The outside is deceiving, as it doesn't look like a business. It's a wonderful, old-world vibe with Finnish tubs (which I didn't try, snacks, coffee and other drinks. Local come to relax, enjoy their outdoor space, read, or hang out. Very friendly staff I only ordered a mango juice and relaxed. Highly recommend. Oh, CASH only.

Great food and ambience! I had a great time and the service was nice. I will go again once i can afford it, I consider this place my vacation-within-10-miles lol

Cheap tasty coffee and a beautiful place. This is my favorite coffee shop in all of Humboldt. The whole vibe of the place is perfect. With free WiFi so you can mind your own business too. The workers are very cold. This is how a coffee shop should be. Amazing cheap drinks made by people who I'm not sure are trying to destroy me with their mind. Never tried the hot tubs. Though my peers say good things. Don't skip this place. Just amazing. Oh and there's a cat

I love it here! What works: -- the prices for the tubs and drinks are so reasonable! The drinks are far cheaper than what you'd find at a chain cafe -- the hot tubs are private, clean, and comfortable. I really appreciate that they're outdoors and surrounded by trees -- your hot tub time is dedicated to soaking and showering--not changing. They allot an additional half hour for you to be in the changing room, which means that there's no rush to get dressed and more time in the hot tub! -- really friendly and helpful staff -- great variety of drinks. They have something good for coffee lovers, tea drinkers, and kids -- there's the occasional cat that roams around -- the pond in the center of the cafe, and the proximity to downtown, make this a really beautiful and convenient spot to visit -- lots of parking nearby! What didn't work: -- no complaints on my end! If I really wanted to nitpick, I'd suggest that they add 1-2 savory food options to the cafe, just to add some variety -- there's only one restroom on the grounds, so not ideal if more than one person has to go Things to consider: -- there's a small fee for towels but you can bring your own for free -- there's no hair conditioner, just shampoo/body wash, so you'll want to bring that if you need it -- the cafe itself is on the smaller side, so I wouldn't bring a group larger than 4 to hang around

NEED TO KNOW: Call one day in advance to book an appointment. You can do a walk-in but i'd highly suggest an appointment. CASH ONLY. such a random little spot but it's such a nice experience ! old-fashioned, traditional place to relax staffed with young adults. unfortunately i didn't try any drinks but i did 30 mins each of the sauna and hot tub. honestly it was the perfect amount of time. the staff helps you out and walks you through everything. don't be afraid to try this place ! i loved it. you get your own private area with a shower too. click the pictures to read more !

great prices (cash only or local checks). Will have to check out the saunas next time I'm in the area. Had a steamer with coconut and lavender syrups, as well as a croissant. All very delish. We sat outside and enjoyed the greenery and the pond, super great atmosphere. Baristas were kind and helpful. Will be back for sure.

I was real impressed with this place. It's a nice and cozy cafe with a large yard and pond in the back. It also serves as a Finnish spa of some sort with hot tubs and saunas. We ended up booking a hot tub for 1/2 hour and we found it to be super relaxing, private, and clean. The hot chocolate there was reaaaallll good! If you do want to partake in the hot tub and sauna, make sure you plan ahead. It was pretty booked and we were just lucky to be able to take a spot in the middle of the day.

Such a cool spot!! I've never heard of a cafe with private tubs and saunas and now I can't get it out of my head. The cafe is decorated with Finnish touches and feels like a place to retreat and find solace during a storm. The energy is welcoming and warm, and the outside atmosphere is even more delightful. You can rent a private tub for $30 for half an hour, and the tubs are clean and indeed very private. We loved our experience and would love to return next time I'm in the area! Oh, and I can't forget to mention the hot cocoa. It was everything a hot cocoa should be and more.

    The tastiest mocha!

Magical, mystical, cozy vibes here! Make sure you call for your hot tub reservation early because the lines will be off-the-hook busy the second they open! Or at least that was our experience. We were able to book something for the morning after we called. They open at 11 and the first reservation is at 11:30! We arrived a little early and got to go in as soon as we checked in for hour-long soak. They are cash-only, so be prepared! We spent a slightly drizzly morning in the tubs under the gorgeous trees. So calm and serene and vibrant! We ordered a mocha from the cafe on our way out, which was chocolatey, not too sweet, and piled high with real whipped cream. If you are in Arcata, this is a must-visit spot!

Such a simple yet complex ham and cheese sandwich, and Cafe Brio prepares theirs open-faced, allowing one to enjoy the flavors of the multiple cheeses without everything getting lost between two slices of bread. I know I definitely enjoyed it! The only thing I would do differently next time is order an extra poached egg bc one simply wasn't enough for me. I love me some runny yolk, and I wanted more of it with every bite. My friends ordered the Brio Benedict and Eggs Brian, and I'm assuming they enjoyed their meals as much as I enjoyed mine bc they might as well have licked their plates clean. And in absolute silence, too! You know the food is good when the conversation comes to a halt and all you hear are occasional "yums" between bites. I look forward to returning the next time I make the five-hour drive to visit my friends. And I definitely need to work my way through their pastry selection bc everything in that case looked absolutely divine. Next time, I'm saving room for pastries. Or maybe I'll just order them to go bc who am I kidding?!

The frittata appeared made fresh, not in a pan baked that morning and then carved out. I appreciated that, and the lightly dressed greens and super sweet tomatoes that accompanied it. I had a golden milk to drink, which was good and unsweetened (which is what I want). I wish their chai had been house-made too, without sugar pre-added. Coffee was decent. The dining space has plenty of seating inside and out, and parking is plentiful and free in the downtown square. The shop also makes their own bread, which is good, and a variety of yummy looking pastries, many of which feature fruits in season.
