    Sparse, but clean.
    Will L.

We've been meaning to stop by the "other" Cafe Hitchcock (the one in Seattle, not the one on Bainbridge), but it's been closed most of the time we come by. It's strictly a daytime place, just breakfast and lunch. They're probably catching the morning Bainbridge commuters and downtown lunch crowd. The place is pretty bare bones and sparsely decorated. We came in for breakfast and the menu was sparse--just 3 items!--and there's a small selection of muffins and pastries. We each got their breakfast sandwich (there was a vegetarian option for my girlfriend, yay!), and a scrumptious (but messy and sticky) walnut-pear muffin. I also got an English Breakfast tea; they have a small selection of teas, but decent options and all loose leaf. Tea was quite good. I'm likely to come by again on the way to or from the ferry. As long as I'm walking by before 3! Wish they were open later!

Would give this place five stars if it weren't for all the snooty vibes. Grateful that this place was willing to let us wait 45 minutes before finally offering a table on a "busyish" Sunday. So annoying how snooty these Bainbridge restaurants are, lol..we were simultaneously waiting for Ba Sa (again, unless the Host likes you or you're constantly on them, they'll skip you in the waiting line--steer clear of this place, tbh) and Proper Fish across the street, but Cafe Hitchcock notified us first. I will say the food and drinks are high quality. The decor and vibe are also pretty clean. I got the British influence throughout and on the menu. The food does take some time, so you definitely want to order right away.

It was fine, but not what we expected. We arrived about an hour after opening and were shocked to be the only customers in the store when we had heard this place was booming and usually had a wait. There were only 5 menu items to choose from (3 very similar sandwiches, pre-made yogurt parfaits, or oatmeal) so we went with the roasted red pepper sandwich. It was just fine. I also got an almond milk latte with maple syrup and was satisfied with it. Service was also fine. Our names were not called when our drinks were ready and our food took a while to come out with being the only customers. I don't think we'd return.

Bacon, egg and cheese was very good!!! Aioli for the win!!!! Mocha could have had a little more sweetness but still good!!

Cafe Hitchcock is a cozy and creative café. Known for its locally sourced ingredients, it serves a variety of breakfast, lunch, and coffee options in a relaxed, stylish setting. Within just 15 minutes of arriving, a dozen customers had already walked in! It's clearly a popular spot, perfect for getting some work done or catching up with friends. Just across the hallway, you'll find a quiet, inviting workspace, tastefully styled with a touch of sophistication. I'll share some of that area in another post.

The food is amazing definitely on the pricier side but the quality of the food makes up for it. Staff was very helpful and place was very clean and neat.

Food is refreshing and the portion sizes are great. Went to the location on Bainbridge Island for lunch and it was busy! Check on the soup of the day and a coffee shop is Nextdoor

Cafe Hitchcock seems to be a delightful sort of secret. Not at all busy, easy to miss, but wonderful food, service, and soaked beans (coffee, lol). Cool music pumping through the space. Delicious breakfast. The avocado toast had bits of cilantro that were both aromatic and tasty. Solid wood tables that did NOT rock. I would have been very happy to sit her with an open journal and write for hours. It's a soft, warm space with a delightful ambiance. I would love a place like this within walking distance!

Such a cute little coffeehouse that also serves breakfast and lunch. They were making fresh flower arrangements for the tables when we got there. So cute. My chai was good and they have milk alternatives which I always appreciate. Sadly, I was so hungry that I demolished my delicious breakfast sandwich before I got a picture! The gluten free bread was whole grain and very good. The sandwich had two eggs, bacon, greens and cheese. A hearty and filling way to start the day here in Seattle! Highly recommend.

Cool cafe in a centrally located spot in downtown Seattle

Cute cafe centrally located in downtown Seattle, across the street from the ferry terminal pedestrian bridge. Friendly service, freshly baked goodies, rotating kombucha on tap. What I order: turmeric latte with oat milk & honey, kombucha is a must. Their salads & sandwiches are also delicious. The ambience is giving clean modern with a touch of vintage class, purrfect for lunch, business meetings, dates, remote work for a change of scenery. They also have a stainless steel Berkey water filter which is Ani approved for the best slow filtered water on the market!

