These people are lucky there isn't a no star rating. We walk in as a six top and there was a thirty top right next to us so I know that they are more than capable of handling large groups. The server gets our drink orders wrong and we had to correct her multiple times. I also had to correct her on my food order as well. Every one else got there food in a timely manner except myself and it was obvious she didn't put it in when she came up to me and asked to repeat it. I wanted two pounds of garlic crawfish and a dozen oysters. I would have been completely fine if that was the only issue but the errors kept coming. They brought out wings instead of crawfish. They brought out grilled oysters instead of raw, and when I told them what I wanted I find out that those were the last dozen they had in the entire restaurant. Finally when I finally get my crawfish they're luke warm at best and have no flavor. It was obvious they just boiled them in water and then just dumped a crap to of garlic on it to cover up their mistake. The icing on the cake was when someone else came over and tried to throw away my food not five minutes after I had finally received it. Came here on a fairly busy night. I was promptly greeted and seated at a convenient location. I ordered 3lbs of the garlic blend crawfish, a side of corn on the cob, chef's special fried rice. Our group of friends met our server Tanya and she was very attentive and made sure to check on us frequently. Easy on the eyes. The food was amazing. Overpriced and underwhelming. I used to frequent this place at their old location, especially during the off season. Now, since they are in the new location the food is no longer good and the prices are astronomical. I paid $50 for 2 lbs of crawfish and (1) snow crab cluster, which was skimpy at best. I consider this place the best crawfish place in Houston for this year. It seems to change every year for me. This place is located right next to Vibe so the location has plenty of parking spots. The Kitchen Special is the way to go and extra spicy, the other flavors are really good but the Kitchen Special is by far the best for me. It's filled with garlic flavor with a slight sweet taste to it and drenched in butter and oil *droooool*, definitely tasty and addictive. They have a huge list of other foods that you can order here. The oyster nachos are a great pick for an appetizer. The raw oysters here are pretty delicious as well. I've eaten the King Crab and the Snow Crab here as well and they are just as wonderful as the crawfish! The service is great for the area that it is located in and the servers are extremely nice. The place is as clean as it will get for a Bellaire crawfish store. No need to say that i will come again as I go all the time! read more

Steve V. and I finally tried this place out after hearing a lot of mixed reviews from our friends. We actually stopped by our usual place (Wild Cajun) but it was so unbelievably packed that we decided to go down the street to Cajun Kitchen. There were about four groups in front of us (at 8:30PM), and the wait was about fifteen minutes. We ordered the Vietnamese Oysters and the French Fries as an appetizer. The fries came out super fresh and super hot and Steve liked them. To me, they were just normal fries with Cajun seasoning on top. The Vietnamese Oysters were good and again, Steve absolutely loved them. However, they were just "pretty good" to me. Admittedly, they are different and unique, but for some reason, I wasn't head over heels with them. I would recommend getting maybe a half-dozen just to try it, though. Of course, the main thing we came for was crawfish. The wait for the crawfish is super-long and I admit that normally, we would get really frustrated after ordering when it takes that long, but lucky for us, we know the owner and owner's daughter so she kept us company (also, the Rockets game was on, however, it was one of the more painful games to watch...). The time from when they took our appetizer dishes up to when we actually received our crawfish was probably about half an hour. We ordered three pounds of the Kitchen Special and two pounds of the Thai Basil. When the crawfish finally came out and we tried one of each, we thought we were in heaven. All the crawfish is marinated extremely well where you can taste the actual basil flavor in the meat of the tail. Steve found one mushy (means that it was dead before they cooked) crawfish, and I didn't find any. I was extremely pleased with this and it impressed me even more than the flavors did. This is the first place that I don't need my mayonnaise and sriracha mix to dip the tails in. All in all, I would recommend this place if you want fresh and extremely flavorful crawfish (seriously, the flavors here are bomb, dude). He said both were thai basil, one medium and one suicide. STRIKE 1 - both were thai basil and medium. Then he comes out with another two bowls... I asked him what the flavor and spice level were again and he said both were suicide but one was thai basil and the other was the kitchen special. STRIKE 2 - both were suicide and thai basil I appreciate the waitresses being prompt on fixing the issues since i brought it to their attention but the issues were never fixed. Our waitress was very sweet but she still put in the wrong order in the system and we waited over 30 minutes to find out she made a boo boo and there were 5 other orders in front of us. Delicious crawfish! We came here on January 13th, the beginning of season, but I had a gut feeling the size would be impressive and boy was I right!! There were some medium sized crawfish but most of them were big craw daddies. We asked our waitress about the difference between the flavoring and we opted to for the kitchen flavor, which cost $1 more per pound. Worth it. We ordered 7 pounds of suicide kitchen flavored