Calo's can't miss. I usually get the chicken fajitas. I've gotten the burrito before when really hungry because it huge and filling. Today I got the ribeye enchiladas and they were awesome. Then when we had our monthly staff lunch, my staff had such a great time they said let's come back again. They all got the calo's combos. So they had the Mexican corn, the rice, the beans. They just really loved them. Also one of my staff brought her daughter and she had a quesadilla, and she said I had the best time with my mom. So if you come to Calo's, it's good for the whole family and the staff and the team.

It's time to update my review. This is actually one of my favorite places. What I like best about this place is that they use only fresh ingredients to make their margaritas. I was unhappy when they changed to a cheaper tequila for my caddies. But they actually have a nice variety of other tequilas to choose from. I started requesting the Fortaleza Blanco which is amazing. They don't always have this in stock. Based on a recommendation, I tried Chinaco Blanco which has a great flavor. There are others tequilas that I plan to try also. So I'm back! The service is excellent! Our favorite servers are Ruby and Elizabeth, who always treat us amazingly! So we are regulars here. We usually sit on the patio. Which is perfect. Some days it gets too hot so we go indoors for the a/c. The booths are ok and sitting at the bar is fun watching your drinks get made. The food is really good but don't expect authentic Mexican food like your abuelita used to make. I only mention this so you don't go here expecting it to be like Los Compadres. Everything is very tasty and they use high quality ingredients. My favorites are the rib eye tacos, the shrimp fajitas, the chili verde, and the shrimp chimichanga. They use jumbo shrimp so any shrimp dish is great. One small complaint: I wish the refried means were more authentic. . For dessert, there are churros and flan to choose from!!

Came here for a date night before a jazz concert, and it was the perfect way to start the evening. We started with a Cadillac margarita and a blackberry margarita. Both were excellent, well balanced, and made with quality tequila. The shrimp taquitos disappeared fast and were easily one of the highlights of the meal. For our entrees, I ordered the lobster and shrimp enchiladas. They were rich, creamy, and loaded with seafood. The rice and black beans were seasoned well, which I always appreciate because sides can make or break a meal. My date had the rib eye tacos, and the steak was cooked perfectly and incredibly tender. The cheesy potatoes underneath were so good I had to steal a few bites. What really elevated the experience was our waiter, Anderson. He was an absolute delight. Friendly, attentive, and personable without hovering over the table. Service like that makes a difference. The ambiance was warm and inviting, making it a great date night spot. Even the bathrooms were spotless and well kept, which always says something about how a restaurant is run. We left full, happy, and made it to our jazz concert right on schedule. Great food, excellent cocktails, outstanding service, and an atmosphere that makes you want to come back. We'll definitely be visiting Caló Kitchen + Tequila again.

Another great visit. Parking in the adjacent lot or nearby garage. Indoor & outdoor seating available. There is a tv in the bar area. All of the food is fresh and tasty. Kid friendly as well! Service was attentive and the dining room space is very nice.

I absolutely love to eat at Calò kitchen and tequila! It's always a pleasure dining in. Food is great, drinks are good and ambience is truly inviting.

My cousin was visiting from Florida, so we came here for dinner. Her headquarters for work is in El Segundo, which worked out perfectly! It turned into such a sweet, memorable night. Since it's only minutes from my daughter's office, she was able to join us too. My cousin is a March baby, but we still had to celebrate her birthday! This time, we decided to sit on the patio, and I'm so glad we did. I knew we were going to be deep in conversation, so I asked if we could have one of their nicest, quieter tables and they delivered. It was lovely, with a nice breeze and much more peaceful than sitting inside. The food was to me satisfying. I ordered the two-item combo (beef hard shell taco + chicken enchilada) with rice and beans, so satisfying. They also start you off with complimentary chips, salsa, and beans, which were delicious. My daughter's camarones had HUGE shrimp, and my cousin loved her chicken and asada tacos. Drinks were just as yummy; a lemon drop for me and a pineapple margarita for her. We mentioned it was my cousin's birthday, and the staff kindly helped us celebrate with a belated cake, which was such a nice touch. We ended with churros and flan (both amazing), and of course took leftovers home. Great food, great service, and such a special night. Thank you for a wonderful Ladies night, we'll definitely be back!

