A simple restaurant with a dated and uncomfortable seating. From the looks of it a lot of locals go and it was pretty busy. Loud wait staff greeted everyone and seem to make a performance out of their witty banter. I ordered two eggs, toast and hash browns. It was ok. The eggs were cooked as I asked but the hash browns were not. I asked for well done/crispy but got medium soft but slightly browned. My wheat toast was hardly buttered so I loaded up with strawberry jam. Their ketchup is in a nondescript squeeze bottle and the hot sauce was a name brand. I skipped the ketchup. They did get my food out pretty fast and other orders were also coming out pretty quick it seemed. I am not sure I will be back. Just did not wow me enough to drive over the bridge. read more

Run down old style diner. Tables were sticky. We ordered the avocado toast and chicken fried steak bowl. The bowl was actually tasty but my avocado toast - not so much. Worse. Avocado toast. EVER! It looked like old turning brown guacamole spread on toast with chopped tomato, onion, bacon and feta sprinkled on top. Definitely not like any avocado toast I've had before. I asked for extra butter on my grits and they were served swimming in yellow oil. Also not a fan of seeing political t-shirts (God, Guns & Trump 2024) on the serving staff. Total turn off. My brother and I get breakfast at Friendly Toast at least 2x a month and the food is always great. We usually do the 2 egg platter (I get the smoked sausage) and sometimes share a side of bacon. I don't know where they get their bacon, but it's divine. Thicker cut and cooked just right. It's got downhome charm and the staff is always kind. Just talking about this place is making me hungry. Many of my reviewers and Yelp friends know that I love breakfast and brunch restaurants. There is something about breakfast food that is just amazing to my palette. Ergo, whenever hear about a new breakfast or brunch place, I just got to try it out. Friendly Toast Cafe 2 (which I will just shorthand to "Friendly Toast" for the remainder of the review) is located on Wickham Rd. near Adecco. The question is if its worth eating there and the answer is "yes" if you want an all-around good experience. Upon enterting, you'll be treated by a lot of beach designs. Apparently the owners love going there! The chairs and tables are of simple and basic design meaning they can be okay or uncomfortable depening on who you are and how you feel. The food however is really good. I personally love their omelettes and breakfast burritos. Biscuits and gravy are good still and their pancakes are delicious. I also love that they promote art. Someone painted one of their daughters, who used to work there, and it is hanging in the restaurant. The only issues I would bring up with Friendly Toast Cafe 2 is the fact there is always another breakfast or brunch restaurant that does one thing or the other better than they do. Atmosphere: Keke's. Price and biscuits: Oh Biscuit. Biscuits and gravy: Family Tradition. What Friendly Toast does have going is a well-balance of all the attributes that make a great restaurant. I will definitely retry this place for a far better understanding of what they have to offer. But for now, they sit at four out of five stars. The staff is very friendly and the service is good. Coffee is obviously low quality grounds and seriously void of any taste. The orange juice was tropicana, come on people its florida, you can buy tropicana at Walmart. I ordered the hash omlette. The hash was out of the can which is a joke since making fresh hash takes little effort. The hash browns were frozen straight from the bag. You could taste the freezer in the hash browns. Awful!!! Besides the food being of poor quality this place doesn't take credit cards. Once I saw that we should have walked out. Its a sign of impending doom for a restaurant. At the recommendation of my son, I tried this restaurant for the first time today. All I can say is wow! Excellent food, excellent service! I had the veggie omelet with dry rye and fruit. I love that there are healthy options. My omelet was cooked to perfection, and best of all, didn't come out floating in oil or butter. The toast was a marbled rye, and the fruit was so fresh, the cook cut it up rather than scoop it out of a tub. To top of breakfast, my son got a cinnamon roll, and I had a small piece. It is to die for, and also fresh baked to order. Donna was our server and provided excellent service. She was prompt, friendly, courteous and just an overall pleasure to have! read more

