The food is tasty, and portions are large enough. Classic Italian plates and plethora of pizzas upfront. Prices would be more palatable if they were a dollar or so less. Dinner entrees come with a large salad and one basket of garlic knots for the table. Menu is large. The waitress was a bit pushy in getting our orders before we had even decided what we wanted, and it made us feel rushed and not relaxed. And when we wanted her we couldn't find her!

100% probably the best pizza I've tried in Long Island so far. Really beautiful inside also. They had such creative slices, like a clam pizza and one with calamari. I can't wait to go back and try more. Glad i was driving on the service road and came across this place. Definitely put this on your must try pizza spots!

Love this place. Came here on a lunch date and have been obsessed ever since. The baked ziti is just how I like it. A flavorful sauce and a healthy portion . These garlic knots are sooooo delicious ! The dressing on the side salad is amazing. Jill is such a fantastic person. I won't even call her a waitress . She makes it seem like you've been friends for years. This is just an overall great place. Good vibes. Good ppl. Good food.

Grabbed a slice of pizza here for the first time. What a beautiful pizzeria slash restaurant. And since a nice selection of pizza. I don't know the name of the slice I got but it had penne and breaded chicken cutlets cut up on top. It was delicious! I will be back!

I stopped by Cafe Gio the other night and immediately realized it's been way too long! Sal was as hospitable as ever and my favorite waitress Shannon took great care of us as she always does! She keeps it real and is an absolute hoot. Sal absolutely crushed it as usual. I started with a rice ball (stuffed with bolognese meat sauce) and it was out of this world. I also tried one of his famous garlic knots with chicken parm stuffed inside.. wow.. incredible. Already feeling like I was on the brink of being stuffed and needing a nap, I ordered an avocado chicken salad and took half of it to go. It consisted of mixed greens, tossed with fresh avocado, grilled chicken, walnuts, dried cranberries & mandarin oranges. Their sesame dressing on the side really brought all the different flavors and textures together nicely. Sal - you the man!

This is a location I visit once and a while prior to grocery shopping. The pizza isn't bad...just not really worth the price. For anything other then a normal slice...a small fountain drink and "fancy" pizza will cost you about 10 bucks. More if you aren't paying cash. The food is good but the slices are small. Take that for what it's worth.

Walking into this pizzeria/restaurant, there was a great aroma of garlic in the air. The display window had beautiful looking pies but we were there for pasta night. It was quiet when we arrived and our waitress was a really nice young lady. I looked over the menu before we even got there and am happy to say that I would eat EVERY dish there. Fresh, hot, soft, pillowy garlic knots came out first. If their food is anything as good as their garlic knots, then we're in for a treat. I asked for baked clams which had nice toasty breadcrumbs on top and yummy whole clams. I ordered the rigatoni Ala gio, their signature dish with Italian sausage, broccoli rabe and sun dried tomatoes. My husband had the Belezza, fresh tomatoes, basil, marinara, fresh mozzarella in a pink cream sauce. He enjoyed it. We will be returning.

Cuisine: 6 Service: 5…read moreDecor: 7 Value: 8 Overall: 6 We chose this place due to a show we were watching at a theater steps away. Not a bad Italian restaurant, but there were small issues that did not give us the experience we were hoping for. Heading in, we told the server that we have about 1.5 hour before our show, making sure he is aware. He said, "No problem. Plenty of time." Sadly, throughout the night, we felt ignored a bit even when we were just simply trying to speed up ordering or pay our bill. I know he was busy with a full house, but we weren't asking for too much. Somehow, it took us nearly the full 1.5 hour to finish the meal, hence rushing to the theater barely on time. Another big issue was food that didn't come out hot. At the suggestion of our server, we ordered a combination platter of appetizers. It was huge with six different items and most of it tasted alright. Unfortunately, several items were not hot. Even worse, the shrimps and mussels were cold, which we brought to our servers attention and asked to take that portion of the platter off the bill. He offered replacements, but we had plenty of food and no time to wait for another round of appetizers, so we declined. After another 20 minutes, he brought us new plates of both items, this time hot. We looked at each other and just went with the flow. With that delay, our time was becoming a little more limited. We received our entrees about 45 mins before our show, which is still okay since the theater was a block away. I enjoyed the well made Veal Marsala, which was huge. Keep in mind that food is served in family style portions. The Penne Siciliana was also huge, but nothing special. We also asked for a Caesar Salad, which was decent. With 25 minutes to go, we said okay to checking out the dessert menu. Unfortunately, 10 minutes passed by before our server brought it over. We simply couldn't afford to chance another delay and just asked for the check. Paying for the bill took almost another 10 minutes, which made us rush to our show. Btw, the shrimp and mussels were not removed as we had asked for. We weren't going to fight it. Like I said, well priced Italian restaurant that serves decent food. Just wish the experience would have been a bit smoother.

The lunch menu was nice with a choice of Chicken Parmesan, Veal Marsala or Sole Oreganto. I went with the veal! First, shareable starters came to the table. Roasted red peppers, fresh mozzarella on top of tomatoes and rolled salami. So so good, I'd be happy with this and the bruschetta that was served. The veal came out and the sauce was very flavorful. Nice Marsala with quality mushrooms. Mmm mm! The surprise for us was the dessert trays. Various Italian cookies (I think I took all the pignoli cookies!) it was a nice ending to our meal. The place has a good amount of seating area including high tops, low booths, bar table, and a private room. There is also two unisex restrooms. I came with my boyfriend before an event at Farmingdale State College and we were on a time crunch. I made a reservation on OpenTable but it was not busy at all. We got greeted and seated immediately upon walking in. Then, a server came with ice water for the both of us before our actual waiter came to introduce herself and ask if we were ready to order. Shortly after ordering, the waitress brought us a plate of complimentary bread that comes with garlic on top and olive oil dip on bottom. We got the fried calamari which was perfectly battered (not too little nor too thick) and fried perfectly (not too burnt nor too pale). The taste was great and went well with the marinara sauce. The Clams Oreganata were delicious too - very meaty and flavorful with a nice sauce and lemon to squeeze on top. The Clams Vespa is very unique and creamy. It reminds me of a white Alfredo sauce with baked clams. They had a huge variety of drinks and it was hard for me to choose, but the lady recommended me the Sicilian Kiss which is a strawberry flavored cocktail. It is supposed to be on the sweeter side but the alcohol was strong too. As for our main entree, we got the Papperdelle Bolognese which was a veal, pork, beef ragu on ribbon pasta. Very well cooked and the taste and texture went perfectly together. We were so full, but never skip on dessert! I'm personally not a fan of cheesecake, but they have creme brulee cheesecake and rainbow cookie cheesecake which I would have loved to try if it wasn't for the cheesecake. But I was happy to find out I could order the rainbow cookie gelato that usually comes with the cheesecake. That was yummy! The texture reminded me of the cake mix Ice-Cream from Carvel and the flavor is not too strong. Overall, great vibes and service. Will definitely be back to the the pizza and other pastas.
