettuccine was dry for me . This location is in the food court of garden state plaza mall in jersey.

California pizza on cauliflower crust no cheese. Very dry and tasteless

The good was Terry our waitress. Friendly, accommodating and fast. And the lunch special my sister had was good too. The bad was the mistake on my cauliflower pizza. I asked for no cheese today on my california pizza. After my order came, it was dry, and without taste. Unfortunately, I couldn't finish eating it and Terry returned it without charge. I dont usually do that. But this time I was glad to send it back. I would suggest if going back. Go with the classic original orders. But be prepared if you are going to change the menu for any small reasons..

I never actually dyed here, but my husband brought home the take and bake pizza. I didn't think it was gonna turn out good. But it was so easy to make was done within 8 to 10 minutes and it was really really good. The only down part was the middle of the pizza was a bit soggy before going into the oven and that part did not cook well. But I will absolutely do this again. Highly recommended taking bake at home

Nice location inside of the Garden State Plaza Mall and, most importantly, solid food. Personally, I had not been to a CPK in probably more than a decade! And with this being our 1st time at the Garden State Plaza Mall location, we very well enjoyed our experience here. For the longest time, we patronized the mall and passed by this CPK 90% of the time. With all of the food options at our disposal inside, we always overlooked it and figured we'd eventually get to it when we went through all of the other yummy restaurants. Tucked not too far from multiple entrances, it now has the unfortunate distinction of being located across from the uber popular Kura Revolving Sushi. However, this clean and cozy CPK still draws quite the crowd, especially on the Sunday morning/early afternoon we dropped in for lunch. We arrived at around 11:30 where it was mostly empty inside, but by 12pm, the restaurant was very busy with mostly families - like us. The menu, as you would have predicted, is centered around personal pizzas - Cali-style. However, the menu is surprisingly much more diverse than just pizza - there are lots of salads to choose from, sophisticated entrees/pastas, soups, a variety of starters and sandwiches. We began our meal with the White Corn Guacamole + Chips, which was very good.....except for the fact that it was quite a small order, on both the chips and guac parts. For $14, the order SHOULD have been at least double the size of what came out. Nevertheless, it was still a good guac and chips appetizer. For our entrees, my wife ordered the Waldorf Chicken Salad, while I got the The Works pizza, which consisted of spicy Italian sausage, rustic pepperoni, Cremini mushrooms, Mozzarella, red onions, green peppers, olives, and wild Greek oregano. And, last, but definitely not least, our kids shared a Kids Mushroom Pepperoni Sausage pizza. Overall, everything was decent. Not mindblowingly amazing, but fairly solid. I can't speak too much to the salad, which my wife enjoyed, but The Works pizza was good and a perfect personal pie size with 6 slices in total. There were plenty of toppings and it tasted good. Couldn't really complain much about it. Our kids kind of struggled through the Kids pizza though. They LOVE pizza, but, for some reason, they weren't huge fans. I even had to eat a slice of their pie, which I thought was pretty good as well. Besides the food, we also ordered a Strawberry Lemonade, which came with unlimited free refills. It definitely was refreshing. Service was solid throughout, albeit a bit on the slower side on this Sunday afternoon, but not much to complain about.

Went to the mall on a rainy Saturday and wanted to grab lunch. My husband and I decided to go to California pizza kitchen as we have not been in there in a long time. We wanted to split some thing and we didn't want pizza cause we knew we were having pizza for dinner so we decided to sit at the bar and order a salad. The bar was pretty busy. I had a mock tail which was really good and my husband had a beer and we split the salad, which was a great size to split. We ordered the large flavor we felt like was missing something, but it didn't stop us from eating. The whole thing will definitely be back in the near future.

Relaxing vibe during weekday lunch time. I like the small portion for lunch. Fried shrimp with spicy mayo is really good. Service is great! Clean and bright restaurant.

I haven't been to a California Pizza Kitchen in many years mainly because the one nearest to my home closed. I was at the Garden State Plaza Mall yesterday with my husband and we wanted to eat lunch. We both decided to try it. We ordered sangria, dynamite shrimp as an appetizer and the thin crust bbq chicken pizza. Everything was absolutely delicious. Our plates were clean by the time we were done. The service was phenomenal. Our waitress Lexi was super friendly and quick with our food. The ambience is rustic but modern. I will definitely return and have already told several family members and friends about our experience.

Have dined here before but not often. Last night I was joined by two cousins. We got seated right away around 7:30 on a Thursday evening. We shared the chicken dumplings, steak and pepper pizza, guacamole and chips, and chicken club pizza. Truthfully, I am NOT a pizza person but I enjoyed their pizzas. They were filling, perfectly baked with great toppings. The dumplings were tangy, soft, and tasty with a kick of spice. We thoroughly enjoyed them. The guacamole and chips were the biggest surprise! The guacamole included corn and jalapeños which we all appreciated and enjoyed. We also shared a sangria flight which was just perfect for Our trio!

