We were disappointed in this experience. We love Indian food and have go-to places that we love. We were excited to try something new, and the reviews being so glowing ee had expectations going in. Maybe that was the issue? Either way this place just failed to impress us. Realizing they have only been open for a short time, I am willing to be forgiving, but there were just too many issues. We were handed menus and mine was stained with curry. Tacky, but okay. We had questions that the server was not able to answer, but he did go and ask in the back and provided them. One question that was never answered was the difference between the Medhu Vada and the Sambar Vada which both have the same EXACT descriptions. Obviouly a typo, but they had no comprehension as we pointed it out. I ordered a martini and my wife a coke. He didn't know what a martini was and got the bartender who made the drink and delivered it. I asked about my wife's coke, he had to get the server. Why is any of that so hard? The menu is a menagerie of items, less than a third were Indian cuisine. I can certainly forgive them as it's inside the Coast Hotel and not everyone is a fan of Indian Cuisine. So, on the plus side, you have many options. Oddly, no samosas are offered?? Anyway, we ordered Chicken Tikka Massala and Butter Chicken, both medium heat and a Massala Dosa. The Dosa wasn't bad, but the chutneys were. No flavor and pretty boring. The lentils were very tasty, probably the best part of the meal, aside from the martini. Spiced potatoes were good inside the crepe, but since it's essentially what's in a samosa, it begs the question why they don't offer them? Final insult were the curries which the server mixed up and left us confused. The manager did come by at that point to see how we were liking things and we expressed our confusion to which he said the bowls were switched. Sincerely, there was zero difference in the taste of the curries, and inexplicably the Tikka was loaded with peppers and huge chunks of onion. Both curries were light on protein and neither had any 'heat' to them. We certainly won't be back, at least not on purpose. If we did find ourselves here again, we won't order Indian.

This food and service was 10/10 my family's personal highlight was the butter chicken and garlic naan. We went sure what to especially with the eclectic menu but we were definitely delighted I highly recommend Arya and will be coming back.

Butter Chicken Masala, rice & Malabar Mutton Masala! Delicious!

Talk about a menu with a variety of options! Tonight, I dined at Arya with my step mom & daughter. We've been wanting to try the Indian food since hearing Arya was opening. We ordered the Malabar Mutton Masala, Butter Chicken Masala, and grilled Branzino (sorry, forgot to photograph that) Each dish was uniquely flavorful. The chicken in the butter Masala, was tender and served in a beautifully seasoned creamy sauce, while the Mutton was served in a flavorful gravy with delicious Indian seasonings. Thoroughly enjoyed it, and am looking forward to going back to try more of their large variety of menu options! Good, friendly service. Definitely recommend!

Google/Yelp Review…read more We really enjoyed our visit to A Taste of India in Burbank! I was immediately impressed by the atmosphere. At first, I thought they were simply playing Indian music, and then I realized it was actually a live performer singing--such a lovely surprise and it really added to the experience! Our waitress was incredibly sweet, friendly, and attentive. She made sure we were taken care of throughout our meal, and her service definitely made the experience even better. My only suggestion would be for the bartender to become a little more familiar with different cocktails. I ordered a Lemon Drop, and although he said he could make one, it unfortunately wasn't prepared quite correctly--the drink came with ice. That said, the flavor was delicious, so I still very much enjoyed it! Overall, we had a wonderful time and I would definitely come back. Great atmosphere, friendly service, and delicious food. Looking forward to our next visit!

What I didn't like was how my boyfriend was treated and how long it took to get my mango lassi and the papadum appetizer and the rest of the vegetarian combo meal we ordered. We waited around 25 min and finally flagged down the server to ask about the mango lassi and the food. The table behind us that arrived some time after we did were given their papadum starter, drinks, and food before we were. What was more, another server came with our food and joked our kufta dish has chicken in it. Then he said he's kidding. This was not funny. I am, after all, vegetarian. The kuftas were too thick and hard to eat with naan. I did like the garlic basic naan. The rotis were too tough. We took the leftovers but neither of us actually wanted the food. I discarded all of it. This is most unlike us as we hate wasting food but the whole experience and food itself left a bad taste in my mouth. We came here very hungry after a long day. We browsed for restaurants open after 10pm on Sunday and finally came across this place. My boyfriend had come to visit me in Santa Clarita Valley from Downtown LA. He said he tried Clay Pit in Los Angeles and it was good. So we decided to come here and I drove us. In the end, we were met with a relatively unpleasant experience and mediocre food. We will not return here.

