I like this restaurant. It's a hop, skip and a jump away from my house. It's usually very quiet during dinner time. We often have the whole restaurant to ourselves. Pita Bread-Soft and served warm. Falafel-Delicious! Cooked to a Golden Brown color. Crispy on the outside. Soft and moist on the inside. Chicken Combo-Chicken thighs were good, but slightly chewy. So sad that I have to do this, but my most recent visit here will be my last. Came for lunch with a group of co-workers - we ordered a pile of food (which was all very good), then asked to split the bill. We were informed that the policy is to only split the bill over 2 credit cards (with a large lunch group, it would have been nice to have been told that BEFORE ordering.) I asked if we could split the bill into 2 separate bills then (only 2 of the 6 people in our party had cash, and I understand some computer systems limit the number of cards.) The waitress responded that it was their policy not to do that either (not a technical limitation of their system.) I asked to speak to the manager, and the waitress responded (snottily, I might add) "I AM the manager!" I said, "You aren't the owner, because I've met him before and I saw him here a few minutes ago. Can I speak to him please." She snapped, "That's fine - it won't do any good." 5 minutes later, she came back and said the owner said we could split the bill "just this once." I understand that you're trying to save a few dollars by not processing multiple credit cards, so I hope it was worth it since the extra profit you would have made by us returning over and over will NEVER HAPPEN since we won't be back. There are too many Persian restaurants in the area to deal with attitudes and policies like that. read more

We had a delicious dinner and fantastic experience on our visit of February 28, 2019. We enjoyed a variety of dishes, lamb, beef, vegetables, wonderful appetizer tray and very flavorful teas. Our service was great and the portions were large enough that we had plenty to take home to enjoy. I like this place. The kabobs are always very tasty. The side dishes are good, too. They have good service and the food comes out quickly. This is the only place where i enjoy eating the egg plant dish called "igrra." Its very tasty. I also like that its a quiet place to eat, not very noisy. Very good Mediterranean food. A bit over priced and their portions are on the small side so I wavered between a 3 and a 4 but gave a 4 for taste, as opposed to portion size and price. Their eggplant dip is to die for. Excellent babaghanoush. Their hummus is a bit bland. Their Cornish hen entree and beef shish kebob entrees were both good with nice fresh steamed vegetables. Unlike most restaurants, you have little choice on entree sides and can only really get rice or veggies .... no hummus. Upgrade your entree and treat yourself to the sour cherry rice or rice with barberries. This restaurant won't take the place of my favorite Mediterranean restaurant: Red Moon Lounge ..: but their eggplant dip is so good that I will keep ordering here when craving Mediterranean and especially eggplant. read more

This is a cute little family run restaurant in a little strip mall on Glenoaks in Burbank. My family and friends that live in the area eat here regularly and this is my first time writing a review. I highly recommend Cafe Elegante for lunch or dinner. They have the best service. The food is excellent...so fresh and delicious. It is Mediterranean cuisine. You can easily eat healthy if you are on a vegetarian or a high protein diet. I love the beef and the chicken shish-kabob. Combinations come with great basmati rice or you can get a salad with tomatoes and cucumbers. I have never been disappointed. read more

Love this place. I don't know what they do to their rice, but it is the best rice on the planet. I like the kabobs, both chicken and beef. Portions are good and the price (I feel) is a super deal given the quality of the food. I like that they don't over season or bury their kabobs in a ton of garlic or onion - the quality of meat is good, so they don't have to hide it with spices. I usually do take out, and the staff is always super nice when I pick up. I personally think these are the best kabobs in Burbank. read more

A friend of mine brought me dinner from Cafe Elegante and I must say it is quite a treat. I had the Chicken Luleh which was perfectly seasoned, juicy and cooked well. I love the Basmati Rice. The Pita Bread is soft and tastes great with the Humus. I can eat a full container of that. The Yogurt and Cucumber Dip is perfect in my opinion. My next items I would like to try are the Persian Salad and the Baklava. My friend also surprised me with the Persian Ice Cream. I love ice cream and have never experienced the flavor of the rose water, I highly recommend it! I will be back for more. Fantastic!!! We followed other reviewers and tried Cafe Elegante. Very worthy of the 5 star rating. We tried the egg plant dip as recommended by other reviewers and was not disappointed. In fact our very courteous server even gave us a cucumber salad and tzatziki compliments of the house, we had the lamb, beef, ground beef(taste like gyro meat) and filet mignon. Everyone loved their meal. Very, very reasonable for 6 of us with a bottle of wine, dessert and coffee $136.00 - yes very reasonable! We will make a point of visiting them again!!!! read more

First time I went in I was greeted with a friendly helo. I order lunch special chicken breast which comes on a bed of rice a couple pie of pita a bread tomato and pepers/onions. When the server came and asked us if we wanted anything else (I wish I got her name but I haven't seen her before so maybe she's new?), I looked at my friend and casually said, "it's up to the birthday girl."
