First time trying B2 Bistro and I wasn't very impressed. I frequented the previous establishment Jimmy's and All Stars which I really loved. So I thought I would give B2 a try. The hostess was very friendly. She immediately took us to our table. Then our waiter came. She was not friendly at all. It did not seem like she wanted to work there or serve us. We decided to move sections because we wanted to sit near a window since it was so dark in the main dining area. Unfortunately, we got the same server. Also, it was a very hot day and it did not seem like they had the AC on. Weird. The food and drinks were meh. I ordered the peach sangria. It was decent. Not too strong and not too sweet. My dad ordered a Coors Light. They didn't have it on draft so he had to get a cold glass. He enjoyed it. Their cocktail menu was very limited considering they have a full bar. We ordered one appetizer which was the onion soup. For our entree's we ordered the the B2 Bistro Burger, Mustard crusted salmon, and grilled chicken pasta. The French Onion Soup was delicious. Very hot but flavorful. However, it could have used less salt. The Bistro Burger was good. Cooked to perfection and very juicy. The fries were a bit salty but still edible. The Mustard Crusted salmon was meh. The salmon itself wasn't very flavorful. The rice was pretty bland but the green beans were delicious. The grilled chicken pasta was probably the best dish of the evening. It was very flavorful, hot, and cooked to perfection. We really enjoyed that entree. Overall, it was a good experience with minor flaws. I am not sure if I will return but if I do I don't think I will have any major issues. If you are in the area check them out. Cheers! read more

4.5 stars. I was looking for a place where I could enjoy a good meal in a relatively quiet, adult-friendly environment, and this bistro looked like it fit the bill. I passed it on the way to my hotel and immediately decided it was a place I wanted to check out. I'll admit I was a little alarmed when I walked in and realized it was giving neighborhood bar energy instead of the chic bistro vibes is expecting. I happened to arrive during trivia night, and most of the patrons seemed really into it so it was much louder and rowdier than I anticipated. So much for a quiet dinner. I asked the hostess if I could be seated in a booth away from the activity, but even in a less crowded section, the atmosphere remained pretty overstimulating. In addition to the enthusiastic trivia-playing patrons, there were loud, animated conversations among various staff members, music playing from staff member's phone while music was already playing throughout the restaurant, and just a lot of competing noise. After a three-hour drive, I was really hoping for a glass of wine, a nice meal, and a more relaxed environment. That said, the staff were all incredibly friendly and pleasant. You could tell that they genuinely enjoy working there and enjoy each other's company, which made it difficult to be too annoyed. Eventually, I popped in my AirPods and dissociated so that I could focus on enjoying my meal. For dinner, the Chicken Francaise with a glass of the Italian Pinot Grigio (The name escapes me at the moment). The wine paired beautifully with the meal. The chicken itself was a fairly thick cut and cooked perfectly, but it could have used a bit more seasoning. I also would have loved to see some of the risotto sauce drizzled over the chicken because, while the texture was spot on, the flavor was a little underwhelming on its own. The green beans were excellent. Perfectly cooked with just the right amount of crunch and lightly seasoned. But the real star of the show was the Parmesan lemon risotto. That risotto is easily among the top three best risottos I've ever had. The brightness of the lemon combined with the creamy parmesan made for an absolutely unforgettable dish. I was genuinely disappointed that I couldn't finish it because every bite was fantastic. Honestly, I could have ordered a plate of that risotto by itself and left completely satisfied. While the atmosphere wasn't quite what I was looking for, the friendly service and that unforgettable delectable risotto made the visit worthwhile. read more

B2 was our destination after a mid-afternoon movie with the kids and friends. Walking in, the restaurant is definitely a number of notches up from your typical bar and grill, but still retaining a casual and fun atmosphere (love the moody greens and browns with the light and bright windows and white tiles). As a hint, I pointed to the Mother's Day reservations as this is definitely the place to take a special someone for a special occasion. All of the specials - drink and otherwise - are beautifully drawn on a big chalkboard at the entrance, so if you like to explore cocktails and mocktails, they're inventive here. Counter to some of the reviews here, we experienced attentive service with our tie dye hobbyist server Zach. He's so friendly and gets that New Orleans version of hospitality that gets to know the customer and tell a little bit about himself - hence the tie dye convo! I'm a beer girl and ordered the Spellbound Coffee porter from an extensive beer list (draft and bottles) and my husband and his friend appreciated the whiskey choices. Menu offers a little something for everyone without being overwhelming. Sandwiches, pizza, pasta, steaks, sushi and Mex - but it does really all make sense (and our friend tells us the Philly sushi roll is great)! Kids have decent choices too and I have to say that the fries that accompany the grilled cheese are probably in my top 5 of all time - crispy with visible salt flakes and peppers. I would also count my apple walnut salad as crave-worthy and one of my top salads of all time - a perfect bite of lettuce, blue cheese, dried fruit and walnut every time - I am not sure that I can try anything else on the menu when I go back (and I had a hard time choosing, as there were many vegetarian options!). Mac and cheese short rib sando makes a statement upon delivery and was delicious according to our friend. Not pictured, but chicken parm was also perfectly crispy and delicious. Caesar salad was a winner and my selective husband told me it was very good, along with his high marks for atmosphere, drinks and service. Definitely a five star experience! read more

