Coffee, The Seattle Times comic strip, and a cozy fireplace
Luisa V.

This is such a beautiful and cozy coffee house. I am not sure if the guy at the counter is the owner or the manager but he is so kind and over all the rest of the staff is as well. The coffee is great, their pastries selection is ample and the ambiance is welcoming. The place is clean with comfy seating options, from small tables to a long couch by the fireplace and even a long table for a group gathering. The bathroom is very clean... Love it here!

Food is quite good. They even have gluten free biscuit. It's awesome - not so sweet, just enough. Big variety of tees to drink. Latte is a bit more coffee-y than milky, I would like to add a bit more milk. Service is fast, we didn't have to wait long for our order. Noise level is 3/5 - not so loud, for there is always someone sitting, chatting and enjoying their food.

Really fun vibe. Sculpture outside and art on the walls - even in the restroom. Good coffee - but skip the blackberry late. Blackberry & coffee are not a match made in heaven Nice latte art. A great place to visit over coffee.

Falafel salad--spongey texture, very strange and inauthentic

A cozy cafe in downtown Edmonds, Cafe Louvre seems like a nice place to study/work solo or meet up with a friend inside during the rainy months and on their patio in the summer. They have a nice looking selection of cakes, cookies, and desserts that I did not try. Sadly what I did try was really not great. We had the falafel salad and a walnut anise biscotti. The latter had no anise flavor, though it was full of walnuts. A good biscotti, just not what I thought I would be tasting. The salad had crisp, fresh lettuce but otherwise it was garnished with some tired bits of mushy tomato and, inexplicably, pickle slices. The so-called falafel bore very little resemblance to real falafel--it was spongey, not crisp, and while the flavor was okay, it wasn't quite right. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating. I was disappointed with my food, but it's possible I just ordered the weaker offerings; surely this cafe has its strengths based on how busy it gets!

What a nice, relaxing coffee shop. Large space, with paintings by local artists on the walls, and wifi. Great place to sit down, have a conversation, and enjoy the seaside breeze in the shade. Their menu isn't vegan per se but they'll gladly make some vegetarian dishes vegan. I had a falafel wrap with fresh, crispy veggies and a custom-made hummus? sauce. They only have one bike stand in the front but it's better than none.

A gathering place. Interior warmed by a fireplace or patio seating for a clear day. Great coffee=Bradley. And, then there's biscotti by Macrinas. One of the owners, Haifa, may come by for a visit. All in all, it's the quintessential coffee shop.

This is the best coffee shop to not only go and relax with a latte or pastry, It may be the best place to go and relax in Downtown Edmonds. As for coffee shop space, it's Alaska spacious, Utah library quiet, the fireplace makes it Montana cozy, the service speed in New York minute fast with you bet ya Minn-e-so-ya nice. With all this the coffee just needs to be average. It was fine. By now, in this day and age, it's hard to mess up a latte. It's the experience that people leave the house. This is a good experience-- part PNW, part Paris. Who wooden want to sit down and drink off Van Gogh's "Starry Night," or Mr. D.V., "Mona@ with friends?

Very large selection of tea.

I don't make my way out to Edmonds very often but happened to be out there recently for a veterinary appointment for my doggo. While I was waiting I decided to go grab a tea and stumbled upon this cute little coffee shop. It has a very casual and comfortable vibe with a good amount of indoor/patio seating available. The staff were friendly, fast and offered a choice between paper cups and ceramic. The sandwich/wrap selection was surprisingly large and they had a great assortment of pastries and other baked food in their glass cooler. Additionally, they had one of the larger selections of higher end tea I've seen in a while. All in all, this made for an excellent little place to stop while I waited for my doggo's checkup to complete.

8 oz Americanos. Decent taste, but weak.

Street parking only, but if you're open to a walk, downtown Edmonds tends to have ample parking around the area. When busy, they do provide a buzzer that has a short range, but opens up the opportunity of walking around slightly. Items can be a bit pricey, but they're also very filling. Large space, lots of chatter, and friendly service. Number Three Combo Club - we wanted waffles this time but also bacon and sausage. This was the variety pack we desired, though wish it came with both sausage and bacon! Opted for the bacon and it was thick, fatty, and delicious. One waffle cut into the four quadrants, ready to soak up syrup. Simple, but a classic. Chunky Monkey Pancakes - goofy perhaps, but another timeless classic combo of chocolate and bananas. Three chocolate chip pancakes, fluffy and ready to absorb the Nutella drizzle. Could have a few more chocolate chips embedded for a more balanced spread, but the chocolate drizzle helps spread flavor. Bananas for the healthy balance of course.

