I'd been by here million times and wasn't sure it was open. We finally stopped in and it's thriving! Nicely appointed menu with nice offerings of chef prepared entrees. I chose crab cakes for me, she had the tuna tacos... it's a cool almost Cuban vibe. Dessert was amazing! (I have a picture and recall it involved ice cream and a caramel topping but unfortunately don't remember what it's called.) Service was great, menu offered cool fare, def a spot to hit again and try the next thing on the menu!

We actually made it inside for dinner tonight without a wait. Last time we attempted to have dinner here, there was a 1 1/2 hour wait, so we left and found somewhere else to eat. The building has nice curb appeal. Once inside however, there is very limited bar seating, and the dining area is quite small. So many people crammed into the tiny space makes it very loud and you have to shout across the table to hold a conversation. Our server, Brian, was efficient but not very personable and seemed agitated to have to repeat himself to tell us about the specials because we simply could not hear him over all the noise. He did nothing more than deliver drinks and food to the table, take our plates before some of us were finished, and deliver the bills. He wasn't interested in any personal exchanges to make us feel particularly welcomed. Not a great table-side manner. House wines are $8/glass, they do have beers on draft, bottled beers, and a full bar for cocktails. The menu is fairly limited but offers nice selections. Our entrees were good, however overpriced for the amount of food received on the plates, especially the tuna tacos which came with no sides; just two small tacos with minimal ingredients. $25 is just too much to ask for 2 tacos. The person that ordered these at our table, left still hungry. The overall dining experience was just okay. There were just too many people stuffed into a limited dining area making it loud, stuffy, and warm. For the entrees offered, there are other restaurants in the area that offer the same or similar menu items that are as equally good or better for a 1/3 less on the prices &/or offer more generous portions. I was hoping to be exceptionally wowed, but it just didn't happen.

Positive experience. Small restaurant, there's more parking than there is seating. Hostess was friendly but a bit confused. We sat at the bar bc there was a 30 min wait. The tables are close together, not a lot of personal space (same goes for bar seating). The bartender was friendly & on top of the specials. He offered recommendations & great conversation. The food was really good & timely. We ordered the specials, the menu is a bit limited. The key lime pie is made in house & was delicious. They have beer & wine, so I got champagne. Clean establishment. The prices reflect the fresh well prepared food. I honestly don't think I'd visit again bc on the menu I only saw fish tacos appealing. They don't offer a full bar & the seating is too tight.

Nine months later.........One of the things about going back to a solid 5 star restaurant is the expectation of another quality experience. And Chill and Grill did not disappoint. On a Saturday evening we brought along another couple who were first timers. We were greeted at the hostess station by the front house half of the married owners. Csilla (think Chill-uh, hence the restaurant moniker), is animated & outgoing. We were seated promptly. It wasn't overly crowded. Tim, our pleasant and knowledgeable waiter, took our drink orders. When he returned he shared the dinner specials and took our orders. We started with another order of those steamed clams ($15). Ahhh. The lightly salted buttery broth, the tender clam meat. The bread. Still wonderful. The appetizer of Asian duck wings were sauced in a mildly spicy sweet glaze. Grilled and quickly fried, the meat was crispy/charred. The wings were dotted with sesame seeds and sprinkled with chopped scallions. Delicious. Our friends nodded in agreement. I ordered the restaurant's popular dish; Cajun shrimp and grits with andouille sausage pieces ($23.99) On a bed of creamy white hominy grits, the chef ladled on six large peeled shrimp and 1/4 rounds of sausage in a mildly spicy Cajun seasoned broth. Those flavors are time tested and the chef's interpretation did not disappoint. My wife and our friend both ordered the Chicken pasta ($21). Rich creamy cheese sauce with pesto coated penne pasta and pieces of good sun-dried tomatoes. Sliced grilled white meat topped the bed of pasta. Both proclaimed the dish as very good and my sample tasting added to their vote of approval. Finally, the fourth diner opted for the evening special of a smoked cattleman's NY strip steak ($34.99). This was the showpiece dish at our table. The 14 oz cut was allowed to wear a fat cap to enhance the smoke and grill treatment. The result was a mildly smoked and grilled cut of beef that was eye-rolling delicious. The oak smoke was the seasoning, sans some salt and pepper. It was ordered at medium rare temp and leaned to the rare side but was wonderfully tender. Served with truffle fries and grilled asparagus, it is a must try if you're undecided on an entree and it's a special on the menu. Another tempting special I had to bypass was the smoked turkey pot pie ($22). Close but....next time. No room for dessert but we know from our previous visit that our expectation of an outstanding dessert would be confirmed. Chill and Grill has found its place on our list of favorites.

Duck wings appetizer! Wonderful light spicy sauce!

Have visited this roadside bistro a couple times since our initial review. It is consistently very good. A modest menu and some nice specials. We love the duck wings appetizer and the warm brownie sundae is a great way to finish the meal. It is a little small and noisy but the service is excellent and it is always a delightful, unpretentious night out!

My birthday dinner just perfect eveything about this

Excellent food and service. I recommend the braised beef and beet salad. Wine selection curated to suit the menu. Friendly, quiet vibe.

Yummy food. Family run business. Mom Sheila is a riot, and very involved with the patrons; while one son tends bar and the other cooks.

This might be my favorite restaurant in all of Vero Beach! Every time I am in town, I visit to…read moreorder the same meal. It used to be on the menu and no longer it but if you ask, they'll make it for you. It is called a honey basil, salmon salad. It comes on a bit of spinach with poppyseed dressing and fruits, like mandarin oranges and sometimes blueberries and red onion, which I know is not a fruit. It's worth noting that it comes with shaved almonds so if you have a nut allergy like myself, make sure to ask for it without those. The salad is filling. The salmon is always cooked wonderfully and is a really great portion for a salad. It's all very fresh. I like to get it with a side of truffle fries. This comes as the appetizer portion for $10 with shaved Parmesan on the top. It's really really good. My husband likes to get the bistro burger, which has bacon jam on it. He thinks the bacon jam is so so good. We both consider this a must visit destination when we're in town. I don't know what I'm gonna do if they ever decide not to make this item since it is truly not on the menu.

Live in Vero nearly 30 years ago and never knew this was here, or maybe it was an addition to the area after we moved away. Glad to have found it though because it is such a cute brunch place. Plenty of outdoor seating and while they had indoor seating with AC, we had a dog with us and wasn't able to be seated inside away from the heat of summer. I would suggest they maybe add some overhead fans to the outdoor seating to make it more comfortable during the brutal summer but no biggie. The service was very attentive and food was delicious with a Parisian, coastal vibe. Highly recommend!
