    Peruvian beef stew

Lovely aesthetic in this little cafe. I got the Peruvian beef stew with tostones, fantastic flavor even if the beef was a little on the tough side. Definitely worth coming back to!

Work lunch meeting and was pleasantly surprised to see duck mac n cheese on the menu. Also had the strawberry salad. Was able to eat outside in a beautiful summer day. Service was good!

We had a lovely date night here!! It is BYOB!! And you DEF want to BYOB bc they have a wonderful sangria pitcher ready to go for your wine, with a ton of fresh fruit. I got beef empanadas and crispy Brussels. LOVED IT! I've had their sister stores empanadas before (NOSH) and these are different take on them and still delicious, they're very crispy and juicy lol. My husband got the steak and fries and enjoyed it thoroughly. 10/10 experience. We sat outside and ate, around 7:30pm, and it was just so very peaceful. We will be back!

Was in the area for vacay! I'm glad we stopped by this cute spot for brunch. The interior was cute, but unfortunately, there were many flies flying around the restaurant, so we asked to sit outside. The weather was gorgeous, though, so no complaints there. We ordered iced coffee; unfortunately, the only sweeteners were sugar packets, so the coffee was meh. The food itself was great. I ordered the caprese sandwich, which came w/ truffle fries, both of which were delicious! My boyfriend ordered the fish tacos, which were SO yummy. I kind of wish I ordered them instead lol. The food made up for the move outdoors. I recommend for anyone visiting the area!

Third or fourth time here, this time for a date night with my husband - good is always delicious and on point. Service is caring and attentive. I have pretty high expectations for tapas and this place clears every hurdle. Tortilla like my friend's mom used to make - extremely generous portion in its own right. Machego cheese with honey, sprinkles of lavender and apple (yum!) and potatoes roasted to perfection - aioli on tortilla and potatoes are delish. My husband ordered the short ribs - a favorite anywhere else and especially here. You could tell they were slow roasted. Hands down favorite tres leches cake. Has a slight crunch with a sugary layer - just wow. Will be back again for my fifth visit and thought this was the perfect cozy date night getaway. Have been here for a birthday and it was also a wonderful place to throw a birthday dinner too. BYOB a plus. Cheers!

We stopped in to Under the Moon for a casual weeknight dinner & could not have been happier with our choice! For appetizers we got the crispy Brussel sprouts and the garlic parmesan wings. Both were super flavorful & cooked perfectly. For our entrees we got the specials--the crab cake with aoli & a mango salsa plus the cherry tomato spinach risotto. Both were delicious--super flavorful and cooked well. The risotto was the perfect consistency and not over or under cooked. On top of it all our server was extremely friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. We also loved the perfectly eclectic and cozy decor! We couldn't have been happier with our visit and will be back!

Under the Moon in Bordentown, NJ, never disappoints! Every visit is a culinary delight, with everything on the menu being absolutely delicious. The tapas, in particular, are always on point, offering a perfect mix of flavors and creativity. The ambiance is warm and inviting, making it a great spot for a relaxed meal. Service is consistently excellent, with the staff always attentive and welcoming. It's clear that they take pride in making sure every guest has a memorable experience. We'll definitely be back for more--highly recommended. Tonight, we ordered tapas and entrees and as usual, everything was delicious. We will come back again and again.

Under the moon is a place we've been to several times with a unique, warm ambiance and interesting menu. The food has been overall very good. Excellent desserts -- the crêpe cakes are unbelievable. BYO wine and they will turn it into sangria for you.

After coming here multiple times now I'm going to have to give Under The Moon Cafe 5 stars. It's such a unique restaurant serving a diverse menu with an Argentinian flair. The restaurant is in a 1930's atmosphere which is also unique. My favorite dishes are the Ropa vieja, chicken napolatana, gnocchi in vodka sauce, and their risotto specials. Today I had the chicken napolatana and the sauce was so DELICIOUS and flavorful! The gnocchi dinner are like soft pillows of heaven! The Ropa vieja was also tender and flavorful. The noodle bowl is good, but not my favorite dinner. Those are all the entrees I tried so far. As far as appetizers I usually get the soup of the day which is always very good! The empanadas are also EXCELLENT! The chicken wings we thought were ok/good. For dessert the apple crumb cake is FANTASTIC! You have to order it! The banana chocolate chip bread pudding is Amazing if you ask to warm it up until it gets soft. It isn't good if you don't tell them prior to ordering it because then it's too stiff. Today I told my waitress to warm it up until soft and WOW it made a big difference! We are still dreaming of it! One complaint is the brownie and peanut butter cheesecake with the brownie on the bottom is too dry. Putting the brownie in the refrigerated case dries it out. I love the peanut butter cheesecake part on top, but did not enjoy the dry brownie on the bottom. I absolutely love it here, and highly recommend dining at Under The Moon Cafe in Bordentown!

