    Your first impression??

I went there this morning 9/5 with a friend for breakfast. The service was top notch. Very attentive and prompt server. The food was very good and reasonably priced. There were a couple of concerns regarding first impressions( see pics). First the entry door is caked in crud that must be years old. It's hardly an inviting look. Second, the menus suffered the same fate with heavy stains on them. They're beyond cleaning and should be replaced. The tables and chairs are clean but it gives customers pause to think what the kitchen looks like.

I am not normally a breakfast person, but a friend recommended this place to me, and it was worth every penny. I ordered a breakfast burrito with a side of potatoes. Well seasoned and SO MUCH FOOD. Loved their hot sauce selection as well!!

OH MY FREAKING GOD. Came in for the Easter specials and I was not disappointed, lamb and grits, oh my god it was so flavorful and tender I thought I died and went to heaven the carrot cake fritters were fabulous, I don't even like carrot cake but I couldn't stop eating the damn things. And the croque Madame eggs Benedict were fabulous. I wish I was joking when I say my friend and I were literally tearing up over how good the food was. Not only was the food good but so was the service and restaurant itself is beautiful

It's such a cute little cafe in a hidden strip mall. I've been here a couple of times, and all great experiences. Staff is always fast and friendly. Drinks (Mimosa's and Bloody Mary's) are always smooth and well made. Prices a great.

Finally Stopped by today after driving by everyday on my way to work and saying, I need to bring hubbs here. We had to wait about 20 minutes today but that's not too bad. The outside is not much to look at but what matters is the cleanliness, atmosphere, service and food. The food is as good, although for the price they could give a little more with their platters. Good selection of breakfast items. We enjoyed our breakfast experience today and do recommend it if you are looking for a casual spot with the staple breakfast items.

These stars are ALL about the food! Best grits I've EVER had. Amazing corn beef hash, delicious home fries/potatoes, wonderful marble rye toast, and an incredible eggs Benedict menu, full of choices. The hollandaise sauce is divine. We had the New York Eggs Benedict and found it to be perfect. Service is a bit slow because this place is busy but servers are friendly. The ambiance is straight up diner - no frills. But if you are looking for incredible breakfasts, this is a must-try

The review for this cafe is way overdue as I went to this restaurant way before "the new normal" now that we have COVID-19 as a part of our lives. For starters, my first time here is a bit of a unique situation. I went in a huge group from my church near the tail end of their hours. From what I know, they are one of many breakfast and brunch mom and pop restaurants that affectionately dot the Space Coast. Starting with the location, interior, and design, there is some minimal alertness necessary as Mulberry Lane Cafe (which I will now shorthand to MLC for the rest of the review) is located within a strip mall. As for the interior and design, quite simple yet comfortable and clean enough. This definitely goes for the restrooms. Must always have clean restrooms no matter what right? Now to the coup de grace. The food, through many breakfast and brunch mom and pop restaurants are somewhat familiar, has to be good. And by God it is. I know it is just soups, salads, sandwiches, and breakfast, but even if "it is the same as others," it is still good if done with care. Ultimately, it is the service and speed that gets my high marks. Like I said earlier, we had a huge group at the tail end of their hours so them to cook and deliver delicious food in the short amount of time they had, exquisite. Unfortunately, I can't review this restaurant in accordance to "the new normal" of curbside pickup and online ordering. However, if their service is still fast and their food still good, I see MLC not having any issues onward.

Mulberry Lane Cafe is a hidden (you can easily drive past it) gem located in a somewhat empty plaza off of US-1 in Melbourne, Florida next to a store front that used to be the DMV (where I passed my driving test on the first try many moons ago...but I digress..). They are open for breakfast and lunch and you will not be disappointed if you venture in here for a meal. My mom treated my fiance and I to breakfast here on a Sunday morning and we were full for most of the day. The decor is simple and clean - wooden tables and chairs with booths lining the shiplapped (thank you for the term, Joanna Gaines) wall - think 1980's. They also have a counter that you can sit at with diner-style stools and we saw many (seemingly) "regulars" having their breakfast with a cup of coffee while chatting up the friendly staff. A chalkboard of the day's specials is visible when you walk in, but I was distracted by the mountain of homemade bakery treats (ginormous muffins, cinnamon rolls, pies) in the display case next to the cash register. I wanted to eat everything I saw on the menu, but I stuck with the "double breakfast" - two eggs, two pieces of bacon and two pancakes with some fruit. It didn't take too long for our food to arrive and everything was delicious. The pancakes were dense, yet light and satisfied my sweets craving. My fiance's steak was cooked perfectly (and he's picky about steak) and my mom loved her half-order of biscuits and gravy and side of scrambled eggs. We were too full to try any of the bakery treats, but to the huge chocolate chip peanut butter muffin: I'm coming back for you!

