I've been to cafes around the area, and nothing quite compares to Caffe Bene. Is it the atmosphere? The gentle k-pop playlists? The free wifi and outlets? The interior design? The free parking garage? THE ANSWER IS YES. It's all of these. I come here again and again to study and work and it the perfect study spot. I've seen teams come here to do work, as well as individuals just looks for chill spaces. The chill coffee shop vibes are STRONG with this one. There are plenty of seats, but they DO fill up around noon (even on weekdays)! The only downside is that the menu items are a little more expensive than your average cafe. The coffee drinks are pretty good, but the food is hit or miss. (Hot tip: don't get any of the bagel sandwiches, the bagel is not toasted when they serve it to you). The croissant with ham and cheese is pretty good though, it's hard to go wrong with a croissant. I will continue to praise Caffe Bene as the superior chill study spot until I am proven otherwise. I needed a nice study spot and this was the perfect environment for that! I came on Sunday around opening time so it was pretty empty but started getting busier around 11am. The ambiance was perfect for studying or catching up with friends. A cute setup with lots of natural light and many tables. I ordered a mint cold brew latte with almond milk and they allowed me to adjust the sweetness which was nice. Overall the drink was nothing special and didn't have much of a coffee taste. Had a mid-morning break between daytrading and headed over. Iced Americano for my fasting fat ass. Barista even made a pup cup for my boy and he devoured it. Had a phenomenal trading day. At first glance it appeared to be a craft bakery-cafe. However, ordering at the counter, picking up your food, and bussing your own table automatically mean a minimal, if any, tip from me. I chose a ham and egg croissant, which is hard to get wrong...Burger King serves millions a day. What I received was an abomination. It came drenched in an overly sweet, syrupy, honey-mustard sauce. Some wilted, perhaps sautéed, spinach was bunched in my sandwich and on the platter. I couldn't tell if it was a mistake, a garnish, a side, or an insult. Only reason I'm not giving this place 5 stars is because the service attitude isn't the best. I've been here a few times and have yet to see any employee smile or greet me upon walking in. I came here with my friend around 11am yesterday. There is street or garage parking (retail space spots) around the corner. The vibes of this cafe is nice. But I expected so much more from the food. I paid almost $10 for ham & cheese croissant which is basically a Costco croissant and cheap deli meat. I don't mind that they're reselling pastries for 10x the cost but it looks so unappetizing. They didn't even bother putting some effort to make it look nice. It didn't taste good either. So disappointed. The red velvet latte tasted like watered down milk. They probably use Nesquick syrup because the color was nice but absolutely no flavor. I can't speak for the matcha latte my friend ordered. This place was filthy. My friend and I spent maybe 90mins there and the countertops to put your used dishes have not been clean. There were countless of dirty plates and utensils there. What draws me to Caffe Bene are the enjoyable Kpop events here! This is a cafe located between some business areas, so it's also a nice stop for buying a refreshing drink. I've bought drinks those times, too, and the drinks have always been average. However, I went yesterday with my friends, and 3/4 of us did not like our drinks. Two of us ordered frappes and the third ordered a caramel macchiato. I ordered a Vanilla frappe but it tasted like a blended flavor of vanilla and mocha and was on the sweet side for me. The other frappe was matcha, but it tasted like a blend of matcha and some citrus, and the citrus tasted overpowered the matcha. The events are fun and it's a cute spot for studying and catching up. Small cafe at the corner of Tasman and Zanker - frequented by techies working away over the weekend. I met a couple of old college buddies there yesterday, one who was visiting the country with his family, and another who lives in Silicon Valley. I got there early and there was no indoor seating available, so I assembled an outdoor space for us by cleaning a table and pulling chairs from other tables. After waiting 10 minutes, I walked into the cool air conditioning inside to get a cold coffee (it was 90+ outside) and snagged a freshly vacated table to wait for my friends. The cold coffee was mediocre at best, and when my friends showed up a few minutes later, I joined them in well made creamy-frothy cappuccinos, which hit the spot (or maybe it was the company!). Food choices are limited, but I wasn't hungry so it didn't matter. Parking was easily available in the indoor parking area behind the coffee shop (there are other restaurants and retail establishments at this location) and the bathrooms were adequate. Will be back (for a cappuccino) next time I'm in the area. read more