Of all of the hot Farnsworth Ave. spots in Bordentown, Under the Moon is easily my favorite. Love the eclectic, bohemian decor, the fabulous brunches, the consistently reliable and attentive service, and of course the outstanding menu. Seating is a bit cozy, so if you're a fan of personal space, maybe not the greatest place for you, but if you don't mind being seated within arms length of your neighbors you'll have a pretty fantstic dining experience. Huge fans of the tapas tower to get started almost every meal here, and their crepe cakes are among my favorite desserts anywhere. Seating is limited, so reservations are highly suggested!

This was a great date location for my wife and me. We wanted to get out of the house and enjoy a warm meal without worrying about doing the dishes! We found this wonderful little place on Yelp, so we decided to give it a go. Our food was delicious and filling! I got the Argentinian meat loaf, and my wife got the risotto. Flavor of the meat loaf was exceptional in every bite. After the first one, you want to go in for the second and the third! My wife is a small woman and she finished her plate. Usually we take the leftovers home, but not that night! Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and desserts. We got the cheesecake and it was THICC! Our waiter was shock that I finished the whole thing. We are definitely going to return soon!

When you first walk in, you are in the bar/lounge area which has a nice, clean semi-modern atmosphere. You have to walk through the bar to get to the main dining area. Not the best design. Considering we were one of the only tables in the place, I would have thought that our waiter would have come to check on us a little bit more. The menu selection had a lot to choose from, from your traditional Portuguese favorites to filet mignon and chicken dishes. Instead of trying my traditional choice of filet mignon, I decided to stick to the traditional Portuguese menu. I had stuffed mushrooms as an appetizer, and they were pretty good. My paella was decent but lacked some flavor. And finally, the red sangria was very good - my favorite part of eating Portuguese. The kids menu was decent - they had other choices besides chicken fingers and macoroni & cheese. Overall, it was a nice night out. A bit pricey, but nice. I would have to go back again, perhaps later in the evening, to get a better idea of how good the service truly is.

Ensalade Verde: is the absolute best salad in the city. in the country even. absolute must get. it's big, however me and my sister still refuse to split it. definitely shareable though if you're not as greedy. Patatas Bravas: slightly different iteration than their past one. I think it's actually better. you get more potato's, more sauce, and the sauce just tastes slightly better but who knows. always ordered when we go Brussels Catalana: technically there is blue cheese in this, however, I am a certified blue cheese hater and I had no idea. so don't be turned off by that. first time having this dish and it was solid. good portion, well coated, right texture. will get again Pimientos De Pardon: shishito peppers were good, decent amount of them. Valenciana Paella: this has meat in it obviously, but I did eat around the pieces. if you're vegetarian and don't mind your food touching the meat, it's very easy to pick around. all the meat pieces are medium sized. They pick the most popular dishes to bring out to the table but also allow you to request any specifically that you'd like. By the end of night, we had a TON of food, even more than we could finish, and ended up trying at least 15 different dishes. All the food was great, with some of my favorites being the eggplant caponata (cold, very flavorful), scallops a la plancha, jamon & manchego croquetas, spiced beef empanadas, and the paellas. Favorite dessert was the chocolate cake, but we were received all the desserts other than the ice cream and sorbet. I may have liked the food experience less if I had ordered off the regular menu and only tried a few small plate, but I loved the option of trying so many dishes. The staff were immediately sympathetic, super friendly and helpful. Of course, as if I wasn't embarrassed enough, as soon as the 3 year old washed his hands, he shouted "I'm hungry" (is this sort of human I'm raising?). We were already in a restaurant so why not. Before being seated or looking at the menu, I asked for some fries to be put in and the waitress offered some chicken tenders. After finally looking over the menu, I don't think these are regular offerings so I appreciated them trying to be accommodating to a frazzled parent at dinner time. My vegan mother in law joined us and we were pleased that there were so many options for her. My absolute favourite (such that I had to order another round) was the eggplant caponata - perfectly sweet with a little bit of spice. It was so warm and comforting - exactly what I want at the end of a long cold day. My MIL's fav were the Brussels sprouts - they had a tang reminiscent of buffalo sauce and were crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, textured heaven (extra bonus points for the 3 year old absolutely LOVING them - he redeemed himself). If you like hummus, try the spinach and chick pea cazuela. Squash is in season so I knew it was going to be delightful - the pomegranate was a combination that was new to me, but it didn't disappoint. We didn't try the roasted carrots (because my household is all carroted out for the moment) but someone one table over was gushing over them. As a meat eater, I have to say that the non meat tapas were standouts - I tried the empanadas, they were fine; I didn't enjoy the meatballs and I just wanted to order more of the eggplant caponata. All in all, I would definitely come back, maybe for drinks with friends or date night. The drink list looked inviting and nothing says intimacy like mood lighting and shared plates. The price (without alcohol) was very approachable - for $80 a vegan, a 3 year old and a frazzled mom left satiated.

