Their mostly drive-thru location was near our hotel and I went here every morning while in town to get my go-to Oat Latte. They were so friendly and you never feel pressured to tip on a $6 drink. From where I live on the central coast, prices here are in line with fresh ground coffee drinks. They are slow on weekends at busy times but quality and customer service was worth it.My husband got the Oat Mocha and he liked it too. I get there near when they open so not too busy. We stopped in the town of Arcata for a little coffee jolt and a walk around the square. This place seems to be new amongst the old architecture and places to go around the plaza. I ordered a Mexican Mocha with little whip. It was really good and sweet, so no additional sugar was needed.I love the little dancing bean logo, put a smile on my face when I got my drink. Heard a lot about this place from my students who attend Humboldt so when we came to visit it was a must go to! First it was such a cute local place and the people there were super kind and helpful as we stared at the menu. We don't get many local coffee places in LA so this was a treat. This is one of my favorite stops in Arcata. I absolutely love the coffee, it's always so delicious! I'm always pleased with their service and smiles and happy demeanor. The coffee quality is above others, and their barista abilities are excellent. My husband got a hot chocolate and I got a large triple latte. They were both wonderful! I later got a dark roast coffee, which was French roast today. I love dark roast, but I am not a fan of French roast, and theirs was really good. I was quite surprised that I enjoyed it a lot. I will definitely be stopping here on my way out tomorrow, because I rarely come up here and need to make sure I get it again before I leave!!! read more

On a recent trip up to the Redwoods we stayed a few nights in Arcata, Ca. This little coffee stand was located near to our hotel and was in walking distance. I can say that I really miss these drive-thru's from living in the Pacific Northwest. We used to frequent one everyday right by our house and what we miss most is the customer service and extra attention to quality they put into their drinks. This location Jitter Bean lived up to all that we remember. We ordered a couple lattes and what made it nice is the very friendly barista that chatted us up while our drinks where being made. After handing us our drinks came the extra little touch which includes an Andy's mint...you just don't get this extra attention to details from the Mega giants as they herd us cattle through...if I am back here in area I will for sure be making my intention to stop here again. read more

The location is convenient, yes. And since the location is small there is little seating, which is okay. My drink was not too sweet and made quickly (Tea au Lait). But while sitting at the only chair there I got to hear the manager brag about his three-day weekend coming up, and then argue about the merits of Lady Gaga with his staff as the radio blasted. Went in today on my 15min break thinking that would be plenty of time since there was only two people In front of me I ordered a 20oz mocha and a 16oz white chocolate mocha... waited over 20min to get my drinks and I was late back to work from my break .. But to top it all off 3-4 people who were behind me got their drinks before I did... Seriously? It takes 20min to make my drinks but 3minutes for your regular customers? To me that is incredibly rude! It's first come first serve!
