Caffe Bene, located in north San Jose is one of the few cafes in Bay Area that's open late till 8pm. With free wifi, some great local coffee and a collection of pastries from the famous Satura Patisserie along with some classic breakfast and sandwich options, it certainly ticked all my checklist items! I got a lavender vanilla latte and a slice of cake and both of them did not disappoint! The wifi here is great as well incase you wish to get some work done. Surrounded by a bunch of companies, this place has an optimal location as it is right at the intersection of Tasman and Zanker which is surrounded by apartments and Cisco. Once you walk in you'll be impressed at the ambiance it gives off. The dark textured brick walls paired with wood accents give off a beautiful modern cozy setting that makes it easily for anyone to get work done. To the left of the cafe will be where you can order food and drinks. Which is tempting because they have a display case of all the goodies they have. The menu was fairly big enough but not little to give you options. I had gotten the Mango Mojito and my girlfriend got the Strawberry Latte both drinks were phenomenally tasty. The Mango Mojito (No Alcohol here) was refreshing and the mango chunks allowed for a little snack. Caffe Bene has one of the most delicious hazelnut iced lattes but the downside is you have to pay extra for oat milk. I'm all for paying for extras but it's a little difficult for me to justify paying a little over a dollar more for Costco Kirkland branded oat milk which we all know is less costly than Oatly oat milk. Customer service is friendly. They can get busy during peak lunch hours so sometimes it does take a little longer for drinks to come out. One of my favorite things to do is check out coffee/cafes around the bay to get some school work done, and this place might just be my new go-to. Caffe Bene is located in a small shopping center and there's a large garage which makes it easily accessible. I didn't have a hard time finding it either and frankly i love this place. Inside there's a variety of seating with nice decor. There's a cute book shelf area, bar seating, and even outdoor seating. Here you can order a wide variety of lattes, coffees, or desserts. I saw on the menu that there's a red velvet latte!!! Unfortunately I'm a black coffee kind of girl so i didn't order that, but maybe if I'm feeling a little sweeter than usual I'll give it a try. In order to get the Wi-Fi for a first timer you'll be required to purchase something at the front counter. The Wi-Fi code comes printed at the bottom of your receipt. I just got a simple black coffee which was very fragrant and had a nice roast essence to it. They have some food you can order here and maybe next time I'll come back with a friend to share the sweet treats. My only complaint would be that there aren't many outlets available if you plan to work for a few hours. Had a triple shot of espresso with a chocolate cake on a Saturday morning and it was great. The shop faces south with big windows that let a lot of fresh sun light in. Folks are super nice, very friendly and inviting. Was given a hello even though its was my first time getting coffee. They also have a large cake and pastry selections. Drinks: 3/5 the iced americano/ or all of their coffee beans are dark roast so you don't really taste any notes in all of their espresso drinks. Teas are from tea bags, so not much room for error. Cleanliness: 3/5 since it's a cafe, there's a ton of small debris like tissues or receipts around the tables. Not a major issue but would appreciate a more frequent sweep. This is a perfect place to catch up with friends, do some work, or just to enjoy a nice afternoon treat by yourself. Great study spot--if you can find a seat! It's one of the few comfortable places to study in the area, with a great atmosphere. However, it can get overwhelming when it's crowded. I'm not a big coffee drinker, so I can't speak for their coffee, but the lychee rose tea is pretty good. My go-to (for getting the WiFi password) is the matcha strawberry however its consistency varies--sometimes it's a smooth, milky strawberry drink, and other times, it's just straight up strawberry jam at the bottom. read more

Great little coffeeshop in the Milpitas/SJ area w/ decent hours and a large enough seating area for you to settle in w/ some coffee and lunch to get some work done. Outlets are a bit rare here so you may have to run your power block behind someone's chair, but otherwise there is plenty of room for group studying and/or team collaboration. Prices are standard for coffeeshop items as expected, but their desserts are a bit more pricey than normal. Food is decent and their desserts are Asian inspired so they're not too sweet and are light enough to keep you awake. Staff is hit or miss and can sometimes give you standard gen z apathy, but sometimes they're reasonably motivated and will help tidy the place up during busy hours. Not too many options in this area during this time of the day, but otherwise recommended if you need a quick cup to go or a place to work for a few hours. read more

I take up a lot of space while studying so I really appreciated those big tables. My only compliant with the environment is the lack of charging outlets. It made it difficult sit where I want. As for the food, it was decent. Nothing spectacular. I got the Cafe Seoul and my friend got a classic Hazelnut Mocha. It was good enough for our study session but I wouldn't recommend coming here just for the coffee. I really wanted to try the honey bread but I didn't have the chance. Maybe next time! read more

My best friend and I decided to check this cafe out ! We went on a Saturday and it was so packed that it was tough to find a spot. Maybe we came on the wrong day but it seems like it's a cafe full of college students studying. Everyone had a laptop or book out. The vibe was very different and chaotic. I actually felt very claustrophobic as the tables and chairs are so close to one another. The cafe felt so hot as well and stuffy. It was also so loud and I couldn't focus on my conversation. It was definitely not a place to relax! The waffle was good but overpriced. I paid near 10 bucks for the whole thing and it's not that big. It was tasty but nothing mind blowing. I ate it pretty fast so that we could leave. I could pay 10 bucks at a high end restaurant for a much better dessert. I definitely won't be coming back as it's not my type of place to relax. Not my favorite coffee shop in terms of ambiance, price point, and studying place. The interior is decently modern but very crammed. Tables are crammed together so there isn't much wiggle room to navigate between tables and are risk of knocking someones things over. The windows have not been cleaned due to the large amounts of spiderwebs when looking up. That's how i knew the place kinda does the minimum in terms of cleaning (see photo). The drink we ordered was a really basic tea which ended up being 5+ dollars. I mean tea bag + hot water, not like a green tea latte. Strange to cost so much for hot water and a tea bag. With regards to this being a suitable study place, the wifi is fast. However, the store plays kpop music so loud that it breaks through noise cancelling headphones with music playing through them. This seems to be a more social place instead pf a studying location so if you're looking to get some work done, I'd recommend you go to another store. read more
