OOOO MAN . now this place is a hidden gem, the corner diner says it all but it needs to be on the main street! i've seen a review say the "food takes long" but let me just say one thing it is truly worth the wait, everything comes out freshly baked and never cold even if it take awhile. i've never had one meal where I didn't enjoy the food I was eating. just think about what the cook is going through during those times and it STILLL comes out AMAZING. do I recommend? ABSOLUTELY! over and over again. will try to get pics of the food next time I go but do yourself a favor and go! great staff too

Food was great, but when my son asked for extra napkins, the sever belittled him by "explaining" that's what wrapped around the flatware. Yes, thank you for the lesson in table etiquette. However, when you are dining with two children, we almost always need extras. While eating there were a few patrons who were coming through the front door and the door sticks pretty badly. So bad, it feels as though it's locked. Instead of just waking 10 feet and opening the door, the server just yelled "pull it open!" She never once offered to let them in. When we were done and paying, the register receipt prints with with tip area already completed with $0.00. So I asked the server how I needed to do the tip. She proceeded to roll her eyes and say, quite condescendingly, "you, uh write it in!" Yes, that works when there's a blank, but I've never had a receipt already say $0.00. Honestly, I should have left nothing for the attitude alone. I really want to like this place since it's a locally owned establishment, but until the server loses the attitude, we won't be back.

This is a cozy spot with friendly staff and plenty of quirky "farm fresh" themed artwork adorning the walls, giving it a welcoming and fun vibe. The menu is impressively extensive, and I even spotted a Bacon Bloody Mary that I made a mental note to come back and try. My wife chose the Tater Tot Breakfast Bowl, which was hearty and satisfying. It included crispy, delicious Tater Tots (of course), topped with bits of country ham, scrambled eggs, and a generous layer of melted cheese. I went with the Southern Benny, a creative twist on classic eggs Benedict. This version features two sausage patties atop biscuit halves, each topped with a perfectly poached egg and smothered in sausage gravy. I also opted for grits as my side, as I consider myself something of a grits connoisseur and often use them as a benchmark for overall breakfast quality. I'm happy to say the grits were cooked to the perfect consistency, though very plain. Use them as a blank canvas to add your own butter and seasonings to suit your taste. Another breakfast standard I use to gauge quality is the coffee. If it tastes rich and full-bodied straight up black, it's a winner. This coffee, unfortunately, while not bitter or unpleasant, lacked any specific character or robustness. So, it was Hello, Cream & Sugar--suit up, we need you in this coffee game! The portions here are generous, so come hungry, plan to share, or be ready to take some leftovers home. As for the food? It was hot and tasty but leaned a bit on the bland side. A touch more seasoning would have elevated the flavors. That said, it's still a nice spot for a hearty breakfast, and I look forward to trying more items from the menu on our next visit. On a scale of 1 - 5, I give this particular experience a solid 4; very tasty and satisfying, but we are still searching for the "wow" factor. Maybe I should have ordered that Bloody Mary after all.

**INITIAL REVIEW**…read more Some of you know that I am often brought to historic downtowns and villages in hopes of "letterbox seeding" them. As I get close to concluding Historic Downtown Melbourne/Melbourne Main Street, I am moving both south to Sebastian Riverview Area and north to the Eau Gallie Art District. Today, I decided to further check out the Sebastian Riverview Area and it looks like I'll be getting more done here as I discover more "mom n' pop" shops. One of the restaurants in the area I've been to before is Cafe Latte da. Located on the northside of the Sebastian Riverview Area on the riverside of US-1 (across the street from The District), Cafe Latte da is a smallish shop ran by two women. It is a quaint coffee shop that looks like stepping into grandma's house, well, at least the view you'd think seen on classic television, especially on Lifetime. The women are very kind. Very friendly and admirable and I had such a nice conversation with them. As for the food, it was delicious for what they have. Definitely a place you want to support. Now for the overall criticism. As much as I like this place, I most stress critical points that may be a factor for other patrons. For starters, the two women seem to be the only ones running this place, so there is a layer of grime often associated with homes ran by older people. Each menu had a bit of stickiness to it. For me, not a problem. But I know it can be an issue for others. It is quite evident things need to be wiped down. You can especially see crumbs on certain displays. Next, the food menu is good, but can be limited given the limits they have. Take that as you may, but so far, everything they had served me was delicious which is the more important factor in my opinion. Ultimately, I am going to give an overall rating of three out of five stars. It is good to go here if you can be graceful on some things. But there are some, especially some of my friends who are germiphobes and get uppity if a restroom doesn't have a means to open the door without using your hands. Still, give these ladies and their coffee shop some love. They are pillars in expressing and progressing the community with all the local artists displaying their art, events, and activities they support. I truly hope someone can give them the assistance they need because this place is great, but I can sense there can be issues others might see, especially with certain priviledges we Americans have when it comes to eating out.,

We live just down the road in Vero Beach, so discovering a neighborhood tavern with this much charm practically in our backyard was a real win. We had already eaten lunch at Nini's Cuban across the parking lot, so we stopped in just for a beer. Within minutes we were pulled straight into the atmosphere. Nancy, the bartender and proprietor, is the kind of host every small tavern dreams of. Warm, funny, and completely at ease, she makes newcomers feel like long‑time regulars while keeping the whole place running smoothly. The beer selection is far better than you would expect from a cozy local spot. There is a rotating craft lineup that rivals bigger bars, along with the classics and a surprisingly solid wine list. We spent half our visit sipping and the other half laughing at the hilarious signs covering the walls and at the antics of a couple of regulars who clearly keep the place lively. We have not tried the food yet, but the vibe alone guarantees we will be back and we will be coming hungry. This is the kind of place where you settle in, meet the locals, and let the afternoon drift. For the record, our beer of choice that day was "Cougar Bait." It is as much fun to drink as it is to say!

From the moment I slid onto a barstool, I knew I was in for something special -- and not just because the beer list reads like a love letter to hop heads and casual sippers alike. Each pint poured is thoughtful, crisp, and refreshing, with local craft brews rubbing shoulders beside tried‑and‑true favorites. I lost count somewhere around the third flight, but honestly? Worth it. And then there's Nancy, the bartender -- sweet lord, if every tavern had her warmth and precision, we'd all be happier people. She recommended beers without braggy pretension, anticipated refills like a mind reader, and managed a perfect balance of friendly conversation and professional grace. Her service alone is worth the trip. Great food, killer beers, and a bartender who makes you feel like a VIP? Village Tavern doesn't just raise the bar -- it is the bar.
