We passed by the plethora of cars on the way home from a boat show looked up the yelp reviews and said yes- it's a winner let's check it out! So we came in and there was a little wait but I can see why! The food was delicious plentiful and great value for your money we had onion rings and fried mushrooms to start. LOVED the fried mushrooms which were plentiful! The onion rings were also good but I definitely preferred the mushrooms. Saturday night was German night so you can order from the German menu. We picked the combo pick 3 platter pierogies kielbasa and kraut and golumpli! Delicious. Also I forgot I had French onion soup 5 stars! Miss Sharon waited on us with a smile! Well worth the wait. Traveling in Florida and looking for something unique and stumble upon this little gem that has special features each night. I went on Saturday which is Polish night. I was seated properly upon arrival. They offer 5 different Polish dishes to choose from. I selected the Combination Platter and selected three perigees, golumpki and kielbasa. The perigees are served with sour cream and apple sauce, very traditional. Prior to the entry, I was served a nice salad and bread. The bread was excellent. The decor is 50s diner with lots of interesting items on the wall. Highly recommended, especially if you go on Saturday or Polish night. read more

This is a cute restaurant full of nostalgic items. There are booths and tables and a nice menu, along with specials. Our server quickly took our order, but had to wait while they made more iced tea. I started with the French onion soup and also had the Cobb salad. The soup arrived quickly and was probably some of the best soup I have ever had. The broth was super rich and full of flavor, along with the perfect amount of onions and cheese. Once I finished, I had wished I didn't order a salad as the soup filled me up. It took crazy long for my salad to arrive as people all around us were getting their food. Our server was super personable and was spending time talking with everyone. Atmosphere - Great! The restaurant is a step back in time (roughly the 60s). The pictures and memorabilia are great and it feels like you are dining at your grandparents home. Service - mixed. Our server was very pleasant. However, she spent a fair amount of time conversing with the other customers who are regulars. Food - Good. I ordered the Baked Onion Soup with the open faced turkey sandwich with mashed potatoes and Mac n Cheese. The soup was as good as it gets! Lots of cheese and onions. The broth was absolutely delicious! The turkey is truly sliced breast, not the lunch meat some restaurants serve. The gravy was a little bland, but the mashed potatoes were excellent. The Mac n Cheese tasted fine, but it was served warm at best. Overall Value - Good. The price was reasonable. Especially considering the portion size. In the end, I would try the restaurant again as it has a lot of potential. read more

This is a gem of a family style restaurant. The food is great and at a moderate price. I wish this establishment many years of continued success. Unfortunately, even though the restaurant and most all of the employees have been gracious and very hospitable. Never again. I can accept that the waitress made a mistake with my order that I waited 40 minutes for, it was after that the experience was unscrupulous. Upon bringing out the lunch that I did not order which the waitress put in incorrectly, she promptly took the wrong order and dropped it off to the people at the next table whom she obviously knew do they could take it home for free . I realize it's a dead plate, and I didn't want it but it should have been taken back to the kitchen . I had to sit with no food while my correct order was being made after waiting with no bread, no salad. No offer of a refill. She did bring me an inedible cup of tomato basil soup which tasted like jarred sauce with a ton of dried basil in it. She then never brought our bill to the table and charged us full price for everything and promptly crumpled the receipt and threw it away. The food we did receive was sub par. it used to be great especially on Monday( German) nights BUT recently gone down hill in a big way the one big positive is their pork shank don't miss it if u are a pork fan the Sauerbraten was anything but, chunks of tough chuck( not properly marinated or cooked), the gravy too thick, the potat dumpling needed a steak knife to cut it , the canned red cabbage was tasty but ordinary. iceberg lettuce salad, blah, thankfully they had a decent balsamic dressing, the jaeger schnitzel was large but hard to find the pork cutlet in it, mushrooms and curry gravy was tasty but again too thick, where were the mushrooms. Don't know if they had a different cook last night, but will be a long time before our return The difference between the German food at the former Patty's cafe and this version is like night and day PS THE ENTRANCE DOOR COULD USE A COAT OF PAINT! read more