That said, we waited nearly an hour for a table for our party of six. They sat us in a booth, clearly designed for 4. A large metal bar sits on the edge of the booth just under the fabric, but there isn't a way to avoid sitting on it when crammed in. OK, it's very uncomfortable, but so be it. The check comes, the (excellent) server graciously separates the bill for us which I appreciate. She added a 20% gratuity which I understand for large parties. However, I did some basic math and recognized they add the tip amount and then charge tax on the bill plus the tip. I pointed this out to the server but she was clearly too busy to do anything about it. While for our table, it's not a ton of money, over time and who knows how many tables, this is, in my opinion a massive and unacceptable mistake.

The menu has classy options and is rather understated, which is a relief. [I positively despise the Cheesecake Factory model of long menu of items with small variations on the same boring narrow band of ingredients -- which taste roughly all the same...marketing to a customer base with limited palates is all kinds of unappetizing!] Here, in addition to more reasonable portion sizes than the Cheesecake Factory, the menu choices are delectable and artful. Each crumpet topping or combination demonstrates care and good cultural taste. I had the savory pesto, ricotta, and tomato...it was adroitly put together on a plate. I wolfed it down at the outdoor seating patio with my fingers. An off-the-street enclave of restaurants, pubs, and ice-cream shops is a nice setting -- albeit a bit too concrete and too hot in summer. I will be returning to this open-kitchen, informal, tea and crumpets shop for more of their menu...

We came here again a couple days later because our first visit was so good!…read more It was a little less busy when we went this time, so we were able to park in their lot, which is convenient! This restaurant is perfect for dogs since they have a covered patio! It's comfortable but not super casual, making for a delightful ambiance. I like that you order at the counter and your food is brought to you. The servers are kind and make sure to take care of you! To drink, I had their special lavender mocha, iced. You first taste the chocolate and then a hint of lavender. The mango mule and strawberry basil spritzer are delicious drinks too. To eat, we had the pulled pork sandwich, the blue burger, and the lamb burger. The burgers were cooked nicely and were flavorful. The pulled pork is tender and tasty! My favorite part of the dish is the fries--if you're a French fry fiend, make sure to come here and get their fries! We'll definitely continue to come back to Blackbird for lunch!

And the sandwich had great flavor and the chicken was cooked well. The service fell short for us. We ordered drinks which didn't come out until our food did -- which was almost a 25 minute wait. When the food did come out, I was brought the wrong meal and had to wait longer. For me, the prices are also a little steep for the portion sizes and also not having a server. Luckily the taste of the food was great! We sat outside -- which was nice patio area. There were also a handful of tables inside but they were all full.

We were a party of six - 4 adult and 2 five year old boys. We picked the place under the assumption that the kids can get pasta and it would be a peaceful lunch for us adults. We realized after being seated that they do a different brunch menu on the weekends (which has no pasta at all) and were caught a little off guard due to our own oversight - no fault of the restaurant at all. We got the boys sandwiches (Sausage & Egg Breakfast Sandwich) off the kids brunch menu but lunch was far more chaotic than we had imagined. My only point in sharing this is, if you have picky toddlers who like their staples, especially hooked on pasta - just visit outside the brunch hours. Us adults got the below and everything was delicious. Very large portion sizes and it would have been wise to share in hindsight but nonetheless good food. 1. Avocado Toast 2. Tomato Bruschetta 3. Chicken Fried Chicken & Polenta There are only 2 dedicated spots for parking for this restaurant which can be grab to grab but there is plenty of street parking which can also be challenging during peak weekend hours. So bake in a little time to arrive early if you have made a reservations. Staff is wonderful and service is quick.

We started with the dumplings and ahi tacos, and both were outstanding. Every dish felt especially intentional -- not just the presentation, but in the way the flavors were built. Nothing felt random or overdone. Everything was thoughtful, balanced, and genuinely delicious. But the real showstopper was the El Jefe tacos. These were made with wagyu steak, and then topped off with bone marrow that you scrape onto the tacos yourself, which took them to another level entirely. Rich, savory, decadent, and completely unforgettable -- easily the most insane tacos I have ever had. We finished with the lilikoi crème brûlée, which was the perfect ending to the meal -- creamy, bright, and memorable without being overly heavy. The ambience made the whole experience even better. Bar Dojo has such a cozy, welcoming feel inside -- warm, intimate, and comfortable without feeling too formal. HUGE credit to Chef Luis Brambila and the team at Bar Dojo. The whole meal felt creative, intentional, and executed with serious skill. The fact that my only picture is an empty plate should tell the whole story -- the food was just too good to wait. Don't let your taste buds miss out!