The vibe is definitely the star of the show here. We got to sit outside, and the whole setup made it feel like the perfect spot for either a date night or a casual night out with friends. The staff was friendly, helpful, and made the experience easy from start to finish. The drinks were probably our favorite part they tasted great and were almost too pretty to drink. As for the food, our honest take is that the appetizers are the way to go. Everything we tried was tasty, but based on our visit, there wasn't one main dish that really stood out or made us feel like we had to order it again. Overall, this is a place we'd come back to more for the atmosphere, drinks, and shared bites. Great energy, beautiful presentation, and a fun place to spend the evening.

The food was very delicious. Our server and the entire staff were very attentive and kind. We had the guacamole, potato taquitos, short rib enchiladas, and camarones. We sat outside and by a heater. We had a reservation at 6:30, but didn't get seated until 6:45pm- that is our only complaint. I believe they were understaffed but they did a great job with the circumstances!

Chicken enchiladas in red sauce. One shredded beef taco
    Susan W.

For $100 for lunch, it was a rip off. $36 for a "taco plate". It was a 3oz piece of rib eye in a pool of meat and cheese grease. The tortillas were too thin to "make a taco". To roll up, yes, but not to hold anything. The rice as overcooked and mushy . The beans needed more flavor. My partner ordered on the ($31) hidden combo menu: 2 chicken enchiladas and 1 shredded beef taco. Neither were available on the main menu. And he approved. The chips with the beans and salsa were good. The chips were superior. The beans were good. The salsa was decent. The service was great. Except the 2nd round of iced tea took way too long. ($12) The waitstaff were friendly. The outdoor seating was good. There was a nice breeze. Inside has nice AC, but it had a hint of cigar smoke . The bathrooms upstairs, accessed by stairs or elevator, were clean and well attended.

The highlight of the night was definitely the drinks. We asked for something fun, and the manager surprised us with a couple of off-menu cocktails that were creative, delicious, and honestly the coolest drinks we've had in a while. They were pricey, but the presentation and quality made them worth trying. Unfortunately, the service took a turn after that. The manager disappeared for what I assume was a break, leaving a single server to cover the entire rooftop. We completely understand that things happen and it wasn't the server's fault, but we ended up waiting around an hour to an hour and a half without anyone checking on us. We wanted to order another round of drinks, but the server was constantly rushing past trying to keep up with everyone else. Eventually, we gave up, walked to the bar ourselves, paid our tab, and left. Flora has a great atmosphere, beautiful views, and some genuinely impressive cocktails. If they can improve the staffing during busy hours, this place would easily earn a higher rating from me.

It's literally walking distance from our hotel in Torrance -- so close we actually walked past it the first time without even realizing it was there. Super hidden, easy to miss. The space itself is small, and when you first walk in it doesn't hit you with an over-the-top tiki vibe right away. But once the drinks start coming out, it fully delivers. The glassware is so fun and themed -- I was obsessed with the flamingo cup and actually ended up buying a couple online since I couldn't take the real one home with me. Drink-wise, I stuck mostly to my usual zombie, which has this great earthy, cinnamon-y flavor that's just different from anything else -- does the trick every time (there's a two-drink max/minimum on it, which I respect). We also tried a Makahiki Mua and a Painkiller, both really solid. The Makahiki Mua had a fun flavor, kind of similar to a Painkiller, but the zombie is still my go-to. Service was pretty good overall -- the bartender stayed mostly in one corner of the bar, which actually worked in our favor since we got served fast. A couple of small quirks though: they only have a limited number of menus, so we kept having to pass one back and forth around the bar, which felt a little silly. They also seemed to be running low on drink cups at times, having to wash and rotate them back into use, which was an odd thing to notice at a bar this size. Also wish they had some food or snacks available, even something small -- but that's a minor gripe. Vibe-wise, this is easily one of my favorite tiki lounges I've been to -- doesn't quite topple Broken Compass Tiki for me, but it's up there. Fun, easy, great drinks, solid service despite the small hiccups, and a perfect spot if you're staying in the Torrance area. Would absolutely go back and would recommend it to anyone chasing that tiki lounge crawl.
