Love this place!! Saw the new renovations tonight for the first time and the place looked gorgeous. High ceilings, full bar with a couple of tv sets. Food was excellent! Had several of the appetizers, but my favorite was the eggplant dish. For my meal I had the veal with lemon & capers, which was delicious! I don't understand the bad reviews. The food we just ate was exquisite. We agreed it was the best calamari ever. Also had A grilled vegetable dish with Grilled shrimp. It was the best I've ever had. I can't tell you how many times if get something grilled and it tastes like funk. Obviously they clean their grilles properly. Also, since the last time we have been it has been renovated. A new bar which we ate at. Just beautiful. Caffe Itri is well liked in the local community, we thought we would give it a shot and overall we were disappointed. The service has been great the few times we have gone there. Our meals on the other hand were average. We enjoyed the mussel and pizza appetizer but our main pasta dishes were disappointing. My wife and I went again last night with both of my kids and their significant others, and once again they did not disappoint! We ordered an assortment of five different appetizers to start and they were all terrific, from the calamari to the fried mozzarella. The waitress paid very close attention to us making sure that everyone in the group had drinks when they wanted them, bread, etc. The entrees were well portioned and very tasty. The prices are reasonable for the quality of the food that you will get. If you want a really fun waiter ask for Ryan ... He's terrific! Salad I order was overly soaked in dressing which shows a lack of understanding of food. Ambience is great for a romantic date. Calamari was excellent but overall the food was just average (based on the veal parm and the pasta dish with added grilled chicken). Service was very slow and when my pasta dish didn't come with the chicken I had asked for the waitress said they had paged her and she would be back with it. I have been eating at this restaurant for almost ten years and it has always been good. They offer the Italian classics and there own Italian dishes. They have large lunch and dinner menus and prices are what you would expect of the area (very fair). My mother and I always split the warmed beat salad that comes with baked beats, goat cheese, and candied walnuts. For an entree I usually get the rigatoni chicken. Beautifully renovated Cafe Itri. Atmosphere is charming and romantic with Italian music playing in the background, white table cloths and excellent head of house and service A! The food was delicious. Be sure to try the Itri egg rolls...different and delicious, filled with brocolli rabe, sausage and cheese and a delicious dipping sauce. Great cocktail menu along with a nice wine selection. Vanessa, our server was attentive without being overbearing, and the hostess even came to our table twice to make sure everything was perfect! We made a late evening stop here for my husband's birthday and we were very glad we did! Appetizer was delish (Clam Zuppa) and our selection for dinner were also tasty! We had the most amazing dinner here last night. The clams casino were delicious and very flavorful. The lobster tortellini was absolutely amazing so I took my time so I could savor each bite. The Rigatoni Bolognese was equally as amazing and and my husband (who really isn't a pasta eater) couldn't get enough of it. The staff as always very attentive as was the hostess. If you are looking for a great Italian dinner make sure to stop here you won't regret it. What a way to celebrate our Anniversary dinner. Couldn't have asked for anything better. I can't even began to say how much I love this restaurant! I've moved away from RI, but I often come back to visit my family and Caffe Itri must always now be included in my visit. My family is from Italy, so I know what Italian food is supposed to taste like and Caffe Itri hits it right on the mark! Last night, my friends and I enjoyed a "back to school" dinner together at Cafe Itri. The atmosphere was relaxing, the manager was extremely personable, and the waitress was hospitable. The menu offered a variety of appetizers and entrees. Don't forget to ask about the specials!! The entrees were outstanding, followed by the delicious desserts. Had a party of 4 with reservations for Friday at 6:30. We were bright to our take immediately. Loved the new decor, a good sized menu with many choices. My dinner was delicious but my husbands Veal Parmesan was really tough. Our waiter, Mike fell all over the tables around us (seemingly regulars) and we felt like mere afterthoughts. They came in well after us, got their drinks first, told the specials (never mentioned to us). Heard that this was really phenom. fresh, and homemade style Italian. Last night was my first visit there. Within a stone's throw from Marchetti's, in the Little Italy section of Knightsville. Parking was good, the restaurant is on the smaller side, with so so decor, and uncomfortable chairs. The menu was extensive, with prices on the higher side. I missed it, but apparently there is a blurb on the menu about the food taking longer due to the fresh preparation that goes into each dish. I believe this to be true. Tried the Caprese salad, it was served with gritty pesto-wash your basil! The bread basket and olive oil were standard. I got a baked penne w/Bolognese sauce that was on special, it was great, but there was too much food. It was the size of a casserole I'd make at home. The pasta tasted like homemade to me. Only real downside is that we were overcharged by about $4. I politely asked the server about it, and it was fixed in a jiffy. I'll go back someday for bar and pizza only. Went here with a large party for Dinner Food was really good, Fresh, Authentic Italian Food and the staff was very goof and seemed to really care about our service. The freshly made pasta 2as outstsnding and the chicken parm which i gadge most Italian resturants on was very good. Absolutely delicious! I can't say enough! Not just about the food, but the service. My boyfriend and I went there last night to celebrate our engagement. Ryan was our server and he was pleasant, accommodating and whitty. My boyfriend had the fruitti di mare, and I had the gulf shrimp and mushroom risotto. DELICIOUS!!!! We split the calamari and smoke mozzarella app. Again....DELICIOUS! Then we ended our date nite with the creme brûlée and tiramisu. I'm sorry to say my experience here tonight was dreadful. Cafe Itri considered a SLIGHTLY higher scale restaurant in Cranston, absolutely atrocious service this evening. Yes, COVID-19 has everyone in dissary however, I haven't experienced such awful customer service EVER during this pandemic by any and all different types of restaurants in this city. We were told for our $100.00 order, our takeout would be ready in a hour. Well, 2.5 hours later, are meals had still not come out. The female working the "front" was also in shambles. She did not communicate with any of the 30+ customers waiting in line for hours. I will not go back and probably won't unless theyfigured their shit out. However I rather spend my money and help out restaurants that actually appreciate their customers during this hard time. Foods always great but damn, it isn't that hard and don't lie to your paying customers. At the very least tell them your experiencing major back up and apologize for the inconvenience. They didn't even say a WORD. read more

