    Goodfella
    James F.

Went to crumb for lunch in downtown bordentown. It is small inside but upscale decor for a sandwich shop. At first glance, the prices are quite expensive. Consistently $14-18 for a sandwich. I got the goodfella which is chicken cutlet, broccoli rabe, provolone and pepper aioli. My wife got the cheesesteak. The food: the goodfella was great. A bit greasy but good flavor. My wife's cheesesteak: fantastic. Would switch the cheese for provolone next time though.

Visited crumb for the first time today. Their other locations are in bougie towns of Medford and Haddonfield, so for them to come to little old Bordentown city really says something! They seem to be an "elevated" sandwich shop (or should I spell it "shoppe") that also sells Boylan's cane sugar sodas, La colombe coffee, and I think (don't quote me) I saw some cans of kombucha in the fridge as well. The interior is nice with several tables at which to dine or wait. There's bar seating at an expansive window that looks out onto Crosswicks Street. They also offer complimentary water with cups and lids which is a big plus. As for the food? They have gluten free bread for a $1 up-charge. The menu is chock full of clever/cutesy names inspired by 90's culture (see "nothin but a Greek thang," "the Brooklyn way," "my cousin Vinny," Et al. I opted for a "Tribbiani," whose etymology required research as I wasn't a viewer of "Friends." In short, it's a meatball sub/hero/hoagie on focaccia. I did taste nice hints of garlic, and the mozzarella was fresh. It could've used a bit more of the cheese. So far I've had half of the sandwich, and said half contained 2.5 meatballs. It was 5/5 for taste. I wish it had a bit more meat and cheese. Those are the two main components of a meatball sub after all! Value? Like most Bordentown eateries, you do pay a hefty price: $14.50 was the cost of this sandwich. My boo got the "Brooklyn way" on gluten free bread that appeared to be rye. She said it was good. In fairness, GF bread simply isn't as good as gluten bread. She says there was a "decent" amount of meat but the bread was "meh." Total came to $36, they do hit you with a credit card fee (3.5%) and do the "turn the card reader around for a 30% tip option" that we see more and more nowadays. The place was quite busy at lunch time, maybe call ahead if you don't want to wait. Service was very friendly. All in all, I think we'll return when the budget allows. We live down the street and try to support local businesses when possible. Nowhere to eat in downtown Bordentown is "cheap." If you want that, get a meatball sub (er, hoagie) from Wawa when they're $6. Hopefully there is more meat and cheese upon my return! Maybe I'll try their coffee too.

Adorable cafe, great sandwich. Lovely staff- I think the owner was there and referred to herself on the phone as mama crumb- adorable! Eddie Mush sandwich did not disappoint

Eddie Mush...this is what I came for and I will definitely come back!

This place had been on my bookmark for a while and I finally got there. I also, cannot wait to go back! The smells and food were incredible! Wife got Dirty South Chicken sandwich, fried with pimento cheese and fried pickles, was sooo good and HUGE! I was lined up for the Eddie Mush the minute I saw it. If you like mushrooms it's Unreal. I will absolutely be back soon for another. Fun fact: Teacher discount! Check them out, Bordentown, Medford, and Haddonfield locations.

    Montana something

Four stars for the vibe and space for sure, but I'm not a fan of $15 decent sandwiches. But let's start with the pros. This is a very well thought out space. The whole front opens and allows for more seating in nice weather, with 2 communal tables plus a few two seaters inside. There is a big selection of sandwiches, more than are listed on the menu at the order counter. The sandwich I really wanted was not listed on the overhead menu, and the staff were unsure about what I was asking for. So I ordered the French Montana. This is a chicken cutlet(1) with some ham and cheddar cheese sauce on their focaccia. It was fine, I actually liked the ham more than the chicken which although nicely seasoned and breaded, was dried out. The bread was fine too, no need to rush home with a loaf though. The item I enjoyed most from here was the crumb cake. It was thinner that some recent contenders, but dense and very tasty. I'd get it again. When I thought about the cost for this very casual and to go lunch, I just could not justify it unless on vacation or trying to impress someone. I think there are better options in the area for chicken cutlets, and for sandwiches in general. Adding 3.5% to credit card orders seemed like adding insult to injury. I might return to try another dessert but will probably go elsewhere for phat sandies.....

Perfect setting, delicious kale salad with sweet potatoes, cranberries and fresh focaccia breadstick.

