We waited for about ten minutes by the wait to be seated sign, only 2 tables had people seated, the people kept ignoring us even though I was on crutches and obviously not comfortable standing. Finally a girl comes by, seats us, says she'll be back with water, but then walks past us several times...finally a guy that's been standing around doing nothing for the past 10 minutes apologizes for the long wait, and says he'll come back with water and yay! He does! He also takes our order, we just got the flatbread, which came out fairly quickly, but wayyyy underdone. It then took them forever to bring us the bill, they kept walking around us, but never any eye contact, refilling my empty water, or checking up on us. How did I miss this restaurant all this time?? We went here for the first time last Saturday evening because it was close and we were hungry. First, big shout out to our server Raquel who was so helpful, attentive and generally pleasant to talk to. This was some of the best food I have had in months if not longer! Don't get me wrong, I have had delicious food at a lot of places but this was a kindof flavor experience that one rarely experiences and I was not expecting it. We started with the Fritto Misto which I expected to be a selection of battered and fried but this was something I have never had before. They were lightly dusted? With a mild coating that was just incredible. I can't describe the flavor exactly because we ate it too quickly to note what the ingredients might be. I had the salmon fish and chips and my friend had the pork belly ramen. My fish was tender, not too heavily breaded but an actual breading different than the Misto. Paired with a house tartar sauce...yum! The fries though! They were wedges but they had the best crisp on the edges especially that were full of flavor and the inside was fluffy. The ranch is also housemade and I alternated between that and the rest of the basil aoli from the misto. The slaw is also housemade and fresh. The Ramen was perfectly cooked, full of flavor and topped with a whole Sunnyside up egg that finished cooking in the Ramen after it was cut up. 11/15/2025 came here for the first time for breakfast and it was amazing. The food was sooo good, the service was awesome, the restaurant was so clean and there was DJ Trivia there. Had the whole restaurant answering trivia questions and 1st 2nd 3rd place got a little $ taken off their bill. It was so fun playing, my granddaughter was totally into it. We went for Cinco de Mayo and they had a pretty good special going on - 3 Tacos, Chips & Salsa, and choice of Margarita, Modelo, or house wine for $20. The taco options were Carne Asada, Chicken Tinga, and Mushroom Al Pastor (or one of each). I personally liked the Mushroom al pastor. The service was super attentive, the ambiance is pleasant, and they also validate valet which is super convenient so you don't have to find parking and walk. We decided to give this well-rated place a try, but unfortunately it was disappointing. When we arrived, we were told they were no longer serving breakfast. It was only 11:10 AM, which is understandable, but I wish the breakfast cutoff time had been clearly listed on the website. I ordered the turkey club sandwich. The flavor was okay, but it was so oversized that it was difficult to eat. Each bite felt unbalanced--one bite was mostly bread and lettuce, the next was bread, tomato, and a little meat. The fries were actually very good--thin, crispy, and crunchy--but they arrived cold. Considering there were only two other tables occupied, I was surprised they weren't served hot. The cocktails were the biggest disappointment. My friend ordered a Paloma with tequila instead of mezcal, but it still had a strong smoky flavor, making us wonder if mezcal was used anyway. I ordered the rum tiki cocktail, and it was extremely bitter and difficult to drink. Overall, the experience didn't live up to the reviews. There were a few positives, but the food and drinks fell well short of expectations. I'd be hesitant to return. read more

Breakfast was a treat at the Cafe Whitney. I wish I had someone to share with because the portions are humongous! One time I had the stack of pancakes with granola and berries and the next time I had the chilaquiles. I asked for no fried egg with the chilaquiles. They have several choices of protein to go with them and I chose chorizo. The chips were crunchy when I was served but the salsa got them to the right texture. There's no microwave in the room but there is one in the lobby if you want to enjoy them again later. read more

Stopped in for dinner as we were attending a concert at Cargo and we saw that we would get 10% off our meal (which we forgot to use but that's another story!). Me and my husband both got the salmon with the risotto and it was to die for. Salmon was perfectly seasoned and the risotto was nice and creamy and cheesy. The one and only downside to the whole experience was the bar forgot to make our drinks so we didn't get them until we were started on our dinner already but the server noticed they weren't dropped off and apologized profusely. Mistakes happen so it didn't sway my rating! Will definitely eat here again. read more