Side notes- Prices aren't online, and the menu changes frequently. In general, as of a few months…read moreago, the pintxos/bites are $14 to $16, the entradas/appetizers are mostly in the low or mid-$20s, and the platos/entrees are mostly in the $30s and $40s. Anyway, I was at this dimly lit Basque restaurant a while back with a small group. The place got pretty loud eventually, and the service was friendly. As we were waiting, I had some time to kill and ordered a tasty vermut. In this case, it was the Lustao Blanco for $16 on the rocks with an olive. In terms of small bites/Pintxos, someone ordered the Gildas for $14 while waiting, and another person enjoyed the similarly tiny Croquetas de Jamón for the same price point. Speaking of prices, I am unsure exactly how much everything cost, and I can't find descriptions of everything I ate, so I'm approximating, which is why you'll see the "~" before each price point. My entrada, or appetizer, was the Salmorejo de Atún for ~$25. Salmorejo is essentially a much thicker version of gazpacho, with olive oil, tomato, bread, and a few other ingredients. In this case, it was topped with plenty of raw tuna, cucumbers, and other greens. The cold soup worked surprisingly well with the high-quality fatty tuna, and I would order this again if I came back here. Another person ordered one of the appetizers as their entree, the Bikini Hemingway, which is a type of sandwich. In this case, it was ~$25 and was filled with txistorra, queso, shrimp, and pan de cristal. They seemed to like it but not love it. My main dish/plato was, unfortunately, the Magret de Pato for ~$40, with grilled magret duck breast, port and foie sauce, and pomme purée. Unfortunately, a few pieces of the duck were a little chewy, especially the ones with more fat. The sauce was alright, tasting like a slightly above-average red wine demi-glace with a touch more richness and sweetness than usual. The pomme purée was good, being rich with a nice texture. Overall, I think a bit of acid would have helped as well. This was alright, and I would have appreciated some bread to mop up the remaining sauce. Another person thought the Bacalao for ~$35, which was topped with two shrimp in this presentation, was pretty good. This place reminded me of Txikito in many ways. Both are a bit too pricey for the quality, with comparable food. For spending around $100, there are many other spots I would prefer, such as Casa Mono, El Pote, or a few others. If I were to go back, I'd probably just order appetizers. I'll leave the same score as the other restaurant, a bare 4/upper 3, and I would give a 3.5 if available.

Fantastic! Everything we ordered was so yummy and perfectly seasoned. The service was awesome. I'm…read morestill thinking about the cabbage, it was so tender and light. Will be back for sure to try out the paella! First place I've seen do a ticket system for picking up leftovers at the end of the meal. Cool idea.

Came for the Tasting menu experience, at the Chefs counter. Was quite happy with the visit…read more It's a nice restaurant inside, although located within a random strip mall. The parking was actually full when we arrived, possibly because of the bar using the same lot. But there is an elevated connected lot for the bowling alley that has plenty of parking. I have to say that the best thing about this place is the service: everyone was very friendly, and quick to attend us. Food was great, except maybe the flake fish (first course). Seemed more Spanish to me than Portuguese though. Portions were huge... actually had leftovers from a dish, which is the first for me from a tasting menu. The prices were reasonable In terms of why I'm giving this 4 star instead of 5: -we were seated at the "Chefs counter", but did not really have a view of the prep, which was really far away. Basically could just see the fireplace. The sister restaurant Heirloom is a much better chef's counter setup where you are seeing everything -Dishes seemed to be regular menu type dishes (just smaller portions), as opposed to super interesting types that you would expect from a tasting menu -Beverage pairing was okay... didn't really love the wines For these reasons, I'd likely return, but just stick to the regular menu/ experience.
