    Ladies of the Westchester Elks

Had dinner with my fellow Ladies of the Elks of Westchester as we celebrated our birthdays. The appetizer we had was absolutely delicious, we had homemade potato chips and artichoke dip. I had the poached salmon and Niçoise salad and it was refreshing and so darn tasty and so light for dinner. The customer service was absolutely fantastic and very friendly. Thank you for hosting for dinner for us ladies.

We went yesterday for Dine LA and had a good experience. The wait staff was very friendly. They were running low on some items and were sure to let us know. We ordered the French onion soup to start. It was salty, but good. I wish the cheese was a little hotter and meltier. For the main we got prime rib. The prime rib was great. The green beans were delicious. The mashed potatoes were not good. Lastly, we got dessert. I got the tiramisu which was absolutely delicious. My sister got the crème brûlée and it was good. We also got Mojitos and they were all right.

Decided to stop in and try the marmalade café here in El Segundo after seeing them on the Dine LA list and also that they had a good number of reviews. Not sure if there's more of a lunch and brunch spot butI came here for dinner on week night and it was kind of rough. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and chalk it up to them and being short staffed. Overall, it was just kind of a long and interesting one and done experience. I could tell that my waiter was probably the only one there and it took an unnecessarily long time for dinner. He was very attentive in the beginning and took my order right away and then came the waiting. I got the tuna tartare, prime rib, creme brulee. Food turned out just okay. The sourdough bread that came during my entree was pretty good actually. I was glad I had eaten a little bit before, and I was intrigued by their happy hour menu. So decided to do get to the restaurant slightly earlier but then ultimately decided just to get the dine La menu. From the reviews in general here, people are having great dining experiences here. I'm not really sure what happened tonight.

This Marmalade Cafe location is off the beaten path therefore it is not quite as busy as the other locations. It has a large dining room with plenty of seating and some outdoor seating as well. Plenty of parking in the lot as well. This was our first visit to this location. We were greeted when we arrived, the host staff were very friendly. Our server was acceptable but not as attentive as we are used to at the other locations. We love Marmalade as they have a great selection for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Between the three of us we ordered the pancakes and eggs with bacon, bacon and eggs, and the bagel with lox. All the food was fresh and cooked as ordered. The bacon is very good and was cooked perfectly. Th espresso choices are nice as well. The portions are large to either fill you up or enough to take home. If you haven't been to a Marmalade I highly recommend them for consistent yummy breakfast, lunch or dinner. This location did not disappoint.

3.5/5! Points to this place for being able to seat a party as large as 22. We tried the chilaquiles, breakfast burrito, and tacos. The food was adequate though the burrito was a little less flavorful than other burritos we have had. The sauce helped the dishes a lot. We also tried the mango and original mimosa which were both really good. Service was also very attentive which we greatly appreciated.

They should not advertise "vegan options" as the only vegan breakfast option on the menu is the fresh fruit. So it was a mashup of toast and fruit and avocado. My companions enjoyed their egg white omelette and avocado toast which were made with fresh ingredients. Both vegetarian. The restaurant is pleasant as a wide open space with TVs above the bar showing sports (Sunday am). The service was average. Friendly.

I love Marmalade Cafe. I've been coming here for brunch for the past five years. Even though I do not come often, I find that the quality of the meal remains high. Now, I can only speak of their breakfast and brunch options-I actually have never had lunch or dinner here. Just recently, I went for brunch with my sister and sister-in-law. I usually order the Classic Eggs Benedict which was absolutely scrumptious. The poached eggs were perfectly runny without the eggy flavor. I have always appreciated their home fries which are smoky in flavor, yet crispy on the outside with a fluffy center. I am also a fan of their crab cake eggs benedict which has no fishy flavor. I am not sure what spices they use, but it pairs well with the eggs benedict profile. The crab cake is pan-seared which gives the benedict a crispy texture that accompanies the smoothness of the poached egg. My sister ordered the CHAR-GRILLED STEAK & EGGS breakfast which she gave a double thumbs up! My sister-in-law ordered the CROSS CREEK BREAKFAST which she enjoyed, especially because of the pancakes. I have never had pancakes at Marmalade but my family looks forward to them. I'm just not a pancake girlie. Since it was lunchtime, I decided to order the Reuben Sandwich with a side of Caesar Salad. I lived on the east coast for a few years and have had some of the best reubens and pastrami sandwiches. Marmalade's Reuben was not my favorite because the corned beef was kind of fatty. I don't like the texture of fat, so I found it off-putting. Now, I place the fault on me, not the restaurant. Why? Because my sister tried the sandwich and really liked it. She actually ended up finishing it for me! I am just extremely picky with my sandwiches. The salad was also very good!. Do not let this dissuade you from trying Marmalade Cafe.

First time back in a few years, food was good. Prices about average for the quality, staff was friendly and attentive. Party of 8 with tax and tip came out to about $35 per person. Good selection of items for almost anyone's tastes.

