I had an okay experience at Bollywood Cafe. The portions were generous and the naan was very good, but overall the food was pretty subpar. The atmosphere also felt off -- there was basically no vibe, and the staff all seemed unhappy to be there. Unfortunately, I got sick about an hour after eating there, which really ruined the experience for me. I honestly believe some of the food may not have been handled properly. I haven't gotten sick from a restaurant in nearly two decades, so this was especially disappointing. I definitely won't be returning. read more

Such a hidden gem! When u first walk into the restaurant you can feel the Indian culture, nicely decorated and feels cozy. This place id highly recommend if you're trying Indian cuisine for the first time. Food was affordable and delicious. I'm obsessed with mozzarella naan, mango lassi makes me wanna go back again and again. Service was excellent! read more

Honestly, this was the worst chicken tikka masala I've ever had. The chicken cubes were so dry, even in the sauce. I was so sad. Unfortunately, I have to find another Indian spot. The search continues! read more

Food was amazingly delicious! The service was exceptional and we even got a rice pudding on the house! So delicious! My son's first time eating at Bollywood Cafe! He enjoyed every dish. Being diabetic can be difficult to find a place, vegan and diabetic friendly dishes. The ambiance was perfect! Nice music playing softly in the background. Truly a nice dinner night! read more

The food was really good, and the ambiance was nice and welcoming. The service was great, and our food came out pretty quickly. Everything was fresh and delicious, and by the time we finished eating, we were so full we felt like we were in a food coma. I would definitely recommend this place and would happily come back again. read more

Delicious food for vegans and non vegans. Excellent service. Highly recommended. Support your local, family owned restaurants!

I haven't had Indian food for quite some time, so I suggested to my husband to go out for dinner. We found this place on Yelp. When we got there it was quite empty except for one table with a couple, there were no other customers. But that was fine with us. We were greeted by a nice gentleman and shown a table where we could sit. The place is small but very clean, and on the chic side. The food, all I can say and I also can speak for my husband, was fantastic!!! My spouse had shrimp biryani and I had lamb tika masala. The lamb pieceswere soyender and the sauce was ti die for. And we also had some regular naan. All in all I must say, their kitchen staff ( cooks) do an incredible job and the gentleman who took our order and brought us our food and the other gentleman who took our check, both were extremely polite, professional, kind and gave us the feeling we were welcomed guests. Thank you. This place is worth a try out. read more

My favorite Indian restaurant in the area for over 15 years. This place is high quality and have been going back time after time and the food is always delicious and the service super friendly and welcoming. Go to is CTM but they have all the classics and more authentic dishes you'll find around. read more

Horrible service I came in today and the owner was so rude I come in all the time and today he said we close at 3 which is valid but I went in at 2:40? I said no problem I won't ever come here again to tell a customer that "IM BUGGING" like excuse me ???????? Yeah zero stars! read more

I got the butter chicken with rice and garlic Nan bread and it was so good! Way better than "Flavor of India" in my opinion. Better sauce, better rice and better garlic Nan. I'd recommend this place a billion times over and it's a lot more affordable and they have great lunch specials! Giving them 4 stars cause I asked for medium spice level so I was hoping for a little kick but it was still pretty sweet. Next time I'll ask for spicy! read more

The food was so flavorful and the staff were very friendly. They seemed very busy with take out orders, which is always a good sign. I highly recommend this Indian restaurant if you're in the studio city area read more

I made reservations for our party of 10 after going to the theatre on a Saturday afternoon. The venue was in downtown LA and surprisingly there weren't a lot of suitable options for our group and the time of day but this option in Studio City came up. The restaurant was accommodating to our large group and kindly agreed to divide our checks for our needs. We all ordered different dishes and added the $8 dinner option to include the soup/salad, naan, rice and dessert. The food was superb! I got the Lamb Rogan Josh and my daughter got the Chicken Jalfrezzi, which we both enjoyed immensely. The restaurant is small, but cozy and feels pretty authentic with a clean, formal atmosphere. I would definitely come back again. read more

I got the chicken tikka and chicken masala. I also tried the bread and their chickpea dish super yummy i've gone back a couple times already. I definitely recommend. read more

Talk about the best food you have the right to find in all of Los Angeles! Who knew you'd find it in Studio City? This is by far the tastiest, friendliest, most enjoyable recognized restaurant in Los Angeles for the best Indian food. You won't regret your ordering experience, either dining in like we'd love to do, or simply taking it out to go. My ultimate favorite is the chicken vindaloo, I used to order it all white meat, until they told me no, order it normal, most of the chicken is white meat, but they overnight it in and have it simmering and sauces and absorbing all the flavor. The food here is outrageously delicious read more

The food was excellent, everything was bursting with flavor! We ordered the coconut curry chicken and lamb biryani rice, we enjoyed every single bite! The service was 10/10! So very friendly and attentive, it made for a wonderful dining experience! Ambience was nice and intimate. read more

Loved this place. The service was wonderful, the food was great, and the prices were very fair. Will absolutely go back!