Charming lunch place, deliciously fresh salads and sandwiches with homemade focaccia to die for. The owner is delightful- such a happy and lovely experience. And quick trip off the NJ Turnpike - 5 minutes. Enjoy a pleasant stroll through town after lunch. You'll want to stay!

This was such a cute local shop with great food! I am not a vegetarian, but I decided to try the "Morocco Your World" sandwich and did not regret it! The bread was so fresh and warm. I also ordered a side of fries which are homemade. I ate them too quickly to snag a photo. I will definitely be back!

Awesome place to eat! My sandwich was delicious and the chicken was incredibly moist!

Food was great. Had to wait quite a while for 3 items. Seating is limited so best to get a table before ordering.

I'm a strange dude, I'll be the first to admit to that. I've never been one to like anything that…read moredraws attention from the masses. I never watched Lord of the Rings or Game of Thrones because every last loser on earth was all about it. The Beatles fucking suck and Bruce Springsteen can go shit in his hat. Pumpkin spice is for pumpkin pie and that's it, no matter what these dizzy suburban women say. So the decision to visit Johnny Longhots today was based entirely on poor reviews. The guy who ordered a sandwich to the hospital and found a cheesesteak to be "greasy" deserves to contract MRSA during his stay. The dope who complained his fries were soggy ordered his shit off Door Dash. He's lucky the driver didn't eat all of his fries. The folks who called out the teenagers who are getting their first experience working can all get bent. You weren't perfect when you had your first job. Don't forget people like you willingly locked kids in their homes during covid. It's no wonder some of them struggle with social skills and working under pressure. Have a little grace, then eat a bag of dicks for not being patient to them. Don't get me started on that dipshit from Brooklyn. That person who rated the place a one for the soda? I already know who you vote for. Onto the food - the menu is huge. There are a ton of choices with something for just about everyone. There's even gluten free options for those fucking people. There were four or five sandwiches in the running, but it was the Gritty Cheesesteak that ultimately won out on my first visit. And that's a strange decision for me because the Flyers stink and their fans are even worse. They're the worst organization in hockey. Maybe I just wanted fries on my sandwich. Yea - that's it. So the Gritty is a good amount of beef, fries tossed in Old Bay and topped with white cheddar cheese sauce atop a seeded roll. I added fried onions. The sandwich scores higher than the Flyers. I was a fan of the seeded roll which was super fresh. The cheese sauce was tasty and complemented the fries really well. They were super crispy, well seasoned and plentiful. The beef wasn't the best I've ever had, but it was tender and cooked well. All-in-all a good sandwich. The gals up front were attentive and friendly. They took my order quickly. Hats off to the kitchen for getting my food out promptly among the online orders. The place was pretty clean and had a ton of Philly Sports pics on the wall. The music on the radio was some throwback stuff - thank God it wasn't any of that mumble rap shit most kids play these days. Johnny's has a bunch of lunch specials that look worthwhile and a decent value. Locally owned spot worth giving your business to. It's a 4-star review from me that gets bumped to a 5 to spite the mopes who gave it a one.

We ordered dinner for the family and tried several dishes so we could sample a bit of everything…read more There were a couple bright spots (the onion rings and ranch were excellent), but overall the meal fell short of expectations. Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich - This was the biggest disappointment. The chicken breast was extremely thick and had a grainy texture that made me wonder if it was chicken breast with rib meat. If that's the case, it gives the impression that quality isn't a priority. The breading also fell off with almost every bite, and the sandwich wasn't well proportioned (one oversized tomato slice that wasn't cut evenly). Most importantly, it didn't taste like Nashville hot at all -- more like "Nashville not." Shrimp Po' Boy - Below average. The shrimp had a slightly fishy taste, and the bread didn't resemble proper po' boy bread. The greens were a spring mix, which felt like an odd choice. Traditional shredded lettuce would have worked much better. I've had po' boys in Louisiana, and while I wasn't expecting complete authenticity, I was expecting something closer to the spirit of the dish. This version missed the mark. Smash Burger - Probably the best of the three mains we ordered, but still just average. I've honestly had better smash burgers at chains like Shake Shack. Sides: The fries were great. We ordered the beer cheese sauce, which was fine but not necessary. The onion rings were the standout -- perfectly crispy with a clean bite. The homemade ranch served with them was excellent. Overall, I really wanted to like this place more, but the food didn't deliver enough for me to return.
