I would give this place 4 stars but taking away one star because of the service.
We ordered a glass of peach tea, the kitchen special crawfish, crawfish fried rice, and sweet potato fries.
Peach tea: I liked this drink, the peach flavor isn't overpowering, which makes this drink very pleasant to drink. There's like tiny almost jello like bits in it.
Kitchen special crawfish: we were told that this is a garlic butter, orange lemon flavor and so we decided to get it. There wasn't much garlic butter taste it in but the flavor was still pretty good. Price per pound (right now $11.99) is still pretty expensive but I will say that their crawfishes were pretty big. Please also note that I haven't been to any other crawfish places this year so not sure if they are the only ones with big crawfishes right now. I ordered corn but they were not tossed in with the sauce, which is both a good and bad thing for me. Good thing because I don't like spicy corn (it would be spicy from the spicy sauce), but bad thing that there's no flavor to the corn. But I just simply doused my corns in the sauce in the bowl, so not a big deal really.
Crawfish fried rice: I was a bit disappointed with this dish because the taste was pretty bland. There wasn't any unique taste to it nor did the crawfish bring out any unique taste to it.
Sweet potato fries (TERRIBLE SERVICE PART): So this tasted like your typically sweet potato fries. However, I discovered a piece of hair in it. I can tell you that it wasn't my hair because 1) the fries were place further away from me, 2) my hair was tied up, and 3) when I tried to pull it out, the hair was actually stuck to either a fry or paper because I couldn't pull it out. So I flagged a waiter down and I told/showed him the hair. He didn't say anything to me and just took the plate and went back inside the kitchen. Within a minute later, he came out to ask me what I wanted him to do because the kitchen was "full of dudes." My reaction immediately was that it wasn't my hair because it's tied up and that piece of hair (that was found in the food) was stuck in it. Further, they had female waitresses in and out of the kitchen carrying food in and out. Then he proceeded to ask if I just wanted another plate, and we say yeah. I AM BAFFLED at how this waiter pretty much implied that it was my hair. THAT IS SO RUDE. Further, NO ONE apologized at any point. I also noticed that many of their female waitresses that had hair longer than their shoulders didn't tie their hair up, I thought under Texas law that hair restraints had to be use if there is a high risk of contamination to exposed food, and to prevent hair from contacting food. It's one thing that no one came to apologize BUT it is also another thing to pretty much try to blame the customer. I don't appreciate that server who pretty much implied that it was my hair, because it wasn't.
So when we got the "new" order of sweet potato fries, I'm not sure if it was really a new batch or if they just gave me the same plate because the fries were pretty soggy and not hot at all, but who knows... read more
