Everything is good. I've tried just about everything on the menu. My favorite are the ribs.

This place is an a odd part of town in the middle of nowhere. The funny part is, when we pulled in I though we were walking into a feed store. But nope, off to the side you will find this place. It's a little window so NO dine in option. However, they have out door seating. Stopped in for breakfast and was pleasantly suprised. Biscuits and gravey were spot on and good. My breakfast sandwich was also great. A little prices but the hot food is really good so I'm not complaining what so ever. read more

Having read so many good reviews, we gave this place a try. First of all, if you want to be assured of a parking space, get there early because it fills up fast! But, even with a full parking lot, we found plenty of seating yet available inside. Our meals were awesome! We tried both the pulled pork and brisket platters. The portions are generous, so arrive hungry. In spite of our best effort, we had plenty of leftovers to take home and enjoy again. We live in Tradition, so Cafe 66 isn't exactly right around the corner, and there are several good restaurants within a 5 or 10 minute drive, yet we will definitely get back to Cafe 66.....well worth the drive! read more

Cafe 66-Vero Beach- 4-Stars "Would you get hip to this kindly tip and take that California trip? Get your kicks on Route 66." -- Chuck Berry When Cafe 66 popped up on my portable eatery fount, my first thought was, "I didn't realize Route 66 went through Vero Beach, FL." Don't bother to check with Google, I can assure you that it does not; therefore, this must be another road trip themed restaurant. "Maybe they'll at least have a good burger," was my final thought on the matter as I hit US1 and pointed the BBDO machine south. Pulling off of the highway and onto Route 606 (Oslo Rd) I headed due West. As I left the coastal area, I couldn't help but feel I was perhaps in the middle of the country as there was nothing but flat pasture land and cows for miles on either side. Did you know that Florida is one of the top 20 beef producing states in the nation coming in at #18? The more you know. As I entered the parking lot for the Cafe (which is attached to a feed store), I did sorta feel like I was on old Route 66 cruisin' from The Windy City to Tinsel Town and stopped somewhere in Missouri for chow. Stepping up to the counter, I realized that other than a few outdoor tables and benches, this place had no inside seating options. Walk up, place your order, grab a bench and wait seemed to be the way to go here. I stepped up to the counter, grabbed a menu and began to dissect it with my eyes. If the fare tasted half as good as it looked on the menu, I was in for a special treat. The creativity took the standard burger to a whole new level, which is hard to do these days with burger joints on almost every corner. I put in an order for one TKO Burger and one Cowboss Brisket Sandwich, a large unsweetened ice tea with sides of fries and coleslaw, respectively. Given the crowd present, the wait for my food was negligible, grabbing the to go containers, I headed out to a bench and plopped my butt down to commence reveiwn'. After one bite of the TKO Burger I knew I was in Beefy Paradise. The ground beef was obviously prime, obviously hand formed, grilled to a perfect medium rare, the bun was toasted and the bacon was, well, bacon. It tasted farm fresh and like the burger was cooked to the absolute perfect degree of doneness. The blue cheese was fresh, delicious and complimented the burger like a Chevy Small Block 283 complimented the '61 Vette. Topped with thick slices of fresh cut tomato, dill pickle angle cut burger chips and fresh onion it was a burger fit for a Highway King. Eyeing the Cowboss Brisket sammich, I could only hope it measured up to the standard set by the TKO Burger. From the bottom up, the bread could be grilled and a tad fresher or perhaps from a different vendor as it did not clear the bar set by the Burger, in fact, it didn't even come close to taking a facial on said bar. However, this fact soon became moot as the meat was again, Beefy Paradise. The Brisket was obviously smokin' for hours in the back as it basically melted in my mouth with so much slow-roasted barbeque goodness. In other words, this meat was the bomb! The sauce was also obviously made on site and not from a bottle or can as it tasted freshly made and complex in its union of flavors. This was now in my top 10 of favorite BBQ sauces. Moving on to the true test of good Southern BBQ, oh who am I kidding, it's all a true test, anyway, on to the coleslaw. The slaw was hand cut, hand shredded, hand made and mixed with an obviously made on site sauce which made this some out of this world slaw! It felt like my palate had hit the Jackpot with this version of the Southern staple. My, my, my but that sauce was tasty, complex, sweet and had a slight bite to the finish. Hark! All ye restauranteurs, THIS is real coleslaw. I would feel remiss if I at least didn't give the tea a passing note. It was brewed fresh on site and like everything else, sans the Brisket bread was the real deal. This place has success written all over it and I sincerely hope they are in business for decades to come. Wonderful food- best barbecue in town. Ample servings- my mom and I are able to share a plate, but I buy 2 so as to enjoy the next day. The Cole slaw is the best I have tasted. Pulled pork and brisket in sandwiches and quesadillas are heavenly! Service is always cheerful, pleasant and fast, and I often take away. Dining is only outside, and when I have the time, I do that, so as to enjoy the pastoral countryside, which is rare, knowing that we are quickly becoming more urban. I get the beef, y partner the steak. Can't beet the price, two tacos is enough, three if you want a big lunch. Get there before 1230 as they selll out!!! Burgers OMG giant and fresh, The bacon burger has 5-6 strips of fresh cooked bacon! In the mood for salad, the buffalo chicken is packed with chicken and cheese. Hardly light! Feeling like a Cuban. Hope you have someone to share with!! Cuban is delicious with layers of flavors. A Cuban is maybe 24", enough for two!!! Truly special is BBQ!!! Usually but not always on Thursday, omg wow. First timers today and I was sad to say it was just average. What really turned us off the food runner who brought us our food, she stuck her thumb inside our appetizer while she was delivering it; all while her thumb is in our food. 2 out of the 3 plates we ordered, she brought out, her thumbs were touching our food. She was not wearing gloves and we watched her wipe her thumb off on her shirt as she was walking away. She obviously was aware of doing it. I get that the plates can be hot, but there is safer ways to delivering plates, like using different carrying positions, utilizing a serving tray or more importantly you could have the runners use gloves to avoid the spread of contamination or germs especially during a pandemic. Nobody wants someone else's fingers in the meal they are about to eat. Hopefully this issue will be corrected! read more

Great find!! Stopped for breakfast before grocery shopping. The portions are huge. Food was fresh and delicious. Staff were friendly. Place was clean. I had the breakfast burrito with chorizo. The burrito was very large. I also had the half order of sausage gravy and biscuit. You can taste that it was made there. My family and I are hear for Baseball Factory; I looked on Yelp to see some nice restaurants in the area with reasonable prices. I looked at the pictures before and we decided to eat at Cafe 66 and they did not disappoint; we had the garbage can fries (don't let the name fool you) we opted to get the brisket on the fries and it was a very good choice. The brisket was smoked and it melts in your mouth (and that's without bbq sauce). I ordered the Gringo Burrito, let's just say I couldn't even finish it. Ordered approximately $45 worth of food for take out when I arrived they were having internet issues with the credit card system not working. I did not have cash and after about ten minutes of waiting for the system to come back the owner said we could have the order for free. Fantastic BBQ, hamburger, fish fry and prime rib restaurant! We found this restaurant through Yelp and we were not disappointed ( we never are using Yelp). Food is generous portions for the BBQ platter (5 meats to choose from). And when you think you cannot eat another bite.. boom, you see the homemade pies! I had a wonderful breakfast at Cafe 66. The service was excellent and the food came out quickly and was very good. The decor is kitschy but it works here. On the weekday I visited the place was crowded but our friendly server was not the least bit overwhelmed or fazed. Seemed like they were used to dealing with a crowd and knew how to graciously handle it which has not been my experience since the pandemic began.