If you like small time diners with the homie feel this is definitely the place for you. The decorations give you that Old Town feel. The restaurant is in a converted old house so you get the old house feel. When you walk in they have the old school pie display what looks like Delicious pies and cakes on display. The service here is very good always on point never have to wait too long for any sort of service. And again it's a very homie type of service will the waitress will call you hun and Bob and every other country name of endurance that you've probably heard throughout your life. Definitely a good staff working here. The food is usually pretty good. Sometimes I might not be happy with a plate I ordered but that goes without saying it any restaurant. The way the home cooked food here is made is great. Half the time I feel like I'm eating grandma's meatloaf and half the time I feel like I'm eating a baking club sandwich that I used to get at Denny's back when Denny's actually care to make good food. The crowd here all seems to be regulars and a lot of them all know each other. This would definitely be a great place to socialize with locals. The bottom line is I will be back again and again as I've already been here many times. Went on a Monday night for their German food. Ordered the Sauerbraten. It was so salty it actually burned my tongue and throat. Meat was covered with thick gluey salty gravy. Even the red cabbage tasted odd. Would you believe I couldn't even drink the water. It was terrible. The waitress was good, but that's the best thing I can say. So ... once a month a cousin of mine and her husband and I go somewhere for lunch, rotating down near them (they live in Barefoot Bay) and up by me (I live in W Melbourne area) and they took me to Sebastian's Roadside Restaurant. When I first walked in I said "what the hell" to myself... an old cracker home with hundreds (thousands?) of little antiques scattered everywhere. I prepared myself for a bad experience. A friendly, efficient waitress greeted us promptly and took our drink order. When she returned with them, she gave us our menus and explained the daily specials. Check out their menu ... they also have German night and Polish night! Thuirsday is Prime Rib Day! That was the second time I said "what the hell?" What a great and diverse menu with a ton of sandwich and burger options, some appealing plated lunches and a list of mouthwatering dessert options. I opted for the 8 oz. prime rib, mashed potatoes with gravy and I opted for onion rings as my second side. It is available in 6, 8, 12 and 16 oz sizes with your choice of many sides. The rib was done to perfection, free of gristle and served with au jus and horse radish sauce on the side. When I took my first bite is when I said "what the hell?" for the third time. It was one of the best prime ribs I have ever eaten in my life, and I have eaten them in diners to Michelin restaurants! If you are a snob, stay away but if you like good (great) food at fair prices served with a smile on their faces, give this place a try. We have been there two times. Once with the old owner and a second time with the new owner, Nettie. We found the food delicious both times. We have had the cheesesteak sub, cheeseburger, fried green tomatoes, chicken tenders, which by the way is my grandson's absolute favorite chicken tenders of anywhere in Sebastian or Vero. Also, my husband had the captain's platter, which is a seafood platter. He loved it Very happy with the food here. The staff is very friendly. Nothing to complain about it this restaurant. When we first walked in the hostess (older lady) was rude and just seemed out right miserable. The waitress was unpleasant not nice at all did not get any refills on receipt got charged extra for tea instead of water. Prime rib was not good at all, the three of us all got the 8oz and 3oz out of 8oz was fat and soggy. The place needed to be dusted years ago. I have been to this restaurant 3 times because it is very conveniently located to my residence. I have never had a great meal there but it is always so busy, I figured I'd try it again. Each time it's been disappointing. Last night my wife and I had the prime rib. It was very underwhelming. The plating of the food was so unappetizing, I didn't even take a picture. This is a mom and pop shop and the staff is very pleasant. With all of the great restaurants in the area, the third time was not the charm and I will not be returning. Our previous dinner here was in April 2022, and we had a good experience so returned tonight while in the area. We arrived on a Tuesday evening at 6:30 p.m. and were seated quickly; no wait. What IS new is that the restaurant closes at 