Great place for brunch with a fresh ambiance! Excellent service and menu! We went at a busy time, around 11 am on a Saturday, but still got great service and fresh food! At some places, bringing a stroller is a nightmare during their busy time, but this cafe was able to accommodate us with no problem. They even have water and coffee outside so waiting for a table is not bad at all. The fries are perfect: crunchy and thin. The pumpkin brûlée iced coffee is a must try! This was our favorite breakfast spot for years. If flipped owners 4 times over the years. I was excited when the original owner took it back over. The only problem is he came in and jacked up the menu prices. Where we used to go in every Sunday now we can't afford to go in for a plate of eggs and bacon, breakfast sandwich, and a short stack of pancakes with coffee and spend $35-$40. This place was outstanding and the food was definitely over the top. The specialty drinks is something that other restaurants do not compare to. This place is busy but worth the wait. I was served by gentlemen named Jamie. He went above and beyond to make sure the guests i was with were taken care of. My family and I enjoy the breakfasts there. This morning, we had several varieties of omelettes and french toast. It is all fresh, wholesome and quick serving. The omelettes have no grease or buttery taste on them, which is what we enjoy so much. If you want decadent options, that does exist. The menu is extensive. In general, we stay on the healthier end of the food spectrum. The service is always very pleasant, friendly, nice and fast, which is a huge plus. Best brunch place in the area! My wife and I have lived in the Hamilton area for 3.5 years now and this is by far the best brunch place we've been to. Had a brisket Benedict and a crab cake Benedict and both were excellent. Service was also fantastic. The wait staff really worked well as a team and seemed to coordinate our service between the whole staff so we never waited a second for anything despite the fact that the place was full. I grew up in the area and have been living in New York for the past 15 years. Every time I come back to West Trenton I am disappointed by the lack of decent places to eat. Finding Cafe 72 was a pleasant surprise. The staff is friendly, the food is great and they have outdoor seating. I had the braised short rib eggs benedict which was delicious. Since this place was taken over by new management, it has never been the same. I only get breakfast on Sunday's or my time off, when I do it's never a satisfactory experience, it's either burnt bacon, or burnt scrambled eggs. Very rushed in preparation. An order correction is a problem for them. And when not satisfied it's a gift card which I don't want. request for your money instead. the original ownership had a better customer service. We would have given this place 6 stars if it was possible. Maybe top 3 breakfast spot in my entire life. Hard to make up our minds between the dozens of choices. Pancakes had to be 2 inches thick, and I wish they would have spilled the secret on how they do that. The omelette was also great that I got. Our kids loved it all. Not sure when I'll ever be in Trenton again, but if we ever drove anywhere near the area there's no doubt we would make a stop and eat here. My favorite Sunday late morning breakfast spot in Ewing. They offer multiple choices (cajun shrimp, original, etc. of Eggs Benedict which are always cooked perfectly. My personal favorite is the cajun shrimp and grits! Nice portion of creamy grits topped w several cajun shrimp and a small poached egg. The spice on the shrimp is bitey without over powering. I've also had the frittata, pancakes, Benedicts all were tasty. Make sure to also get a glass of guava juice with your coffee. read more

The food is great but the staff has zero customer service ability. The waitress gave us the wrong food and when we denied that we had ordered it she refused to take it back to the kitchen. The manager was also extremely rude and charged us full price even though our orders were incorrect. I guess the customer ISNT always right at cafe seventy two! read more

I went here with my family this morning and this food is INSANELY GOOD. I tried everyone's food and have to say they have the best onion rings I have potentially ever had. Additionally, my eggs Benedict may have also been the best I've ever had. The food is delicious and the wait staff are SO nice. Julie was our server and she was extremely kind, attentive, and overall lovely. Also, THE DOUGHNUTS ARE THE BOMB. Go now and forever thank yourself for this tummy explosion of goodness. Good food, beautiful ambience, and amazing service! We went for brunch on a Sunday morning, made a reservation, as we were waiting to be seated they had complimentary coffee and water and you could play bocce ball in the outside seating area. We ordered lemon curd ricotta Beignets with their blueberry compote(so delicious!), French toast, chocolate chip pancakes, classic pancake and vegetarian omlette.