Unfortunately I've finally had to write this place off. I tried not to, but it's just too inconsistent and unpredictable. Don't get me wrong, I have had some good meals there, but overall it's not worth dealing with. It's always the same story "We have a new cook", or "So and so is back and it'll be better". I'm tired of having to be at the mercy of the "Cook Du Jour", or being served food that's been sitting out for hours on end. Nevertheless the lady who always seems to sweep under my table, relentlessly banging her broom off my feet while I'm trying to eat. When I ask her to stop, she just looks at me and starts laughing. It just seems as if there is nobody keeping an eye on what's leaving the kitchen. The owner seems nice enough, but she's always sitting at the counter playing on her phone oblivious to what her customers are being served.On top of this her wait staff if far too inexperienced to tell good food from bad food. I think they prefer their "known regulars" to outsiders. I knew something was off when the waitress deliberately wiped her smile off her face whenever she turned from her usuals to me. The scrambles are puny. Definitely not 3 egg. I had about a teaspoon of ham on mine. It was really skimpy. Not sure if the owner is trying to cut corners or if they ran out at 10am. Scramble was about the volume of a deck of cards. Not okay at $9. Turkey bacon was a joke, see pic. I couldn't down it. First she told me it was included with the scramble then charged me for it. Have been to The Friendly Toast Cafe approximately 10 times in the last 2 or 3 years love with food. However approximately 6 months ago I took my wife and son extremely disappointed at the complete lack of covid-19 not one other person in the restaurant was wearing a mask and actually the owner was complaining and couldn't understand why her business was so slow. It's a shame really because we love their restaurant but will not be back until things change! read more

When we were traveling on our way to south Florida the handy dandy Yelp app helped us find this place; it's a little bit off of I-95, but worth it. We walked in and were greeted by a friendly staff that told us to sit where would like, so we took a seat. Our server came up to take our drink orders, my wife ordered coffee and I ordered water; we both got coffee. While we were greeted with a smile, the server wasn't all that friendly; but she was efficient at doing her job. And one important thing to remember if you visit FTC2 is to bring cash with you; they don't accept cards or checks, but they do have an ATM. read more

I was skeptical about this place, I'll admit it. The location is tucked away in a plaza off of Wickham Rd. We went on a Sunday morning and boy the place was packed! (Thats a goooood sign!!) When we walked in, we were immediately greeted by at least 2 servers. Even though they were obviously busy. One server had cleaned off our table and another sat us immediately. There's a menu you can order from but they also have a breakfast and lunch board with daily specials that aren't on the menu. I decided to try the Eggs Benedict (of course!) And my husband tried the Pavo Benedict. (Eggs bene with turkey). We also ordered the coconut battered french toast on hawaiian bread that has a side of sliced ham and grilled pineapple ring. The food was GREAT! I loved my eggs benedict and my husband liked his also but I'm telling you the coconut french toast is a winner. It was SO good!! And to top it off, since my friends and followers on here know how picky I am about service, I'm just going to say that every restaurant in Brevard County should take notes from these servers. Service here was so good I cant even tell you the name of my server because they ALL came by the table to make sure we were prepared and happy. This place would be my #1 so far for best service. My ONLY gripe.. and I know a lot of people would rate low stars for this but the service and food was so good Im like who cares.. BUT: My husband ordered coffee and I guess they were out of regular coffee cups so they gave him a mug that had brown bears on the front and read "dad, you're the best!!" Or something to that nature. It was someones personal cup? To me, I was like send it back and get a regular cup but now my husband wants that cup every time because its bigger and he says "it feels like I'm at home with strangers. I like it." He's a weirdo! The other gripe I have is the servers carrying drinking straws in their back jean pockets. The servers don't have aprons? I turned my lip and my nose up at the straws being in the back pocket but again.. service was good, who cares. We're definitely coming back! They literally have all my favorites. I was looking for a replacement for The Eggcellent Cafe (The Egg and I) after it closed down, but I wasn't expecting to find something better. Waffles with strawberries and bananas. Great omelettes. Awesome oatmeal and grits. I've found my new favorite breakfast. Great breakfast at a good value. They have a really good set of non-traditional breakfast specials to keep things interesting. The biscuits and gravy are quite yummy- not too flour laden, a lot of sausage in the gravy, and not overly spicy. Just right with a side of sausage. We had an unfortunate tantrum with my disabled child. She threw her plate and silverware in frustration. They handled this so well and prepared her another breakfast without being asked. My girlfriend and I had lunch here on a Saturday. I had a chicken caesar salad, she had a tuna melt. Both dishes were well portioned and prepared as you would expect for diner food. The real shining star though, was the soup. My girlfriend had the cheese soup, and I, the roasted red pepper. Both were fantastic. The staff was friendly and responsive. The decor was adequate. One item that would increase my rating would be to remove the paper signs at every table that ask you to pay with cash instead of card. Like many consumers today, I do not carry much cash, and those signs make you feel awkward to present your card for payment. I'd prefer they remove the signs and absorb the few cents per item it costs to accept cards, into their pricing. read more