Your neighborhood diner meets cutesy and trendy. Marmalade Cafe is in such a fun hub of LA near both the airport and Manhattan Beach; it's a great place to visit if you're relatively local or arrive/departing from your trip to LA! I visited 8:30am on a Tuesday morning and it was pretty empty inside. The service was friendly and very quick, and the breakfast items were delicious! I ordered the three ranch eggs (sunny side) which came with roasted potatoes and sourdough bread. It was a good serving that kept me full for most of the day. Simple but so much flavor!

Great breakfast/brunch place! Waiters were so nice and the food was delicious! I had the chicken and waffles! The chicken was seasoned well not dry. I would definitely recommend. My fiancé had the steak and eggs. Portions were huge and steak was deliciously seasoned.

If you want breakfast or lunch come to Marmalade Cafe. I first went to the Marmalade Cafe in Santa Monica for lunch, but came to the El Segundo location for breakfast. It was so good. I went for the classic waffles and they were delicious. My friend chose to get a basic egg, sausage and toast plate. We were both happy. The service was great and the place is pretty big. Tons of free parking.

As of June 2026 idk how this restaurant can have anything less than 5/5 stars. The service was top tier and the food was excellent. No complaints when it came to cleanliness and presentation. All the servers were very attentive and friendly. This is definitely a restaurant I will be coming back to, I strongly recommend. Unfortunately I didn't take more pictures, but the drinks were amazing as well as you can see.

The Strand House offers good food, goodservice, and amazing views and vibes at reasonable, but upscale prices. We came with my family for an early dinner on a Sunday afternoon. Off the lunch menu we had the Italian panini ($29), which was a surprisingly complex sandwich with mortadella, salami, onions, lettuce, fresh Marzano tomatoes, and many other vegetables. It was served with an exceptional set of fries, which had a great amount of garlic and the perfect blend of crisp on the outside and softness on the inside, along with tangy ketchup. The children got the pasta bolognese ($14), which was a standard bolognese, although the pasta was a little overcooked. We also got a child salmon ($21), a surprisingly generous piece of fish, well cooked with a somewhat crispy exterior and soft interior alongside broccolini and whipped mashed potatoes. The service was decent - our server collected our order, checked on us appropriately, and generally took care of us throughout our visit. As the pictures suggest, the interior is quite upscale, scattered across three floors with a view overlooking the main road and the beach itself. This led to an excellent, breezy atmosphere and spectacular views, perfect for a hot day. Prices are a little on the elevated side, but not excessive, given the highly popular location of this restaurant and excellent views. Overall, The Strand House offers an appropriately upscale lunch or dinner at an elevated price for the discerning customer looking for good food and excellent views with a price to match. But no worries, we love leftovers! Food is always so creative and wonderful.at Tin Roof. Although we no longer live in Manhattan, still one if our favorite restaurants. Food and service are stellar! We started with cocktails, and of course prepared by our favorite bartender / cocktail specialist extraordinaire, Clark. Off Your Head (Bloody Mary) and Ophella's White Sangria. Both were very tasty! Tin Roof has an excellent cocktail program as does their Simmzy's locations. We started out with Brussel Sprouts. Definitely a hit with the whole table. Tin Roof definitely has the best around, flavorful with a nice crunch, never soggy! We all ordered a variery of starters for our first course. Several had Ceasar Salads. Several had the Watermelon and Feta Salad. One had the Bloddy Mary Deviled Eggs, and another had the Fig; Pistashio, and Cottage Cheese Toast. Everyone loved what they ordered. We were full before our next courses arrived! Our server was Malcolm. He was very attentive even though it was an extremely busy afternoon since it was Father's Day. He was very helpful explaining some of the options only offered on today's menu. They offered a Bistro Burger (five out of six of us ordered!) and I wanted to know how different this burger was from their Simmzy's Burger (my personal favorite). He was spot on, explained it was smokey in flavor and quite different with the pretzel bun. The house poke salad, crispy pork gyoza, edamame, grilled jumbo scallop skewers, grilled shrimp skewers, and the Wagyu ribeye yakitori were all packed with incredible flavor. To drink, I had the refreshing Lychee Mocktail, and we also tried King Plus's five-sake flight, which is a great way to experience a variety of authentic Japanese sakes. Then we headed inside for the hot pot experience. We sampled four different broths--Kombu, Tonkotsu, Spicy Miso, and Sukiyaki--before cooking premium beef and fresh seafood right at our table. The Royal Seafood Set featured shrimp, Atlantic salmon, fresh scallops, fish balls, and the chef's curated seafood selection, while the Royal Beef Experience included ribeye, chuck roll, and beef belly. But the highlight for me was the Japanese A5 Miyazaki Wagyu. It was beautifully marbled, incredibly tender, and practically melted in my mouth after just a few seconds in the broth. We wrapped up the meal with a refreshing Yuzu Pop Sparkler, creamy matcha ice cream, and rich matcha cheesecake. When we arrived at our table, they had a card signed by staff congratulating us, and it was a night to remember. They were also understanding when me and my husband were running a few minutes past our reservation time due to fhe baby, and we appreciated the flexibility. I worked in restaurants myself but it definitely affected the experience. If you're dining with a smaller group, I'd recommend sitting at the bar instead. We started with cocktails. I had the Mary Sue ("Pornstar Martini") with vodka, vanilla, passionfruit, salted lime, fino sherry, and champagne foam. YUM. Dangerously good. My husband had the Rob Gentile, an elevated Old Fashioned, and was thoroughly impressed. Service was great, and the food was top-notch. Let's dive in! Meatballs with beef, pork, ricotta, potato purée, tomato sauce, Grana Padano, and arugula--WOW. Cheesy, saucy perfection. Beef Tartare with tonnato, shallot, marjoram, crispy potato, and toast. Delicious and a generous portion. I ordered Coop's Pork Shank with Lambrusco-mustard glaze, aromatic jus, and potato purée. Tender, flavorful, and that broth was incredible. It paired perfectly with the broccolini... ...which we didn't order. We spotted the table next to us enjoying it with burrata and immediately added it to our "next time" list. My son ordered the Chicken Parm with capellini. He loved the huge chicken parm portion, which successfully fed his bottomless teenage appetite, but declared the pasta "too eggy." Teenagers are basically unpaid Michelin critics. My husband ordered the Scarpinocc with braised beef cheek, brown butter, sage, and saba. He loved it, but our resident food critic chimed in with, "I don't really taste the beef." Dessert was the cinnamon bread pudding with ice cream and caramel drizzle--absolutely worth saving room for. Everything was delicious, portions were generous, and we left happy (and full enough to feed a small submarine crew). Definitely coming back!

