Cafe Artisan serves fantastic banh mis! The bread was super crispy and not too thick and the grilled pork was juicy and full of flavor. I also really enjoyed their house sauce, I feel like most banh mi shops just put mayo on their banh mi but Cafe Artisan's house sauce includes garlic and some other spices that I thought added a lot of flavor to the overall sandwich. My two recent banh mis were in SF (Saigon, L&G) and this is quite a bit better than both of them; I actually enjoyed eating this sandwich beyond its nutritional value. Overall, the banh mi is quite cheap for downtown Seattle food ($12), portions are large (especially the meat), and it's quite tasty - highly recommend! The cafe is pretty quiet and most people seem to do takeout. The staff are super nice and friendly. We always try to go here when we can for lunch on Saturdays. It's very sweet but we have been there enough that they know our orders! You NEED to try the Everything Croissant, best breakfast sandwich I've had, and a Vietnamese Iced Coffee, reminds me of Maui. This place have been on my list for a while now since it's not your typical place to get a banh mi in my opinion, so I was intrigued. Their hours are also very limited so I took a chance when I was running errands in the area :) It's only take out at the moment and they have a small window where they take your order and another small window next to it to grab your food I came during lunch time and they were pretty busy but it wasn't too bad. The people there are very nice. It seems like there are regulars that come by here as well. I ended up getting the tofu banh mi ($8.5). The banh mi was pretty good. The baguette was soft and fluffy, it would have been perfect if they toasted it more to give a small crunch. The tofu was delicious. Very well marinated and flavor was on point. My only critique is that they didn't have enough fillings to help Ballance the tofu, because after a while, tofu can seem too sweet. Overall, I'm glad to have given it a try :) read more

Came by on a weekday to grab a quick lunch because a friend recommended their banh mi and was happy to find that there was no line around 11:30. Ordered their classic banh mi with pate and an iced Vietnamese coffee. The coffee came out first and was perfectly strong and small as expected. Needing a quick bite for lunch, I went to Artisan Café & got their smoked salmon sandwich. It consists of melted Swiss cheese, tomatoes, & smoked salmon on a toasted butter croissant. My girlfriend & I thought it wasn't that great. It was pretty bland & didn't feel like it was worth the price tag. In retrospect I should've tried their banh mi instead since this place has great reviews. However, the smoked salmon is something I would not recommend. read more

Stopped in for a quick bite to eat for breakfast. Right now, 2/20/24, they aren't doing in house finding as the co-owner is undergoing a medical procedure. It's small inside, but don't let that fool you - these sandwiches are fresh-made with lots of meat and cheese, the menu is pretty straightforward and they are super conveniently located right in Belltown off of 5th Ave. Today I got a grilled cheese with added Turkey (which makes it a hot turkey panini!) The meal comes with chips. I almost got soup too, but decided I'd be full with just the sandwich. I wish I could have gotten a smaller sandwich and side of soup, but for the hot sandwiches they don't do halves. They accept credit cards and have a few places to sit down inside (but not much room to stand and wait for your order). I usually get it to go since I like super close. Tip: they are only open until mid afternoon, so don't be too late with lunch! read more

Cute little Belltown cafe with friendly owners and delicious coffee and food. I ordered their chai and it was tasty, a bit on the creamier side, but pretty good. I also love that they serve a wide variety of savory items like croissants, sandwiches, salads and Vietnamese baguettes! There's a large TV in the cafe too so that's good for watching games if you're not into the sports bar scene.