Ordered the breakfast sandwich with bacon that was very tasty. Pretty pricey for breakfast ($16) but otherwise a good size and tasty. They also have wifi and a plenty of seating.

Food takes a while if you don't order ahead, even if you show up before the lunch rush. This is an ok place. Better suited for coffee. This sandwich here is half of what I ordered. The full sandwich was $18 with tip and tax at $23. I feel like $23 will get me 2 foot long subs. I could have fed me and a guy in need on the streets a full lunch if I just went to subway. I'm still hungry and I'm not a big eater. You be the judge.

Was looking for a quick breakfast and coffee while in Seattle for work and at a hotel nearby. Happened to walk past Cafe Hitchcock and figured I'd give it a try--it was a pleasantly surprising GREAT decision! First of all, my almond milk cappuccino was excellent. Not bitter at all, perfectly steamed, and a great size for the price. But what blew me away was the breakfast sandwich I ordered. The photo attached does not do it justice (and I had already eaten half when I realized I should share how good it was). The toasty focaccia, gruyère, garlic aioli, arugula, egg, and thick cut bacon worked perfectly together and was seriously one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've had in my entire life. I wish I discovered this my first day in Seattle, it would've saved me two sad hotel breakfasts!!

I genuinely don't know what to do with that explanation. The food took so long. I ordered my steak medium rare and it arrived overcooked. I thought this was a steakhouse and yall can't even cook a steak medium rare? One person in our party never received their salad despite asking multiple times. Their stupid steak dish is $50 entree with zero sides. I added cauliflower for an extra $17 charge and received something I could have made in five minutes. Finally, we tried to order dessert and were told they were out of the item we all wanted. This place is a ripoff with terrible service.

The space has a warm, modern-industrial vibe, wood floors, soft lighting, exposed ceilings, and thoughtful decorative touches. It's intimate without feeling cramped, and the open kitchen adds a nice energy. Our server was incredibly personable and professional, striking that perfect balance of friendly and knowledgeable. We did the American Omakase. We started with a trio of entry snacks: smoked anchovies, prosciutto with watermelon, and fresh focaccia. The anchovies were punchy and vibrant, definitely for fans of big flavor. The prosciutto and watermelon were refreshing, and the focaccia tasted like it came straight from a great neighborhood bakery. Course 1: Amberjack Crudo Fresh, clean, and beautifully balanced. The tomato compote and rolled vegetables paired so well together, and the flakes of salt on top really opened up the flavor of the fish. Course 2: Diver Maine Scallop Hands down one of the highlights of the night. The scallop was paired with breadcrumbs, oyster mushrooms, and a miso sauce that made the whole dish feel warm, savory, and almost Thanksgiving-like in its comfort. VERY good. Course 3: Pork Belly Served with carrot puree, apple "sauce", and leeks. The pork belly itself was melt-in-your-mouth tender, and the sweetness of the apple paired perfectly. The leeks were a surprise standout. Course 4: Lamb Rich, moist, and deeply seasoned, with a lovely rub. The artichoke hearts added such a sharp, earthy contrast that it legit gave me goosebumps. The potato purée and jus tied everything together. Course 5, Dessert: Chocolate something (oops it was like a mousse) with Poached Pears & Raspberry Creamy, balanced, and not overly sweet. A perfect finish. Overall, Violet delivered a thoughtful, memorable meal with impeccable pacing and standout dishes from start to finish. Would absolutely return

To finish off our meals, we shared the Olive Oil Cake ($14) - basil yogurt cremeux, strawberry gel, and the Chocolate Tiramisu ($16) - mascarpone, rum, amaretto, candied hazelnuts. What I loved: Oh man, every dish was delightful. I found something to savor and repeat in each of the dishes we were served. From the sweetness of the heirloom tomatoes, to the creamy burrata, from the crispy potatoes, to the fresh peas and everything in between. Our least favorite, at the table was the mushroom Angnolotti, inconsistent from bite to bite. The presentation of the Carrot & Tahini dip was a bit haphazard compared to the rest of the dishes served, but the flavor was still lovely. Why I loved it: The service was unparalleled, comfortable yet professional and quick to offer recommendations for our larger party. The decorations and quaint spaces truly welcoming, and the food, excellent. Cost: High ($40+ per person)