Earlier this week, I was with a party of five from work and we met up to celebrate some birthdays. This was my first time at the CPK in Paramus/Garden State Plaza, and it had been a couple of years since I last went to CPK. It was a good choice to go here, we had a great time! There is a variety of seating areas here. We were seated in one of the booths to the left when you enter. Our waiter brought out bread with dipping oil to the table, as well as some tortilla chips later. Here is what we ordered: * Shrimp * Spinach and Artichoke Dip * 5 Cheese Pizza * BBQ Chicken Pizza * Margherita Pizza * Spicy Chipotle Pizza * Key Lime Pie * Red Velvet Cake with Vanilla Ice Cream This is a legit California Pizza Kitchen location. Recommended!

Visited this establishment on a Monday afternoon so it was pretty empty. Our server was very friendly and answered all the questions we had. Our food was just ok. Nothing special. Probably won't return.

Great Lunch Spot! We went to the mall to do some shopping and stopped by CPK for lunch. Everything we ordered was tasteful and satisfying. Bbq chicken chopped salad - favorite cpk salad. The salad ingredients were fresh and the salad had a slight tang to it from the bbq sauce. It was delicious! Wear Coast Burger - I went half-sies with my husband. The burger was juicy and the charcoal taste completed the flavorful burger! It's a good burger. The Works Pizza - out of all three dishes we ordered this was probably my least favorite. It was a good pizza, but nothing special. It was bit salty for my palate, but definitely interested in trying other pizzas! Service seemed a bit rushed, but they were busy. The restaurant was lively. It was a Saturday afternoon at the mall, it was expected. 4 stars! 7/10!

Pratiksha R.

Loved the vibe of this restaurant. While you wait for the order you can watch the chefs making pizza or pasta. There is something about open kitchens as you get to see what's cooking at the restaurant is fresh. We ordered some Mexican pizza and replaced the chicken with avocado. The crust was so good and the seasoning on it was amazing. We ordered king pao spaghetti- Chinese meets Italian that tasted great too. It was without any meat but still tasted great. We saw a lot of people ordering butter cake for dessert and got tempted to order it. It was yum. We added ice cream to it and was a perfect end to our dinner.

First things first as I'm sure other reviewers have flagged but Lula is BYOB. We forgot that memo but luckily they partner up and recommend local wine / liquor distributors who are able and willing to swing down to the restaurant with a bottle of your favorite thing. Prices are high (on-par with what you'd expect from NYC fine dining) but the ambiance isn't stuffy and staff were kind, friendly and generally attentive. Note that the restaurant is generally loud (there is no music) so you might find yourself raising your voice to talk to your partner. The restaurant was completely busy so reservations are necessary though thankfully did not find it as competitive as NYC to get a prime-time Saturday night dinner reservation. The focaccia, a staple on Lula's menu, was excellent though I would do without the +$3 additional sardine sauce / accompaniment which I felt was unnecessary. The beef tartare was my personal favorite, light and delicious and a generous portion paired with the cream sauce and chips. We were generally satisfied by the time our entrees came out and I really enjoyed the salmon / fish dish they served along with the clams. Finishing with the Baked Alaska was also excellent (though not game-changing) and we enjoyed our time here. Would recommend a visit and think there's enough going on nearby to warrant a trip to Ridgewood, NJ regardless!

Once you enter through the store, there is a sign to wait to be seated. The place has a nice and bright rustic vibe to it. I really liked the decor and table setup. Even the napkins had a rustic vibe. Started off with the potato scoop ($16) which was my fave item. The potato was shaped like the Fritos scoop chip, and the cheese dip that came with it had chunks of cheese in a melted cheese sauce. For my main, got the pulled pork sandwich ($16), which came in a pretzel knot bun and creamy slaw. It was solid meal and very filling. Other mains ordered were the roast beef "pho" style sandwich ($16) which I had a bite of and it was good and not what I expected thinking roast beef. Roast turkey ($16) was warm and also tasty. Each of the mains came with a side of potato salad. I will be back to try the sloppy Joe and their dinner meals. I highly recommend this place if you want tasty, high quality meal for a fair price. * Highly recommend making reservations on weekends * Street parking * Good service

She was so friendly, attentive, helpful, and truly on top of everything throughout the entire meal. She made the experience even better. We also had the Miso Baked Oysters with miso-ginger glaze, scallion, sesame, and lime, which were absolutely delicious. For dinner, the Lobster Thermidor was incredible! Perfectly fresh lobster with seafood risotto and gruyere gratin. Easily one of the best lobster dishes I've had in a long time. We also ordered the Wagyu Skirt Steak with salsa criolla, grilled corn purée, aji amarillo, and charred lime. The steak was cooked perfectly and every bite had amazing flavor. We ended the night with a hazelnut dessert, and the restaurant even treated us to little espresso martini shots, which was such a fun and perfect way to finish an incredible meal. The restaurant is very pretty overall, though the interior is quite dim, making it difficult to read the menu without additional light. The tables were also placed fairly close together. Our server was polite and welcoming throughout the evening. We started with the Korean fried chicken and tuna tataki. The chicken was moist and coated in a sweet and spicy sauce. The tuna tataki was flavorful; however, the taro chips were very thin and tended to break easily when holding the tuna. For our main courses, we ordered the Icelandic cod, rigatoni, Freebird chicken, and a side of whipped potatoes. Dessert was the hazelnut chocolate crunch, which was a nice way to end the meal. Overall, the food was enjoyable. That said, the pricing felt more in line with a fine dining experience, while the atmosphere and service were closer to an upscale casual restaurant. Some small details, such as the whipped potatoes being served without a serving spoon, stood out. While minor, these details can make a difference, especially at this price point.

