This was in the rice pudding

They are awful. This is what came in my rice pudding I called and they would not accept the responsibility for this and insinuated the validity of this I would absolutely give them a negative rating if I could

I ordered the 2 eggs with a side of meat and they forgot my scrapple and a whole tons of home fries I even ordered home fries bc the meal didn't come with it. This is usually my go to spot for breakfast, but idk ‍ how they can forget the scrapple since it's listed in the special as 2 eggs and choice of meat, and I was sooo looking forward to my scrapple and eggs. My home fries and toast are cold even after I had to wait to order delivery until 11:45am. Hopefully this is only a one time occurrence, because they usually make an amazing breakfast

Not happy! In my salad I found mushy lettuce. You need to check your salad supply each time you make a salad. It was gross! I really wanted that salad too! Never again. I'll order from Pat's dinner from now on!

Nutless carrot cake. DELISH!

Just went for the 1st time. It was pretty good! The French fries were great asked for extra crispy. And I like my chicken salad sandwich. I wasn't too much of a fan of the beef barley soup- it was more tomato base than beef broth. But the shiner of the meal was the amazing carrot cake!!!! Omg no nuts which was such a smart decision we thought of them. The flavor and icing was so delish! My son was super happy he was able to try it. I would have bought the entire cake if I could. Love to know where they buy it. Soooooo good! We will be back!!!

Short Stack Of French Toast with Eggs and I took some of my mom's bacon (doesn't come with this meal)
Kimberly F.

The last few times I have come here, I have noticed the poached eggs on my eggs Benedict to get smaller and smaller. Today, one was pretty much nonexistent (see photo). My mom's toast was also stale. The other time we came here, the sausage was old. I've come here quite often recently and really wanted to make it my new go-to diner. I hope things start to get better so I don't have to find another breakfast place to frequent.

Food is not good at all. White bread for french toast and cheddar cheese on disco fries is insane. Food left a bad taste in my mouth.

It had been more than a year since my last visit to Marty's Place. Time flies!…read more I was driving by this morning after court, having skipped breakfast at home in order to get a jump on traffic going into the city. I saw a new sign out front on a Bud Light white board that breakfast was now being served 7 days a week! Hot diggity! I parked out back and walked in to a mostly empty bar (2 customers who looked like they were regulars). The bartender approached and we engaged about their breakfast menu. It was pretty wide open if my desires had anything to do with eggs. They did. I opted for a sausage, egg and cheese on Kaiser roll, and mug of java. While it was being created in the kitchen I watched a show about exotic car auctions. A Borgati opening at a cool million bucks was an eye opener. Another black transport used by John Lennon around London was also put up and sold. Pretty cool entertainment. The sandwich was great! Double patty, fried egg, American cheese and a fresh, quality roll, made for a tasty and fun meal. The side of homefries was likewise excellent - hot, crisp and spicy with sautéed onions in the mix. Coffee, strong and kicking. The only shortcomings were the lack of a joe refill offering, and lack of utensils. Luckily, I had a spoon from the coffee, which was fine as a shovel. Afterall, Marty's is still a wonderful corner dive. It was made for comfort, not for speed, nor etiquette.

We ordered a French toast to split and then the cook came out and I asked him what's BFO mean on the menu? He ( Bill ) said BIG F Omelet lol he was Very personable! He even gave us upon greeting us 2 tiny tiny mini eclairs that were delicious! I asked him IF he does poached eggs he said I'll make u Anything u want! So my husband and I split a BFO and check this out-u get to pick as many meats and vegetables in yr omelet that u want! For the same price of $ 11 00! Comes w 6 pieces of yr choose of cheese! He brings out 2 plates and its Allready split for us! And we Both got an order of toast! The omelette was delicious I just Didn't care for the tiny cubed potatoes bcz they were too well done like deep fried! Afterwards he bought us tiny little samples of homemade poundcake like pineapple upside down cake, caramel, and even a strawberry cheesecake flavor! Bill Really impressed me with his sharing of how he makes his stuffed cabbage since I'm Hungarian and told him how I make mine! I've been in the restaurant business for 40 years ( Retired on my bday 3/13/20 at the start of Covid ) but I have NEVER tipped a cook until today! Charles and I Can't wait to go back and have Bill make Us lunch!

Service was pretty basic. I don't know that it was bad but it certainly wasn't extraordinary. My Mom and Aunt both got salads. I got a hot dog plate and a side salad. My Aunt enjoyed her large house salad. My Mom really didn't like her Greek salad. I ended up eating most of it. They were VERY generous with the feta. Maybe too generous. I thought it was fine. I enjoyed my side salad. The hot dog was interesting. As described on the menu, it is two hot dogs, cut in half lengthwise, then griddled, then put on a hoagie roll. It was unusual. Not bad, just different. The hoagie roll was a bit chewier than a standard hot dog bun. The sauerkraut was good. I had asked for mustard too and they brough it on the side. Overall, an OK experience. I don't know that we'll be back if we are in the area again.

My first trip to El Gallo Tropical was to try their fish tacos as part of my goal to find the best…read morefish tacos in/around Hamilton Township. I'd known about them for years, but they were kind of out of the way for me. The place is small and unassuming, which gave me high expectations, as sometimes I find myself having lower expectations for a more "Mexican" decorated place (I'm wrong as often as I'm right). As far as the Fish Tacos went, they do not serve the Baja style fried fish tacos that I'd grown up on out west, so it was a downer when the plater arrived and I saw the tacos filled with chopped fish cooked in broth. That said, at least the taco was well filled and the fish had a very good flavor. The broth turned out to be a major issue, as the (very tasty) single layer tortillas were soaking up the broth while I ate the first taco, and the second and third tacos both split at the seams and fell apart after one or two bites. A second tortilla may have prevented this debacle, but I won't order fish tacos here again. I'd have loved a fish soup made in this style. The next visit I tried Tacos de Tripa (fried pork intestines), which is my current go to taco style. They were very good, and I enjoyed the heck out of them. They were nice and crispy as I'd requested, and the excellent tasting tortilla made them an excellent choice. My wife had a cheese tamal that had ribbons of poblanos inside as well, and it was also very good with the poblanos providing a nice balance to the heaviness of the cheese. I'd get both again in a heartbeat. My third visit was at lunchtime, and I opted for a Torta de Chili Relleno--essentially a chili relleno sandwich. It wasn't the first I've ever had, and it's a fave torta when I see them on the menu--which isn't often. The torta arrived with a nice sized chili relleno along with the usual smear of beans, lettuce, tomatoes, avocado, and a couple pieces of queso fresco served on a lightly toasted roll. Overall, the torta was very good tasting, and it went down nicely. However, I wish they used a little firmer roll instead of the soft one they did use. The torta was big and warm, and a crustier roll would have been better. The soft one used was near to collapsing under the weight of the ingredients. Fries are an option on the many torta options for a couple dollars extra. In retrospect, I'd have liked to have added a layer of fries to the sandwich for a little extra kick. All in all, El Gallo Tropical is a place I'll continue to go to. The staff is very friendly, and the menu is extensive (too big?). Although I had them initially at three stars after my first visit for fish tacos, the second (4+) and third (4-) visits have raised them up, and I'm rounding up to a four.
