Oh how lovely! Cute little bright cafe by SLU. They bake cute little financiers and scones that are very delicious. I ordered few financiers with cappuccino and they had every customer at cafe try freshly baked scones when they came out from oven and it was soooo good!! While I'm on my diet, cute little bite-sized financiers make me feel less guilty to take these cute cube financiers. I tried every flavor and my favorite was the one with berry. Their spanish latte is also a must! I didn't get to try their sandwiches but the avocado salad was very yummy, too. I actually topped it over a fresh veggie and it adds a citrusy flavor and perfectly served as a dressing alternative. Recommend trying the avocado salad as well! read more

I love coming here when I need to take a break from work & also get some fresh air. Upon entering, you will immediately notice how welcoming their staff is. Everyone is so nice even when they're crazy busy both taking orders & pushing out drinks that will pump some life back into us as we set out to conquer that day's tasks. I have a bad habit of not trying anything else on the menu because I am too attached to the one thing I ordered the first time I visited. In this case it would be the Spanish latte. I make sure to order it half sweet because I'm not a fan of super sweet drinks and this gives it just enough of a kick to complement the cinnamon well. You can never go wrong with it. read more

Very cute shop, bright and open. I had two financiers. The plain one and the yuzu one. Solid basic (did I mention I am French? ;) a tad greasy, but, good mark for Seattle. The yuzu flavored one was very good too, although yuzu almond was not my favorite combination ever. I will go back to taste the chocolate and the vanilla one. I also had the blueberry scone, which was a good basic. I would like to sit and taste their coffee too next time, hang on for an update! read more

Wow easily made it onto my list of fave coffee spots. I baby sit my coffee like I do my alcohol so I never manage to finish an 8 oz. But their drinks here are amazing! I was halfway through a 12 oz cold brew just from a 1 block walk. No I don't walk that slow it's just that good. I've tried their einspanner which is espresso + housemade cream. Delicious. I'm not a hot coffee drinker so the fact I've gotten this more than once says something. They have a cold version of this called the cloud cold brew. It's too sweet for me so I just opt for their regular cold brew. Their coffee is so smooth. No strong bitter flavors or acidity. Ok now onto the food. I've had the financier which is just fine for me. It's like a pound cake. I typically just get the sausage egg and cheese sandwich. I love how puffy the bun is and the sausage doesn't taste processed or overly greasy. Good ratio. The people here are also super friendly and try to remember your order and name. Best financiers I've ever eaten - period. The baristas are very sweet and knowledgeable. I went in on a Friday afternoon - the wait was minimal and I got the Spanish latte on recommendation from one of the baristas. It was a little too sweet for my own taste (that condensed milk is intense) but the cinnamon was a great touch. I also got the bulgogi toast which was excellent! The honey financiers were to die for. The women that run this cafe are magic. I come in with a group of dirty, cursing construction workers, and they know every one of us by name and drink order. Their breakfast sandwiches are literally one of the best things in the neighborhood. Brioche, meat, eggs and cheese for $5. And they heat it up for you. Usually, about 5 minutes from walking in the door, I have a nice espresso and a hot sandwich, and I'm back on my way--which is important when you only get a 15 minute break. BTW, one of my coworkers told me that he happened to show up there right as they opened and had one of the scones when they first came out of the oven. He said it was so good that he thought he had died. When I "forget" to pack my lunch, this place is also my go-to spot. They have delicious, fresh sandwiches that they heat up again for you in the oven, and a couple salads to choose from. In a neighborhood that is literally a wasteland of overpriced garbage sold off the back of a truck--when I walked in and realized that I could eat healthy and fast for less than $10--i kinda decided to "forget" more often. read more

Adorable, friendly, and quiet. The drinks aren't too sweet, the sandwiches aren't too salty, and you can tell everything here is made with love. My bacon breakfast sandwich was piping hot, but the added avocado was still cold. The pastries were all delicious. My matcha latte even had a cute heart on it! I like their lattes and financiers but pretty disappointed with their servers and overall experience. They will do everything by the book - they are probably told that dine-in is only for people who order food/coffee, so they will not let you sit down even for a minute, even if you are holding/looking at a menu (or even if their cafe is pretty much empty). Also, on an occasion they didn't let our EA use the restroom even though she orders 10 cups of coffee for our team everyday. They are pretty unpleasant to deal with and approach people inappropriately. I personally like going to Elm roasters next door. The owner of this place is pretty arrogant too! read more

Yummy little micro cakes with hot coffee! Oh, I love it. Some of them are a little sweet for my taste, but I can always find one I really like. Their sandwiches are simple and fresh, and their service is always friendly and quick. I work nearby so it's easy to pop in and out. I've never actually stayed to eat, but the space is well laid out and has huge floor to ceiling glass walls which make people watching a breeze. I'd say this place is a little hidden gem in South Lake Union but by the line and packed cafe, it isn't. As you walk in, you are immediately greeted with a warm welcome and smile by the staff. I had the financiers and they were absolutely amazing. Who knew those little suckers are so full of flavor. Great place to get some work done (ie fast WiFi) and great natural lighting. The owner (Claire) is an absolute sweetheart and makes everything with love. Definitely coming back again! If I get fat, you'll know why! read more

