    A classic sandwich type
    Eve D.

This place is great for what it is. I like that it's an incredibly casual feeling space. Sandwiches, a simple burger, teriyaki, salads. It is standard lunch fare but it's very tricky finding a lunch spot in this part of downtown that isn't McDonald's and is going to be less than 10$. The sandwich I got had a nice quality to the meat and good thickness. Large amount of bread choices. It was all I could ask for when paying someone to make me a humble hand made sandwich. I'll be back for the very large breakfast menu.

    daily specials. all are good.

Our almost-exclusive lunch spot, and occasionally breakfast spot, when we work in Seattle... Of course, our office is just two floors up the elevator in the Securities Building from them--they have a side entrance that connects to the Securities lobby so we don't even have to set foot on the sidewalk. Breakfast sandwiches are okay in a pinch, on-par with McD's or Jack-in-the-Box in my mind. Eggs are cooked to order, but from 'scrambled egg mixture' and not fresh-cracked eggs. The big drawback with their breakfast menu is that they don't open until 8:00 am, which is about the time we start having clients come in, so I'd rarely want to wait that long. Hot sandwiches ("paninis") are all quite nice, but the cold sandwiches I've had so far have felt a shade mediocre. I generally gravitate toward the 'specialties' menu, for a delicious and generous portion of chicken teriyaki. The Bibimbap is good too, if spicy Korean stir-fry is your kind of thing. I recommend them if you're in the area (Macy's, Bed Bath & Beyond, etc) and want a nice inexpensive lunch.

If you're with people that all want something different, or if you just want a wide selection to choose from, the Third Ave Cafe is the place for you. Something for everybody there; a wide selection of paninis, burgers, all the classic deli sandwiches (including a vegetarian), teriyaki, and bogoli which is a marinated Korean beef. Today I took a spread my culinary wings and ordered the bi bim bap which is a great Korean one-dish meal. It comes in a cross between a plate and a bowl. There's white rice piled in the middle topped with thin slices of what I think is scrambled egg, and around the rice are meat, similar to the beef you'd find in sukiyaki. The beef may actually be the bogoli. Then there's noodles, lettuce, and different vegetables such as cucumbers, sprouts, and mushrooms. They give it some punch with hot sauce and you can indicate how much you want. Then following my uncle's lead, I kind of mixed it into this awesome combination of flavors and textures. I'm always struck by the wide selection of drinks they have available too. The breakfast is pretty normal deli fare; bagels, muffins, and breakfast burritos. They serve Caffe D'arte coffee and make espresso. They also have cookies. Place is really clean too.

this sandwich was highly impressive as the main part of the…read moresandwich, it was pretty necessary that the pork be cooked to near-perfection, and i have to say it was here it gave off a deep, brown-ish color, which showed the extent of it's cooking and marination. It wasn't quite incredibly tender, but the marinade added an absolute ton of flavor. more importantly, it was present plentifully throughout the sandwich, so practically every bite came filled with pork I also have to mention how packed together the ingredients are between the buns. when you start eating, it's inevitable that a quarter of the ingredients will fall onto the wrap below, leaving a nice secondary meal to finish off after the sandwich is done. the sandwich is packed incredibly tight during the wrapping process, but it unravels a bit while eating. for me, the major highlights of this meal was the onions and the aioli Starting with the onions, these may be the best I've ever had on a sandwich. They're caramelized amazingly, placed onto the sandwich in astoundingly large pieces, are crunchy, and there's just a lot of them. They're just wonderful both texturally and taste-wise. This sandwich is absolutely lathered with aioli - practically dripping with it. This boosted the overall flavor so much, especially because this aioli was addictingly good. In my experience, the amount of sauce has been directly proportional to how much I enjoyed a sandwich, and when the sauce is this good - it's even on the top of the bun! - i absolutely loved it Somehow the lettuce stayed crunchy despite all the otherwise wetness going on in the sandwich. Props for that The jalapenos were great as well for that extra bit of spicy - I would've loved to have more of them while the bread was toasted well, the one downside was i thought it was pretty hard and tough, which made chewing kind of difficult. I found my jaw to be pretty tired at the end after eating this. I would've much preferred a softer roll that's easier to bite into I've had similar sandwiches from Paseo and Bongos, and in my opinion this does edge out both of those Comparing to Paseo, the sandwich there has way more oil, making it more sloppy and I do like the bread there a lot better, but the pork feels richer and better marinated here (although less fatty), and the onions are definitely caramelized better here as well. Bongos has a pretty similar level of pork with more, but onions are definitely a step down What moves this place above those two for me is the amount of aioli used here far exceeds those other places, which just makes the overall eating experience better For the price (about 14 dollars) this is a really filling meal

Their signature Caribbean Roast sandwich is absolutely phenomenal and I have the hardest time ordering anything else when I'm here. I have tried the nachos version of it before as well, and that's equally delicious. The key is definitely that succulent roasted pork. I will say that the sandwich version is MESSY so don't wear white, and also just be mindful if you have plans after. This year, my dad decided to order a pre-seasoned and smoked turkey from Paseo and my GODDD it was good! We made a gravy from the drippings as well which turned out so good too. We also get their street corn that was said to serve 4-6 but it was generous and we had leftovers. Absolutely a MUST try, 10/10 no notes. The indoor space is really cute, but I was confused as to why everything was blocked off and restricted to takeout only. I ordered the famous Caribbean Roast sandwich and a side of rice and beans, which came to a little less than $30. While it's a good sandwich, it felt a bit heavy; I really found myself looking for more acid to cut through the fat and grease. I'm glad I was sharing with Jenny because it's quite a lot for one person. I also noticed toward the end that the bread was burnt. Overall, it's a solid sandwich, but between the stomach issues and the char, I'm not sure I'd go back.

Located in the Seattle Center Armory, along with many other food vendors, Big Mike's Sandwich Company is serving up huge cheesesteaks, chopped cheese, and other East Coast-style subs. For $25, I picked up the cheesesteak and fries combo. Not a terrible price for the portion. Waited about 10-15 minutes for the sandwich to come out. You order on a tablet here, and then they call your name. It's a small storefront, so you really have to stay nearby to hear your name being called in the large space that is the Armory. Not much interaction with staff. Plenty of seating throughout the Armory, though shared with other restaurants. The food came out piping hot. Obviously, they cook everything fresh to order because the inside of the fries was like lava. The fries were thick-cut and seasoned to perfection. The sandwich was good. I thought some pieces of the steak were a bit tough, and the roll seemed a bit over-steamed or possibly stale. A good sandwich and decent portion, nonetheless. I'm still going 5 stars here. I think Big Mike's is a great choice if you want a hearty, meat-filled sandwich and you happen to be in the area. However, I think you could be happy with another dining option in the Armory, too. My kids loved the MOD Pizza nearby.