crawfish and the 7th pound was free! (Their special is buy 6 lbs get one pound free) Plus we had the 5% off for checking in on Yelp. Finger. Sucking. Nose. Running. No. Shame. Swollen. Red. Lips. Good. The kitchen special was a little sweet, which accompanied the salty crawfish perfectly, there were onions and oranges with garlic and butter and little bit of heaven. I was surprised that it was actually spicy, which is hard for me to say and to come across considering I eat fire, so I was very impressed with the spice level. We also ordered the crawfish bread for the little one and she loved it! The rest of the table seemed to am have enjoyed it as well. Me, however, not really. It wasn't crispy enough to my liking. The oysters were fresh and hot and flavorful. One time I visited they forgot about my order of oysters and when I mentioned it they comped our oysters! Now that's customer service. Do not order their garlic noodles. It's a waste of fifteen bucks. It's not good and it's nothing special. Just avoid at all cost. I wanted to return it as soon as I tried the first bite because it sucked that much. But it doesn't work that way so we just left the full plate sitting on the table to entire time. We met some friends here tonight and were a bit skeptical about driving an hour for crawfish. We ordered the jumbo Thai basil and garlic butter. Oh my gosh they were both amazing but the Thai basil was a favorite! Best and biggest crawfish we have ever had, enough said. Restaurant is very clean, food is fresh and service was great! We will be making the drive again, it is well worth it!! Update - 2/11/2017 Met our friends again for more fabulous crawfish, the Thai basil spicy won the night! Mmmmmmm finally had crawfish for the first time this season!! It was super crowded when we went (Sunday night, around 7:30) so even though it was chilly, we opted for a table outside. I tried Thai Basil, Garlic and Kitchen special flavors - all delicious, but Thai Basil was the best and most flavorful in my opinion. And even at medium spicy, my lips were burning! Only about 5% of the critters were smaller than ideal, we even got a huge monstrosity. All fresh and delicious. French fries - came out quickly, hot, crispy and good Corn nuggets - YUM. Fried okra - make from fresh okra, pretty good, average. Came with ranch sauce Wings - lemon pepper was good Service was actually pretty awesome. Medium sized place with 24 inside tables and 4 picnic benches on the small but breezy patio. Clean women's restroom, 1 big screen projector, 2 medium sized tv's (36-40in) in the dinning area and 2 small tv's at the bar. THE SERVICE: My time here started off rough. I came in with my son (7yrs old) we were greeted by a nice fish aquarium but no hostess. We stood there for little over a minute waiting to be seated. I decided to walk to the bar and ask if we sit anywhere or will someone seat us as we've been standing at the door (my son was still there) for over a minute. One of the 10 girls behind the bar said. Go sit and I'll bring you menus. Ok no problem. It is a nice day so we decided on an outside table. When I tell you we sat outside for every bit of 15mins with absolutely no service!!! I was so pissed I went back inside to see all the staff standing around in the dinning area as if they had nothing to do! I approached one of the staff members and asked if there was waitstaff for the patio. She spoke no English so we decided if we came in it'll be faster. She actually went to get an African American waitress which raised my blood pressure. I just wanted to order food not cause problems. THE FOOD: We ordered 2lbs of garlic butter crawfish$7.99/lb, petite popcorn shrimp basket $10.25 with (sub) $2 sweet potato fries, shrimp Diablo($7.00) and a mean glass of house Pinot Grigio! The crawfish were very fresh... You can still taste the grit! The seasoning wasn't over powering but the medium heat was HOT AS HELL! The petite popcorn shrimp basket with sweet potato fries was plentiful. Very large portion. The shrimp Diablo was very good... Fresh bacon wrapped shrimp with cheese and jalapeño. No dipping sauce comes with it so I asked for ranch. The house wine $4.99/glass the brand is NAKED which was simply fresh and great for me! Why yes, I'm the type of individual who will drive two plus hours for the start of crawfish season. While I'm sure there are some places in my current town that know how to boil crawfish, I'm certainly not upset I went to Houston for some mudbugs. While the crawfish was understandably a bit on the small size, the important part is that the marinade they used seeped deep into the tail meat. Since we ordered the "Fatass", we received a ton of prawns and a cluster of snow crab along with the order. After we decided that we actually enjoyed the snow crab even more than the crawfish, we were talked into ordering some crabs marinated in tamarind sauce by one of the waitresses. WHY IS NO ONE TALKING ABOUT THE TAMARIND CRABS???? A heavy citrus marinade envelops deep fried crab and has excellent taste. While this is quite possibly one of the least healthy renditions of crab I have ever eaten, I don't care. It was pretty phenomenal in its own right. We also ordered some boudin balls which were well above standard in my opinion. I see that Cajun Kitchen isn't getting too much love apparently because their service is slow (it does take a bit to get your food, but sometimes, it pays to wait for awesome food), but I can't agree that it's enough to lower the experience further than 4 stars. My friends and I use to love coming to this place because they had good crawfish. Today, however, we decided we wouldn't want to come back here anymore. The reason I would come back again: 1) I do like their Kitchen Special flavor 2) they did have live crawfish for it being "not crawfish season". Reasons I would NOT