Here in SLU, we looove to complain about how expensive the coffee shops are... almost as much as we love going to said coffee shops! Cafe An'Clair is one of my favorites in the neighborhood for when I want a little sweet treat, not as much for coffee. The cafe has a really pleasant environment. It's bright white with lots of light and feels clean and modern. Seating is limited and the chairs aren't super comfortable, though, so I usually take my stuff to go. The friendly owners always greet you when you walk in, and there's usually a plate of samples on the counter for you to try. They have a smallish menu of tea and coffee drinks, a rotating assortment of cookies and cakes, and breakfast ($5) and lunch ($9) sandwiches. I like the financiers, which are very popular and seem to be their signature item. Usually you picture a financier as being flat and sort of madeleine-like, but theirs are tall, golden cubes with a puffy top. They are highly Instagrammable and delicious, but my favorite is the yuzu. At $1.50 each, it's easy to get an assortment and try them all. I'd heard a lot about their Spanish latte, so I finally tried one, but I wasn't that impressed. The condensed milk and cinnamon made it VERY sweet for my taste, and there was a weird layer of sludgey flakes at the bottom when I finished. (Maybe it was cinnamon bark? Mine didn't have a stick of cinnamon, as some of the pictures show.) A small 8-oz. size is $4, so it's kind of pricey for a drink I didn't love. Wouldn't get it again. Overall, this is a friendly and welcoming family-run place for dainty desserts, and a nice spot to meet up in SLU for a coffee date or a meeting. And don't forget to try the financiers! read more

This is a good stop for some quick breakfast snacks and coffee. It wasn't anything too special besides the little squares bread that they had. No one greeted us when we walked in and we finally got someone's attention, they were trying to rush us to get to the cashier. Like geez, give me a second to look around and give you an answer! We got an oat milk latte, a breakfast sandwich and those little square things. We would def say 3/5 for everything. Nothing to exciting to report. But if you're need of a quick and clean spot to stop by, this will suffice. There are other coffee places to try and only if you're in the neighborhood, don't bother going out of your way for this place. read more

So so happy to have this place right next to my office! They just opened up around two weeks ago, but have already become my (and my coworkers') go-to spot for coffee/a quick bite to eat. Some of my favs so far: - Spanish latte w/ almond milk: AMAZING -- the perfect amount of creaminess and they also add a stick of cinnamon which gives the coffee a really deep, fragrant flavor. (5/5) - Honey financiers (basically mini pound cakes/madelines but better!): the perfect two-bite treat to go with your coffee! The other flavors are delicious as well but I love how simple the honey one is (5/5) - Turkey Sandwich: WOW didn't know a turkey sandwich could be so good?! The sauce in this sandwich really marries all the ingredients together, and the sundried tomatoes add a nice zesty kick Will be sure to update my review as I try more of their menu! Also, the two sisters who run this place are the absolute sweetest and always put a smile on my face :) You can tell they put so much love into their food and providing the best customer service. The ambiance here is also freakin' adorable -- they have a white and rose gold aesthetic going on that makes the cafe feel really bright and warm. read more

I shared it with my coworkers because honestly, if I didn't, probably would of kept eating them. I would say the bacon maple was probably my favorite. Fortunately this cafe is VERY close to where I work! Beautiful pastries and delicious breakfast sandwiches that were too tempting to pass up! I ended up going with a basic egg & cheese sandwich for $5. The bread was sponge-like - but in a GOOD way - and fulfilled the intense breakfast craving I had that day. Cafe An'Clair is waiting distance from many excellent coffee shops but this owns has become an instant favorite. Their signatures like the Spanish Latte and Einspanner are a welcomed change of pace to my daily coffee ritual. The Einspanner, in particular, is a delight. They top an Americano with a thick and rich cream, ans the combo gives you that satisfying coffee kick of pure espresso mixed with water, while balancing with a thick, sweet cream that's more like a dessert. Their food options are good too, and their scones are delicious. The guy before me during one of my visits ordered 2 and a sandwich in one go, a good sign that even the regulars can't stop themselves. read more

I've recently discover the Spanish latte from Cafe An'Clair and I'm in love with it! I'm able to customize it and get 50% less sweet for this drink. I've tried it originally with full sweetness and it was a bit overwhelming for me. The breakfast sandwiches here are amazing, they make it fresh to order. I've tried the brownie financier and wasn't a huge fan on it. I'm definitely going to go back to try other pastries they have. The staff is always welcoming and super nice here. It's one of my favorite in the area and price is comparable to other coffee shops around SLU area. read more

Cafe An'Clair has a modern but sophisticated interior, good coffee, welcoming employees, and a great food/pastry selection. I got an Americano which was quite good. Nothing much to be said there, I would get it again. The cafe itself is owned by two wonderful women whom the cafe name is derived from, and they are very respectful and friendly which I really liked. All their employees have a smile on their face as they engage with customers :) And with the interior, as other reviews have mentioned, it has large windows and the ceiling goes very high, so great natural light comes in and it has a very nice open feel (even though the cafe itself is on the smaller side). They have cute rose gold details around the cafe with marble tables, so it's very "aesthetic" and Instagrammable if you're into that. I didn't get to try their foods, but I was around during lunch time and a lot of people seemed to get their bulgogi sandwich. It's Korean marinated meat served on bread w/ cheese and other things from what I could see. But they had a lot of options besides that, so it would be a great place to stop by for a snack or a meal during work breaks. The only little downside is that the seating is a little bit uncomfortable. My back started hurting after a while. But I also do have back issues, so it might not be noticeable for most. All in all, lovely cafe, lovely staff, good coffee :) what more could you ask for? read more

Bulgogi was nice and succulent, not dry, wife's turkey sandwich was also really good. Prices are a bit higher ($10 for each sandwich), but what do you expect in Amazon-land? read more