What a lovely brunch! My mom and I came because we hadn't been out in a while and wanted to go somewhere we hadn't been yet. Parking was super easy and the hotel lobby looks and smells amazing! Cafe Whitney is just to the left and is huge! This would be a great place to host an event! We were sat immediately and the service throughout our time there was amazing. We're staying the Hilton property attached to this restaurant. We stopped in for lunch It was just before noon and they had an abbreviated bunch menu of breakfast items and lunch items. It was fairly busy but there was plenty of staff on hand. It's a very noisy location plus they had an emcee playing music and running a trivia game. It reminded me of a cruise ship plaza area. Holding conversations was not an option here. Our order was taken quickly and the service was good. We had a horrible experience here and will never go back. The place was not busy but still took them 15 minutes to seat us. We were traveling and had our dog and i checked Yelp before we came to ensure it was ok to have our dog on the patio. The hostess seemed unsure about having a dog but did let us sit outside ( great we were fine with this). Once seated it took several minutes before anyone came out. There was only one other couple was outside and seemed to be frustrated with the wait it took for them to get the check. When the waitress finally came out she brought one glass and a pitcher of water. She seemed surprised and said she'd bring more glasses. At this point our neighbors seemed fed up and left ( pretty sure they didnt pay which became evident when the waitress came out with the check several minutes later and wondered where they went). When we finally got our water glasses, we ordered coffee. When she brought the coffee i asked for some sugar. We never got any sugar. When we finally got our order in i asked about the sugar and then the waitress said "oh, i am sorry its so busy" really??? Maybe very short staffed but not busy. While we waited for our food another couple was seated outside. They were not helped for several minutes and we watched them stand up and leave. We should have left at this point but we had already ordered. When we finally got 3 out of 4 of our meals, one order was wrong. The food looked bad and all dishedswere cold. Came here for their happy hour deals. Everything was great. Their drinks were 50% off and some select dishes. We had a pound of their wings flavors were Whitney peak and Buffalo. The Whitney peak flavor was kinda spicy bbq flavored. Tried their frito misto which had fried calamari, artichoke heart, shrimp, broccolini and a basil aioli sauce which was super yummy. For dessert I had their creme brûlée, which was my favorite dessert and they did not disappoint at all! Service was very attentive and friendly. Great place to grab dinner. read more

Stopped in at Café Whitney for breakfast and was seriously impressed. The portions are generous, the vibe is welcoming, and the food? Delicious. I had the chilaquiles, which were packed with flavor and had the perfect balance of spice and crunch. My friend got the Granola Waffles, and I stole a bite (okay, two)--it was thick, fluffy, and just the right amount of sweet. Everything came out hot and fresh, and the service was super friendly. This place used to be brunch and dinner only. They have added a very limited lunch menu, which is good and bad. The food is good but the service is not. I ordered iced tea and was told they were brewing some. 20 minutes later I asked again, not from our pigtailed youngster who was no where to be found and who clearly does not know anything about service but from someone who was passing by. She relayed the request to the pigtailed kid. That was what it took to get anything all meal long. We had to find someone to ask for to-go boxes and our check. Luckily she was nice enough to follow through. I left a big tip because most of the people were helpful, and because I knew my friend would not (she had her own issues), and I have to say I really hope all the staff who helped us shared in the tip. I saw our server leave about 12:30 today but no one came over to let us know who was taking over, if anyone. I wanted to chase her out the door and ask who we should talking to if we needed something else. Basics, people... They have a parking valet but no decent self-parking options. Downtown Reno is so odd. I parked a couple blocks away and passed three vacant lots -all chained up- that could be for parking. I don't get it. On a happier note: I got the burger -grilled and yummy- which came with fries -also yummy and crispy- and my friend got the turkey club and tomato bisque soup which both looked great. I stopped by the Café at the Whitney Hotel to place a to-go order and had a pretty disappointing experience. I ordered the Peak Burger ($23) and added a side of bacon for $2, along with a few other items. The waitress didn't write anything down, which made me a little uneasy, but I assumed she had it covered. Unfortunately, that didn't turn out to be the case. When I got home, the burger was completely off from what I ordered. The patty was overcooked, the lettuce was wilted and brown, there was no bacon at all, and the burger didn't even have any sauces or toppings--basically just a dry, poorly assembled sandwich. For a $25+ burger, this was extremely disappointing. It felt like the order wasn't properly taken or checked before being sent out. Definitely not what I expected. read more