We really wanted to like this Italian spot, but unfortunately, it just didn't live up to the…read moreexpectations. The pasta was clearly homemade, and you could tell it was fresh, but the actual flavors were very underwhelming. For a place specializing in Italian cuisine, we expected a lot more punch. What really turned us off, though, was the lack of value. For the price of the food, the service policy feels incredibly stingy. They do not give you free refills on drinks, which is ridiculous at this price point--refills should absolutely be included. To make matters worse, you do not get free bread for the table either. Overall, we did not like this restaurant. Between the underwhelming food and being nickel-and-dimed for basic things like bread and drink refills, it is definitely not worth the price tag. We won't be back

We started with the ceviche in Clamato with pieces of crab and avocado served with a delicious tortilla chips. I absolutely loved the flavor profile and couldn't get enough of the Clamato sauce. Then we moved to the weekend only special sea urchin, which Stephanie's parents personally bring down from Santa Barbara for weekend service. I'm usually indifferent at best to sea urchin, but this was excellent Then we shared the Jonah Crab Fusilli, another winner. I was driving, but hubby ordered a banhattan and it was another winner. They also have some beer and wine options as well as a full bar. Though very full by this point, just couldn't resist the pretzel bread pudding. The bread portion was crispy on the outside and warm and soft on the inside with a delicious salty caramel sauce. Served with a very smooth and delectable scoop of ice cream. There's indoor and outdoor seating. If you want to sit inside best to make a reservation. We did not have reservations, but were lucky to get outside seating. Service was fluid with different people coming around to ensure everything was tidy. Really enjoyed one of the staff, a young girl who cleared our table and delivered some of the dishes. Loved her chill surferish vibes.

Definitely suited our sensibilities to be close to the heart of this treasure, plus it can get cold out there! When our friendly and helpful server learned that we'd never been to FwD before, we were both treated a tasty amuse, a Peruvian scallop, one of their specialties. Served chilled, absolute heaven. Simple, fresh, delicious, and very pretty atop its shell. We ordered an appetizer, a different scallop dish, Pan Seared Diver Scallops. (Parsnip-potato puree, brown butter ponzu, capers). So good. Succulent, perfectly cooked and devilishly satisfying with its rich, savory flavor. We enjoyed the one dish that have been on their menu since the beginning, Koshihikari Rice. (short-grain Japanese rice, overnight chicken dashi, shrimp, uni, blue crab, cage-free egg yolk.) Wow. So much happening here, and yet it's a complete package. All the ingredients meld together sumptuously. It akin to Paella, or perhaps to a stuffed Risotto, although the Koshihikari Rice was very much its own dish. The server swerved and mixed the egg yolk on our plate, and we loved it. Our strategy to try a number of dishes and yet still have room for dessert worked. Many great choices, and I doubt we'd be disappointed with anything. However, we had heard from the table next to use that the key-lime pie was must. Happily, they were right. This Key Lime Pie is just sweet and just tart enough. Though I am not Key Lime Pie expert, this one struck me as imaginative with its meringue colony crowding the pie's surface for additional dessert debauchery. There nothing overwhelmingly citrusy about it, and it was light enough to help you feel satisfied and just right. The coffee was good, too. This is a low-key yet lovely dining experience in Manhattan Beach.