7:30 pm now, so I was glad I checked on Google to see the change in hours. Also, I looked on their website which has a number of outdated posts. I have attached pictures. The website indicates in two different places that they serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner and even includes a customer testimonial about breakfast. They do NOT serve breakfast and in fact do not open until 11:30 a.m. and only serve lunch and dinner. Additionally, there is another website post that indicates they serve lunch and dinner "6" days a week, however they are only open 5 days a week, Tues-Sat. They also advertise a Monday special when they are not open on Mondays. Another "surprise" that is not posted on their website, but you will find printed on their menu, is a statement that they now upcharge your bill with a 3.5% processing fee if you use a charge card to pay your bill. They are obviously trying to keep from increasing their menu prices by passing their credit card merchant fees onto their customers. If you don't know this ahead of time and don't carry cash, then you are forced to make the decision to pay this processing fee, leave to find an ATM machine, or eat somewhere else. Now, granted the 3.5% processing fee isn't a "huge" addition to the tab, however it's a "nickel and dime" type approach that "most" customers don't care for and not a widespread practice in the restaurant business. So, onto food and service. Service was a little slow. Our waitress was busy giving other clients their bills and clearing tables, so the woman who seats people and runs the cash register got our drinks for us when she saw we had been sitting with no service. Then our waitress came to the table to take our orders. She then brought us each a small plate of dinner bread with 3 slices each. One of us ordered the fried oyster special for $19.99 which came with 10 oysters and 2 sides. The sides selected were mashed potatoes with gravy and a side salad. One of us ordered the 1/2 lb fried shrimp dinner for $12.99 which came with around 20 small shrimp, fries, and coleslaw (only applesauce could be substituted without an upcharge). The side salad came out when the bread was served. Our entrees were delivered to the table about 20 minutes after placing our orders. Pricing for entrees is moderate and the food portions are reasonable for the established price points. The fried oysters were tasty, and both the oysters and the shrimp were fried with a light coating of batter (not too heavy). All sides were good and had nice flavor. While there are many other restaurants in Sebastian with waterfront views and entertainment, this casual spot is one you must stop in and try while in the area. They may not have a sunset view, but the employees are engaged with their customers, friendly, and the food is better than that offered at most of the other restaurants in the area. It's not fancy or flashy, but you can count on sweet servers and a reasonably priced, good meal. I strongly suggest they work on updating their website so that correct information is advertised to include the new practice of charging a 3.5% processing fee when paying with a credit card so that people can come prepared with cash or know ahead of time about this payment practice. I also feel that when an entree comes with fries, that the mashed potatoes and baked potato should be interchangeable without an upcharge. The base cost of all 3 of these potato items can't be that different. French fries come in bulk in a frozen bag, russet potatoes come in a 5 lb bag for $3.49 or 10 lb bag for $5.49 (retail at Walmart), and mashed potatoes whether instant or boiled and then whipped are about the same in price comparison. I personally try to avoid fries when I am already eating a fried entree, but the ONLY option offered to me without an upcharge was applesauce?? I would have preferred a potato item that wasn't fried or even a veggie. Why shouldn't a side of the SAME cost on the menu not be able to be substituted out without charging more? Example, if fries are $3, a baked potato $3, veggie $3, side salad $3, or any other side for the same price; why couldn't ANY of these items be swapped out without an upcharge? Makes no sense. Next time if I don't want the fries or the one other option (applesauce) instead, will you subtract (down-charge) $3 off my bill? Just saying.... read more

This place is step back in time when this town was much younger, Elvis was king, and racing was local and special. There are lots of remnants of a by-gone era that can be enjoyed by all who pass through hanging on the walls and placed strategically around the dining room giving conversations a subtle nudge. The staff are professional and attentive. Me, and it seemed everyone around me were very satisfied with the food, but you would have to check it out for yourself.