This was my first, and likely last visit to this coffee spot. Pros: Ample parking, spacious light filled seating area, and a large selection of coffee drinks and pastries. Cons: The person who took our order was also changing out the trash bag. She then proceeded to assist the barista WITHOUT WASHING HER HANDS. I thought about asking them to remake our drinks. Came here for the first time. Nice little corner location. My issue is it was $6 for a tiny coldbrew with nothing added to it (see picture). Since i hadnt been here before I didn't realize how tint the drinks are. I wish the Bay Area had more cute cafes like this. This place is located underneath apartments so parking is in a garage but it is very easy to access and navigate. A lot of people either come here to hang out or work so beware that seats may be taken and the space inside is a bit cramped because they try to fit as many people as possible. Even though people come to catch up the noise levels are not loud which makes it a nice environment to also work. The day I went they were unfortunately out of the brick toasts which looked soooo good so hopefully next time I come back hopefully I can try them. I got the hazelnut latter and strawberry waffle. The latter was served in a glass mason jar type cup since I ordered in. The drink was not really sweet and I really didn't get the hazelnut flavor but still overall the coffee brews good here. The waffle was on the cakier side compared to a light and airy waffle. It did get hard to cut because of that consistency alongside the flimsy plastic cutlery they gave us. Also please be patient if you go here because in between taking orders the cashier is also making drinks. The place is super busy and people come and go and I only saw 3 people working. My mom loved the chai tea latte here which means a lot since she's a woman who makes her own homemade authentic chai everyday. read more

I came to this spot for a little productive study session with friends on a Saturday at 11 AM. My friend had already grabbed us a table because she had come earlier that day, but by the time I came, the place was packed. I ordered a lychee rose tea and a strawberry shortcake. Lychee Rose Tea: I felt like I had ordered a drink at a boba spot! Super sweet, super yum, and the little petals and fruit bits added a nice touch. If you know anything about my yelp reviews, you know that I absolutely love sweet things, so this one is definitely for all of my sweet tooths out there. Strawberry shortcake: This is an asian place, so it was to be expected that the desserts wouldn't be too sweet. The strawberries were sweet and the cream wasn't overly sweet. It definitely wasn't bad, but I've had a lot better shortcakes than this one. My next item would be the cheesecakes because of the large selection. I'm giving this place four stars because of how closely packed the tables are. I understand that having more tables can bring in more customers, but it was too loud to even hear if they had music playing in the background. While walking to go pick up my drink, I had to say "excuse me" like five different times between the ten steps I was taking to get to the counter. Was super excited to try it out since I'm new in town but the 3 girls working on Sunday morning 5/11/25 were super rude, not just to me but to other customers as well. This is a really warm and inviting place. Located in the retail space of an apartment building. There is a lot of parking in the lot, but it was at max capacity when I got there. My friends and I came after a 5K at great america. I was able to find parking in the lot, but they had to find street parking. Inside, all of the tables were taken. We were able to grab the barstool seats near the window though. They've got a wide variety of drinks and desserts. I was intrigued by the red velvet latte, but opted for the lavender latte since it had coffee. There was no line, so that was nice. The coffee came out pretty quick and it was delicious! The bread wasn't toasted so it was soft and chewy. I also got the red velvet latte with soy milk. It was very watered down. I was barely able to taste the flavor of the red velvet. It's as if I was just drinking milk with a little bit of red velvet flavor. I know soy milk isn't very creamy but I usually get it with matcha at a well known coffee shop and it still tastes very good. Strawberry & banana Belgian waffle: 3.5/5 stars Wow! The presentation was pretty! It looked very good. The whipped cream, chocolate drizzles, and fruit complimented the waffle. However, the waffle was pretty dense and dry. I was able to eat all of it in one sitting but I would've preferred a waffle that's a little more moist! Their strawberry latte was very light and the perfect amount of sweetness. I may come back to try their other desserts. Most of their cake/dessert slices run about $9.50 each. Very disappointed to see it came in a tiny glass mug when the photo clearly shows it's in a tall Collins glass. Finished it in about 4 sips. Sockets are limited. Most tables are grooved. The wood grain has clear coat so the texture interferes with an optical mouse. Not the best for getting work done. There are a couple of smooth tabletops but they're situated away from any outlets.