come back: 1) when our whole group finally sat down, no waitstaff came to get our order until we finally waved someone down 2) it took 1.5hrs to get our food, this is after we asked them to check on the status of our food 3) snow crabs tasted really fishy 4) they don't split your check... And even when they do, you have to calculate how much to split the check by. 5) very rude when asked to split the check for us 6) do not check on tables or give refills (empty water and tea all night) 7) several tables that came in after us got their food way before us. Maybe I just went on a wrong day. So crawfish season is back. My boyfriend and I love eating crawfish. We're always on a hunt for the next best place. Last year I had such a great impression of this place and the way they make their crawfish. I was so excited to try the crawfish again. My high hope came crashing down. We order both special and garlic. The house special, it was full of oil/grease and sauce. My crawfish was drowned and soaked. As for garlic, there was just too much garlic. Usually I just like ordering garlic butter crawfish at crawfish places, but the "kitchen special" here at CK is on point and the only time I won't order garlic butter! I come here just for that! It has a very tasty garlicky citrusy flavour to it, and I like straining out the broth from the crawfish they bring out to use as a dipping sauce instead of mayo/butter... Makes the crawfish even more juicier! Try it out! And to be consistent, I tried their garlic butter as well, and I actually don't like it compared to other restaurants. I came here on a Friday night with my boyfriend around 8pm and it was a full house. We were put down a waiting list, but since the people ahead of us were coming in as groups and it was just my boyfriend and I, the worker was generous to sit us at the bar. My boyfriend has gotten the fried catfish Po boy sandwich and he could not believe how amazing it was, they have a special sauce they put onto the sandwich that was soooooooo good! The catfish was bigger than the bread, which is good bc it's better than given a small fish that doesn't fulfill your bread, right? We also had oyster nachos, those were cooked perfectly and so good! Service has always been spot on, worth paying extra for crawfish by the pound. They have different flavors you can add some like Thai basil flavor costs extra but totally worth it. I used to go to LA Crawfish until I tried Cajun Kitchen. They serve quality crawfish. You have to try the "Kitchen Special" crawfish, it is absolutely full of flavor. It's like garlic butter but better. It has a little bit of a tangy flavor due to the lemons. I think they may charge a little extra for it though. My husband says you can't fill yourself up on crawfish. You always have to have something else with crawfish. We always order their crawfish bread. CRAWFISH bread!!! You have to eat it quickly though because it does become soggy pretty quickly though. Either way though, it's still good. The boudin balls are good too. We always order their "chef special" fried rice too. I think next time, I will try something else besides the fried rice. It tastes like any other fried rice dish you can get on Bellaire Blvd. They have a big parking lot and I've never had to wait to get a table. We take my 4-month old baby so it is a spacious place. The staff has always been very nice and attentive. I just learned of their "check-in" on yelp deal too...which is a big plus. This is my all-time favorite place to get crawfish. =) read more

Well we were heading to Jolyn for crawfish but there was a 45 minutes wait for the crawfish at 5:30pm on Sunday with only probably no more than 4 groups of people in the restaurant. We were able to be seated (since it was pretty empty) but the food would take long. So we went for Cajun Kitchen we saw on the way. My husband loves this place now. We have only been twice and both experiences were good. I wouldn't recommend the kitchen style flavor. Just not our taste I guess but some people seem to like it. The garlic butter here is good and the raw oysters are a lot bette than wild Cajun. Here is our list: Shrimp with bacon-ok, not they good Stuffed mushrooms-I like them but my husband doesn't Calamari-not that good. Just ok. Crab cakes-ok Corn-good Potatoes-really good Garlic butter crawfish spicy - pretty good. The good thing is after you peel the crawfish the meat inside absorbs the sauce. That day the ($8.49 per pound) crawfish was decently sized and good but had about the same flavoring as it's competition down the street. There's 5 levels of spicy and I went with the spicy garlic and it was perfect. Tasteful and not flaming hot. They didn't over do it on the garlic which I like because I didn't have to pop breath mints after eating nor did I have to continue to wash my hands through out the day to rid myself of the crawfish smell. We also order a dozen raw oysters which were tasteful if not a tad on the small size when compared to other establishments. The Vietnamese-styled oysters were not that great as many have claimed (kind of dry and loaded with scallions). The Tamarind wings were just okay. Service was a little on the non-existence side even though it was not busy. None of us got our skins bucket dumped the entire time we were there. Drinks were not refilled and no one really checked on us throughout the entire two hours. My friend could not order ice tea that day because apparently the person that makes ice tea was not available. They charge you 25 cent for a bib. Not expensive in the least but kind of laughable when you think about it. 50 cents for ranch. Upon checkout if you want to use the 5% off deal that you get for checking in on yelp-you better make sure the manager is available because apparently the rest of wait staff does not know the button on the cash register for it.