Even though I ordered the three item combo, I ended up just buying another fourth item because I liked it so much. The service is really nice and they gave great recs. All of the curries are unique. Everything is already freshly made when you arrive so it's grab and go. They do have seating and a wide range of drinks. Chicken tikka masala reminds me of tomato basil soup but with a bunch of different spices and chicken added to it and it's comforting because you can eat it with their fragrant rice! And It was the sweetest of the four options but I personally like sweet and savory so this was up there for me. The butter chicken was more savory and garlicky. The palak paneer was my favorite, I'd order that again for sure. The cheese melts in your mouth bc it's so soft. They blend the spinach completely which I really like not to have to chew my spinach. It's very creamy and rich! I wonder if they use coconut milk? The goat curry bone in was the spiciest and most savory of the four options but was a pleasant heat that comes later. They gave good portions of meat and honestly so worth it! The two or three item combos come with naan! They share a parking lot with other businesses in the small plaza. I highly recommend coming here for Indian food. I'm coming back for sure!

Although Raffi's in Glendale is usually my go-to spot, I met a friend here for lunch and it was a nice change of scenery. Not only did I love the idea of having an outdoor patio almost to ourselves, but the inside is really cute with its retro mint accents, old school chairs, and wooden tabletops. I also loved looking at the Old World Hollywood black & white photos up on the walls. The only conundrum is finding a seat inside since this place fills up quickly during the lunch rush hours. Also, some folks just park it so they can work on their laptops while sipping on coffee -- not that I can blame 'em. Their Mediterranean, Lebanese-inspired cuisine, and fusion-inspired grill fare is delicious and the portion sizes are ample. Juicy tomatoes and slightly charred zucchini and summer squash sat vibrantly on my plate. Their savory chicken breast kabobs are made with authentic spices, but more on the lean, dry side. So I prefer their falafels, dolmas, and grilled veggies on my plate. SOTTA touts their Tomato Soup as "the best in town". Not sure I'd agree. My bowl was piping hot, but a bit on the bland side. I'd personally opt for another salad if given a choice: Their babaganoush is creamy, Greek salad is crisp, while the Shirazi Salad and Quinoa Tabbouleh won't disappoint. I'll have to try the Sautéed Mushrooms next time because the red wine, teriyaki, and garlic marinade piqued my interest. As for their drink menu, the coffee is excellent. Or try a 20 oz. matcha that's infused with passion fruit or guava. It's worth the splurge. Although Skaf's in Highland Park is still my fave Lebanese restaurant, I'll still make my way over to SOTTA next time on this side of the hill. It's still continents closer than the Adriatic Sea.

I ordered chicken breast, and the portions were surprisingly inconsistent. One piece was a reasonable size, while the other was significantly smaller and did not feel like a proper portion. The biggest disappointment was the Caesar salad with salmon. It came with only two very small pieces of salmon--approximately 1.5 ounces total. Honestly, even my cat would have been disappointed with that portion! It genuinely looked like they were down to their last small piece of salmon and divided it between the salad. As someone who is Persian and grew up eating this type of food regularly, I'm very familiar with the flavors, quality, and portions I would expect. Unfortunately, the food this time was well below average, both in taste and value. I would rate the taste about 2/10. It's especially disappointing because I previously enjoyed ordering from Sorta and appreciated having a convenient neighborhood option so close to home. But after two disappointing experiences in a row, I can't justify the price for the portions and quality I received. Sadly, I don't see myself returning. It's very sad that u spend 77$ for lunch for two and not be satisfied