I ordered from Caffe Itri on Saturday night, and yes, my $100 order took a long time..much longer than what was said. Although what I do know is that most people were understanding and the staff was doing the very best that they could with the situation at hand. When we finally did get the food it was delicious as always. Having frequenting this restaurant many times I knew that this was not the norm and the women in charge was handling it the best she could, constantly apologizing and running around crazy to make sure everyone got their order. I also saw the cooks and wait staff working very hard and as fast as they could. This is a very stressful and anxious time for all of us...nothing is normal anymore. In these concerning times I choose to find the good (the food was excellent) and not focus on the bad or put people down when clearly they were doing the best they could. As I was watching, I was thinking to myself, I wouldn't want to be any of these workers. I do plan on ordering again...deciding it is truly worth the wait!! read more

We had reservations at Cafe Itri on Sat. 2/23/19 for 8pm for 9 guests. We waited for our table for 40 minutes after our reservation time b/c a group of ladies were seated since 6pm and wouldn't get up so we had to wait and wait. The staff were very apologetic as there was nothing they could do regarding the other party. Well it was absolutely worth the wait. The appetizers were delicious, our server, Nick, was fantastic, and our dinners and drinks were served promptly. This is the best restaurant in Cranston - hands down. And Tommy at the bar is a fantastic bartender. The prices are very reasonable, the service amazing and the food was out of this world. I would recommend Cafe Itri without hesitation. read more

We arrived at cafe Itri Monday night after 8pm. Even though they close at 9pm we were greeted warmly. We were not rushed at all. The ambience is pretty romantic. Perfect for our date night. We were given a small table near the window away from everyone. We shared the eggplant rollatini app. It arrived pretty quickly and was steaming hot & delicious. I ordered the ravioli and my boyfriend got the fusilli chicken asparagus. Both plates arrived at the table piping hot. Our food was delicious. I'm eating the leftovers as I type. The portions are great and the service was wonderful and they have one of my favorites wines by the glass. Couldn't ask for more! read more

My husband and I went for dinner waited to be served a drink at the bar while the bartender was too busy bullshitting with a friend who was also a server, followed by a delinquent waiter who for whatever reason felt we were not worth his time and presented to the table and said "do you have any questions." Visited last Saturday night, dined on the lovely outdoor patio... Food & drinks were a 10, as well as the service!! Can't wait to go back!

This place should be on every ones must try list. The interior is very classic but very elegant. They have been the winner of wine spectators wine of the year and you can definitely see why, that have an extensive wine list that will meet everyone's pallet. The menu was the most difficult part for me because everything sounded so delicious, the baked mushrooms app was outstanding for my entree I had the chicken sorrentino which was seared chicken topped with eggplant, house made mozzarella and finished in a Madeira sauce, The mashed potatoes were delicious as well. My girlfriend had the chicken parmigiana with fresh rigatoni which was equally delicious. For dessert we split a homemade tiramisu which was outstanding. Overall this is a place that I would highly to recommend to anyone. Our serve Lynn went above and beyond and she was right on top of our every need, she really made the night. I will be sure to ask for her next time, all of the staff there was very pleasant and professional, everyone said hello and goodbye with a smile. My husband and I have been dining here for many years and have always been pleased with the food and service. We have introduced many of our friends to this restaurant. Tonight, four of us (our family of three plus an out-of town guest) arrived for dinner The restaurant was very busy as it was a Saturday night. We were told by the hostess that the wait would be approximately 20 minutes--an understandable wait. We were still waiting approximately 30 minutes later when a table for four opened up. The same hostess that had greeted us choose to seat a party of three that had arrived well after we had at the table (we were the only other party waiting so there was no confusion). When we protested, the hostess ridiculously claimed that the table would only accommodate three people! (A table for four that only seats three people--a new invention perhaps??) We left, never to return. Did I mention that we are white and our guest was black? Seems like racism is alive and well here in 2013. read more
