Came here for lunch once and had the puerco asado. I have not stopped thinking about it since. The pork tasted soooo good and all the accompaniments. I didn't really notice the service much because I was too engrossed in conversation, but they seemed to have refilled our drinks enough. Didn't notice anything bad. Best Cubano sandwich i've had, ever. I'm not Cuban but I've had many in South Florida as well as Paseo's here in Seattle. This place is the best. Plus only $8.50 for the sandwich AND fries (which comes with a really delicious cilantro sour cream. I only give it 4 stars rather than 5 due to service. The people were friendly but it taking 25 minutes to get out a sandwich and fries at lunch time is really long. I came here for lunch today. I never heard of it before today. The place was definitely clean. There's big banquet/hall with a very nice hall in the back of the restaurant. I ended up ordering the Pan Con Pollo. It was absolutely delicious. The food took so long we had to get it to go since we were on lunch. The sauteed chicken was very tender, juicy and seasoned well. The caramelized sweet onion were actually caramelized and were very good. A lot of restaurants claim that some food has caramelized onions when they're really sauteed. The garlic sauce complimented the sandwich very well. All in all I was full, satisfied and surprised I enjoyed my experience to the extent that I did. read more

I went here on a weekday after the lunch rush, pleasantly surprised to find only a few tables occupied. *Perfect timing on my part* The waitress promptly let me know that all they had was sandwiches. There it was---sitting in its flattened state with roasted pork,ham,swiss cheese, pickles, and mustard-- GOODNESS! The flattened bread was perfect, it had that crunch when you bit into it. The roast pork, ham was perfectly cooked with the creamyness of the swiss cheese and the pickles and mustard to add extra flavor to the meats and cheese. Just heavenly. Oh, you get a side of fries too with some garlic aioli sauce to go with it. The garlic sauce was pretty good too. Makes me salivate just writing this review. I would have to say this was one of my top 3 Cuban sandwiches I've eaten. I've had sandwiches in NYC, Orlando, and now Seattle. Since the truck on Auroa closed down I have been at a loss without a good Cuban place in Seattle. I have to fly all the way home to Tampa to get good Cuban food. When I heard this place opened up, I could hardly wait. I had my husband swing by after getting back from the airport. I am really picky when it comes to Cuban food, mi Abuelita spolied me. I have tried Paseo's and it is OK, but not the best in my opinion. My husband and I both thought it was great! He commented the Empenadas are better than a company back home who only makes Empenadas. I had the Ropa Vieja and it was awesome! Also had the Moros y Christianos and they were awesome as well. My husband also had the Cuban Sandwich......drum roll please.....It is made with actual Cuban bread....Not French, not Chiabatta or any other crazy things I have seen around here to make themselves "like" a Cuban Sandwich. This is Authentic Cuban Food and I am so glad it's around. I look forward to many more visits. My only wish is to expand the menu. I lived in Key West, FL for many years and often crave Cuban Food. This place is a good substitute! Their Mojitos are the best! They don't skimp on the alcohol and use plenty of mint. I am a big believer in great service and I came here to eat today, and the service was horrible as I waited to be seated I saw 2 empty tables and as I write this I'm still waiting to be seated. The 5 top that was seated before I got here just got menus as the server asked "did you get menus?" 10 minutes later. I just was told that they have a table clear for me which has been clean and cleared from my clock for 8 minutes. And was told it's by the window second from the back. Lol the service is a Joke. After talking to 2 servers already the Bar tender came an took my order as he did that he sat in the chair across from me. I must admit that the place was busy when I came in but I looked at every single table and they all had food and drinks and most of them seemed to be finished and waiting on a Check. I don't think I would recommend this place based on service alone. The cafe con leche Is amazing. The pan con bistec Is ok. Their empanadas were not warm nor were they tasty. They came with a nasty soy bean oil dipping sauce that was bad. They should make it with olive oil. The yuca fries were not hot. They were obviously microwaved. You can't microwaved fried food and get away with it. The waitress were not aware of our water and the place was not busy. The red head waitress was very nice. They other ones needed some guidance. The kitchen was slow and messed up our order. Felt I had to post to counter all the negative reviews. I had the slow roasted pork sandwich with fries and Limeade. The sandwich was excellent! Was it authentic? I don't know, never been to Cuba or Miami. But I don't see how that matters much if it was enjoyable. It was quiet for a Friday lunch but it was pouring out in Seattle so it might have been keeping people away. Staff was friendly and competent so nothing bad there. My pork was very flavorful, fries were perfect and the dipping sauce for the fries a great addition. The Limeade tasted fresh and was not overly sweet. read more