This is still in its opening stages. So there are definitely kinks but there is potential. Some very solid happy hour specials as well. Price point is a bit high in my opinion but most things are these days. The branding and the receipt is still half jimmys American grill. I think they're working on changing that. We had the nachos and the chicken fingers. There was inconsistency when we ordered to orders of chicken fingers. One came with fries, the other did not but an extra chicken finger was included. Odd. Strong beer and cocktail list. $6 drafts during happy hour is a decent price point. The staff were nice and friendly. We had a baby and they allowed us to do the happy hour specials at a table instead of the bar. Will give it another go. read more

AWFUL LIVE BUGS. Do not go here omg - I previously recommended this place and am so alarmed. The service was super slow and that is fine as afternoon, but was so unacceptable was we ordered food and when I cut into the chicken parm with linguine two live crawling bugs came out from under half way through my meal!!!!! DISGUSTING - and then the manager Greg tried to call me a liar. Pull the video footage and prove I am lying. Been going there for years and never complained - so disgusted and disappointed. Only issue was $$$.? Everything thing else was equal or better than any other good to great modern franchise restaurant. Location, atmosphere, service, food quality and presentation; spot on. Bordentown location is decent, the North Brunswick location has the lake view that gives them a slight edge. I can see them being great places to hang for a bite and drinks but to be regulars could require me to price shop the menu better or be in a higher tax bracket. read more

This used to be one of our favorites under the previous ownership (Jimmy's). Unfortunately, since the changeover, the value and quality of the food has continually gone down. I don't mind paying a good price for a good meal, but when you order a $38 entree that comes out partially uncooked, that is unacceptable. It was obvious from just the appearance that these dishes should not have gone out. Also, the price of everything there is so high that it is no longer a good choice. Plus, the huge, beautiful patio that was such a draw is now only for events. Our server was obviously new because they had not heard of SanGria, thought it was beer, and had to go ask what it was to see if we could order any. Also, they disappeared immediately after dropping off our meals and did not return to see if the meals were satisfactory (which of course they were NOT). We had to hail down other personnel who then had to find the server. We decided to leave and offered to pay for the two overpriced beverages we had. The manager who finally showed up comped the drinks so we gave the server a nice tip in spite of everything and then went to another restaurant to have a decent dinner. We'll not return. read more

This used to be Jimmy's American Grill and Bar. When we arrived we were a bit confused because the sign for Jimmy's is still up but it's B2 Bistro. We've been to another location before so we've had the food before. Service was quick, we ordered the loaded potato skins, which was 3 large size potato halves. Could have used more cheese, in my opinion. We couldn't decide what to order and were stuck between sandwiches and a pasta dish. We ended up splitting the creamy crab pasta, which was absolutely delicious. There were huge chunks of crab. We also split the crab cake sandwich, again which was delicious and had chunks of crab. It was served with French fries. I will say I preferred the pasta over the sandwich. But can't go wrong either way. Brought home the apple walnut salad for my daughter, which she really liked. Place was clean, staff were friendly. Definitely doesn't disappoint. Would definitely recommend read more

I placed a to-go order for a Cheeseburger and mozzarella sticks. When I picked it up the bill was $36.58. The cheeseburger was $19 and the mozzarella sticks were $15. The cheeseburger was good but the sticks were nasty the worst I ever had. They were soggy and tasted like grease, as if their grease never gets changed. There are very expensive, this place used to be Jimmy's American Grill, they should never have sold to B2 Bistro. read more

Had lunch today and ordered a chicken caesar which was good but I didn't realize I needed to scrutinize the price of it!!! When I got the Bill it came to $27, which is insane. My bad for not examining the price before ordering, I own that. But who would ever expect that. To be sure that price was correct I asked the lady at the front Desk if she would ever pay $27 for CK Caesar salad and her response was absolutely not. So I asked why they are charging that to their patrons??? Quickly a more another lady hung up on her phone call to address my question and said Sir the price of CK has increased recently. Granted I own that I didn't realize a CK Ceasar salad could be that expensive at a run of the mill restaurant, think they may have confused themselfs with LUCA but be weary of the prices for regular food on their menu.
