Unfortunately i don't have a good review to share. We went for Easter dinner had a 3:30 reservation. We didn't get seated until almost 4pm (totally understandable it was a holiday and the reservation before us didn't want to leave.) But it was all down hill from there, we sat for about 15-20 mins before the server came over. Luckily i asked a bus boy to bring us a round of waters while we were waiting (only brought enough water for 1/2 of the table b/c they ran out of glasses.). Server finally comes over and asked if we were ready to order our dinner, my mom responds how about drinks first. Server takes some of our drink orders and forgot to ask 2 people in our party. We ordered a bottle of wine (specific red wine) server comes back opens the bottle and says we don't have that kind. So we were stuck with the bottle he brought over and didn't even ask if it was ok before he opened it. I asked for lemons for my water (he never brought then and even reminded him 3 times.) salad was brought out and 3 had to be sent back b/c of the dressing (allergies) server never said anything about the salad and got annoyed when he had to take 3 back and being plain salad. The salad was all dressing it was like salad soup. Dinner finally comes little by little (understandable we were a big party and server only had two hands). Half of the people in the party didn't like their food, too much sauce, shrimp rubbery, didn't have much taste, etc. the biggest Issue that we had, we ordered chicken fingers and French friends for my uncle with special needs we waited 15 mins after the rest of us got our food and still no chicken fingers and fries (server no where in sight to ask what was going on). I went up to the hostess explained the situation and asked for a slice of pizza so he had something to eat. She was very apologetic and accommodating with a slice of pizza. However, it wasn't a good experience for us and unfortunately we won't be going back. Yes it was a holiday and i get that the service isn't as good as a "regular" day however we have a list of what went wrong and unfortunately that list is longer than what went right. read more

Well I must say I rang in the new year with a terrible experience at this place. I called to order just plain pizza and I figured how could that go wrong ? The man said "15 minutes " so I went in 20 being intranced in the football game. While walking in and tell the man I ordered 2 pies he told me they were "almost ready " with that I see another man finally starting to make my food. Now I could see if it were busy but come on , it's New Year's Day at 8pm and nothing was really going on. Well after another 15 mins or so and 32 dollars later I went home. My daughter had friends over to ring in the new year so 2 pies would be enough for them and maybe a slice for me the delivery driver that had to go out in the cold for the pizza. Well after 20 minutes of teenage girls talking non stop about nothing as they do they proceeded to leave the room and low and behold there was a whole pizza untouched. Today was my lucky day. I could watch the game with a cold one and a few slices of pizza , heaven I thought. Well after opening the box and almost throwing up in my mouth at the sight of this horrid concoction I could believe what I saw. The worst pizza on planet earth. Looked like it was a left over from New Year's Eve. Well needless to say after I took a picture of it for the sole purpose of keeping record of the worst pizza on earth I threw it in my fire place so not even the varmints outside would have to endure this catastrophic event. Me and my family went to cafe gio on January 31 Saturday had the such a bad experience with the service from the short women with blonde hair..we have been going there for years even when we moved to west Islip ..rude women ,obnoxious with attitude and puss on her face and we said something to her and to compensate her bad service she didn't charge for drinks and gave a dozen free zepolis and cheesecake ..just so owners no we will not be going there any more and will stay with mulberry street .why would you want a waitress that give free stuff and bad service very bad for cafe gio..this is Joey and Joyce palmera one day I will talk to sal about this when I am in area..so sorry but business is going elsewhere read more

Me and my wife have been going to cafe gio for year's amd last night we had the worst waitress she was unprofessional and dirty and forgot our salad and we ordered food she put in wrong order for my wife but we said forget about it we didn't get want to wait for another dish and she didn't even check us to see if we were ok..she was to busy talking and cursing with this other waitress .her name was tricia never have her and avoid her..this is the second time we had her and she is a trainwreck..owner should be advised of her..otherwise great food and nice atmosphere. .ask for one of the guys they are both great..but i actually would stop going there if she served us every week.. read more

last nite I went to eat with my family and had a bad experience to a restaurant we have been going to for years. Mostly due to the waitress we had trica . we waited such a long time for our appetizers and then it was the wrong calamari. then dinners took so long and two of them wasn't even the right orders we placed and the food was not that good as usual..we asked to speak to a manager to see if maybe we can get our food that we wanted and she said she was the manager. she did it even ask if we wanted anything else amd she said the owner was away..the dessert we're horrible and not fresh ..with the horrible service and experience we will not return.. read more