I ordered lunch from a delivery service. It arrived early (and hot!) which was great! I had the vegetable korma...delicious and plentiful. The paratha was good, however I tasted margarine, not butter as described. The rice pudding dessert is delicious, even if pricey. I would order here again, just a different naan. All in all, very good Indian food. read more

Very good food- good prices and great service - We only tried Vegetarian menu - must try Saag Paneer and Butter Roti - well cooked and well blended spices read more

So, maybe not the best place for us gluten free folk - - they couldn't guarantee that the papadam was gluten free and the pakoras definitely aren't. But they could point out the dairy free section of the menu, so that's something. Overall, they have a nice sized menu, a comfortable dining area, and service was quick and efficient. Most importantly, the food was delicious. read more

I order Indian food at least once a week lol. I have been to just about every Indian restaurant along Ventura Blvd and while most of them are good and have great service, I've been really impressed by the flavor at Bollywood. I live in the area and this is one of the only restaurants that have not sneakily decreased their sizes. The portions are a good value for the price. Arguably the best raita in the area and my order is always correct. I'd definitely suggest giving them a try! read more

My favorite things I ordered here were the naan and saag paneer. The tandoori chicken fell flat for me. I would not order again. Service is attentive and the restaurant itself has a very intimate ambience inside. read more

Best Indian food in the valley! I've been going here since they opened and often brought Disney Studio executives here for lunch and dinner. They liked it so well they had them cater studio events! read more

I believe they have fake reviews on this site. We ordered the dinner for 2 and it cost $70. The food was old and not freshly cooked. The meat was all dried out and clearly cooked earlier that day and left under a hot lamp. The fried foods that came with it - samosa and fried onion ball were tasteless and also old. The sag paneer was fine, but how do you mess that up? And the rest of the dinner is two large containers of rice and two full orders of naan. All this was was extremely dried out meat and a couple of fried fillers and lots of rice and naan. Extremely disappointed and will never return here. It was a huge rip off. read more

Never disappoints. We have been ordering from this place for over 10 years and every single time- amazing. Incredible portions, vegetarian options, and the best service. Could not recommend more!!!! read more

First time here and I enjoyed my lunch experience. Food was delicious and they have legit naan bread and REAL mint chutney (not the watered down liquid other restaurants try to pass as chutney). Good service and cozy atmosphere. I will be back again! read more

Cozy homey vibes, amazing service, attentive and polite waiter. The food was delicious! With a party of three we ordered lots of comforting options-such as butter chicken, tikka masala, paneer, garlic naan, veggie samosas, and a big plate of rice! Would return! read more

We had a great meal with a wide range of dishes, from appetizers to mains, from meat to veggie. Everything was delicious, the service was excellent, and the environment warm and elegant. Love the chicken tika masala and garlic naan ! The chicken is chicken breast and it is so flavorful! If you ask for it spicy they do listen and it will be spicy! Love this place and it is a favorite in the neighborhood for me! read more

Tonight we visited Bollywood Café, an Indian restaurant in Studio City. We arrived around 8:30 PM on a Friday night and were surprised to see only one other couple dining. By the time we left at 9:45, the place had filled up to about 50% capacity -- roughly a dozen guests. The location is decent, right on Ventura Boulevard, with plenty of street parking available. From the outside, the restaurant doesn't look particularly inviting -- honestly, it resembles a bit of a dive -- but inside, it's cozy. Small, slightly outdated, but clean and pleasant enough. There's a small bar area, though it wasn't clear whether they serve alcohol or just non-alcoholic beverages. We brought our own bottle of Meiomi wine and the server kindly brought us two glasses. Not quite wine glasses -- more like slightly smaller versions of the water goblets already on the table -- but it worked. I don't think they charged us a corkage fee, which was a pleasant surprise -- though to be fair, it was a twist-off cap and I handled all the pouring myself. The server was friendly and attentive. We knew what we wanted and ordered right away. The menu is extensive, with a few non-Indian items like salads and soups to appeal to broader tastes, but about 90% of the offerings are Indian-influenced. I believe the owners are Bangladeshi, but the flavors are quite similar to Northern Indian cuisine. We ordered three vegetarian dishes along with papadum and rice: Bhindi (okra) Saag Paneer (spinach and cheese) Yellow dal (lentils) One of my pet peeves is when food arrives lukewarm -- not here! Everything came out piping hot, which I really appreciated. The seasoning was spot-on. We asked for extra spicy and received a toned-down, American-style version of spicy, but it was still flavorful and enjoyable. Prices are reasonable, and the food and service were solid overall. A couple of minor critiques: The okra had some fibrous pieces that were tough and inedible -- they should trim the larger, mature okra more carefully. The papadum was crisp and tasty but a bit too salty, and I would've loved more caraway seeds sprinkled on top. Whether it was the salty papadums, the wine, the spice, or some stealthy sodium hiding in the food, I spent the next two hours guzzling half a gallon of chilled water like I'd crossed the desert . The food was excellent. It came out freshly cooked and piping hot. We asked for mild and we were able to enjoy the various spices on the dishes. The sauces we put on the samosa just elevated the potatoes inside. Even the naan was lightly crunchy and yet soft and full of flavor. We will be returning! read more

Good food. Good service! Clean. Not noisy. Enjoyed a spicy lunch of curry, Dahl, and tandoori chicken with my son. Will go back again.

The place has good ambience, but for take out it needs major improvement. The prices on their website are at least 15% lower than what they charge. They need to update it. They still pack hot takeout in regular plastic containers. That is a no-no according to all latest data. read more

Nice clean restaurant. Good food. I got vegetable bryani, which was really tasty it had a really good texture to it. Vegetable masala was very good and spicy and cream. Malai kofta was creamy, and the Kosta was made with vegetables, which made it so soft. Eggplant bharta was seasoned just right, nothing too strong or overpowering. Onion pakora was like 2 big balls it didn't have a lot of flavor. Vegetable samosa was nice seasoned just enough. Of course, the garlic naan is my favorite Indian bread to eat with my food. It's a small, cozy restaurant with dim lighting read more