We stopped in mid-week for a family dinner after work and even on a Wednesday the place was buzzing. The restaurant itself is pretty tiny, which makes for a cozy atmosphere but also means tables are very close together. If you can, I'd definitely recommend making a reservation. The menu is somewhat minimal, but the food overall was good. I eat gluten-free and noticed the options were a bit limited, which made ordering slightly challenging. I ended up going with the sea scallops. They were nicely cooked, but the portion was smaller than I expected--five small scallops with some vegetables. For the price, I do wish the portion had been a bit more generous. I have to admit I left still a little hungry. My dad ordered the short rib grilled cheese and really enjoyed it. That was probably the standout dish at our table. My sister ordered the honey bourbon chicken and said it was okay, but afterward she mentioned she probably should have gone with the short rib grilled cheese instead. One surprise of the night was live music on a Wednesday. I usually enjoy live music, but since we were hoping to catch up as a family it made conversation a little difficult. The music was fairly loud for such a small space. Service was friendly and attentive throughout the meal. They also have a rewards program, which worked out nicely--my dad received a complimentary dessert for his birthday. I ordered the crème brûlée, which was a great way to end the meal. A couple practical tips: parking in Ridgewood can be tricky. The restaurant advertises valet parking, though we didn't use or see it during our visit. If you find street parking, make sure to feed the meter because the town is known for giving out tickets. In warmer months they do offer some outdoor sidewalk seating, though it looks fairly limited. It also appears they have a happy hour, though we didn't arrive in time to try it. Overall, I'd recommend checking out Steel Wheel Tavern--just be mindful of the timing of your visit, especially if you're hoping for a quieter dinner.

The appetizer was the Slow-Roasted Meatballs (porcini-dusted veal, pork, grass-fed beef, tomato-basil sauce, brick-oven bread). Each meatball was tender, flavorful, well seasoned, and the sauce was sufficient to accompany every forkful of the delicious starter. The entrees were: Caramelized Sea Scallops (broccolini, mascarpone risotto). Next was the Seasonal Brick-Oven Gnocchi (roasted mushrooms, truffle oil, roasted tomatoes, Marsala and provolone sauce, green onions). The final entree was the Mediterranean Wood-Grilled Chicken Salad (arugula, toybox tomatoes, kalamata olives, red onions, chickpeas, quinoa, feta, lemon dijon vinaigrette). For dessert, Seasons 52 graciously offered a free dessert for my birthday. Another nice touch that places Seasons 52 on a pedestal. I chose the Key Lime Pie Mini (graham cracker crust, whipped cream). The mini dessert was deliciously sweet, the graham crust provided an appreciated different texture, and I highly recommend these mini selections.

We were the first ones there by accident which can feel funny but Izzy was so warm and welcoming and very eager to meet us and tell us about the epic menu and the show stopping desserts. We told Izzy our drink preferences and he nailed it each drink. We started with a dozen oysters that were incredible and shocked perfectly. Then followed that with the bone marrow which had a tasteful amount of chimichurri sauce and a side of crunchy salt to use for your liking. It was delicious! We were temped to next get the octopus but needed room for the "bar only specials" which is a brilliant idea very unique. It was a wagu blend cheese burger with arugula and a delicious black garlic spread and perfectly cooked fries. Perfect for sharing! A dinner isn't complete without an espresso martini! I also loved the pictures of all the people in the back of the restaurant over the course of there decades of business. Lastly the history is incredible it use to be the village hall and jailhouse! [Blowing on my nails.] The menu is a mix of American comfort food and gastropub classics, but with flair, and has a bit of everything to satisfy different palates. Our eyes were probably bigger than our stomachs as we ordered 2 apps, 2 entrees, and 2 cocktails, and it was an enormous amount of food. The portions are definitely what you'd call hearty, and everything was very tasty. Thursdays are all day happy hour so we picked the fried calamari appetizer at the HH price (still a full and generous plate and didn't seem like a downsized version) which were tender and well-battered, as well as the hot honey wings which were meaty and substantial. The short rib parpadelle with housemade pasta and a perfectly medium-rare, well seasoned hanger steak with truffle fries completed our satisfying and belly-stuffing meal. The cocktails are serious as well - the presence of a drink with egg white is my personal litmus test for a bar that knows what it's doing, so the Thyme to Bloom special had my name on it. I'm salivating just looking at photos of dishes I didn't order, and am already plotting my return!