The latte can be any one on their menu & the croissant sandwich includes egg & cheese, but can add meat of choice. This place has a clean, one-page (front&back) menu with croissants, sandwiches, toasts, & waffles. To drink, there are lattes, teas, & refreshers. ATMOSPHERE This cafe is clean & quaint, and I felt relaxed seated at one of their few tables. The lady behind the counter was pleasant & readily offered details about their menu. The long counter displayed teas and glass-domes that elegantly covered their cakes & muffins. There are two outdoor bistro tables, & I watched one couple sit outside with their small dog, so this is a dog-friendly location when seated outdoors. OTHER *We earned "roses" with each purchase, which goes towards rewards. *This was such a diverse cafe. This place was welcoming to everyone. *Hours are convenient I definitely recommend this cafe. Please let me know if you try it!

Crispy without being burnt, well seasoned, and the combination of flavors went so well together. The egg was delicious. My smoothie was huge and I had to take the rest to go. I was pleasantly stuffed. The rest of the smoothie lasted most of the day and was still good and it got less cold. I'd come back here if I'm ever in the area a.

**INITIAL REVIEW**…read more For me, Historic Downtown Melbourne has become one of my most-visited hubs for socialization, especially in south Brevard County. Thanks to the brilliant people at DTMB or Melbourne Main Street, the area has been improving. I definitely like the new businesses coming in, taking a slice of history in their own sake. Once such place is Villon Coffee. Originally, a "food truck" as the are more of a coffee truck, Villon Coffee (which I will shorthand simply to Villon for the remainder of the review) has expanded to the point they now have two brick-and-mortal locations. The one I like to frequent is, of course, Historic Downtown Melbourne. Now to be fair, they are an a-okay coffee shop, but mostly because of how management runs it more so than the vibe and staff. The vibe and staff: excellent! Definitely have a lot of good things to say about Ally. However, how management (whom I never seen onsite whatsoever) runs the location, is no bueno! Though an address is given, Villon is located on the southside of New Haven Ave. that runs though Historic Downtown Melbourne. If it helps, they are more on the eastside of the town stretch just west of the train tracks. Villon is a smallish location consisting of a main serving room and a "waiting" room that showcases their wares for sale. The waiting room also has an island table and couch, which works well as board games (though most of them are incomplete) are available for guests. The pinball machine, Godzilla, requires 50 cents to play. The main serving floor has bar seating along the storefront window, serving counter, and the side window. As for decor, a lot of yellow, black, and greys in modern art triangles and flowers that highlight their color scheme. Also, the restroom is gender neutral, which is fine as it is a single-person restroom. Usually clean and stocked, but not the best looking restroom. Ever seen a grungy warehouse look in a restroom but was still clean? That's what Villon here has. This is where things are critical. For some reason, management usually has only one person on staff. Now to be fair, most of the day only needs one person, but during rushes, you'll end up waiting. This is not a food truck which is understandable why there is a wait, but an actual brick-and-mortar restaurant. And given its small size and menu, you'd think they would be able to keep rotation on goods up to par. There have been times I came in in which Ally has said they don't have something or another. This goes for their food which I am unsure is either premade or storebought. Needless to say, they don't have the space to cook anything from scratch, so everything is "heat and ready to serve." There is a couple of coolers with bagels, and oatmeal bites ready to eat, though. But the food that really stands out is the wares made by Chef & Summers. They are delicious, but sometimes, they can be sold out. Villon is also quite innovative in their drinks, more so than any other coffee shop I can think of locally. Ergo, they get the hit-or-miss judgment a tad bit more, but because they are being bold more so than being either good or bad. Overall, Villon, as mentioned earlier, is an a-okay place. The staff does the best they can with what they have and what they are given. But I guarantee you they'd be better with more management support. Since I have visited this place numerous times prior to my initial review, I can definitely give Villon a solid three out of five stars with the aforementioned points above. If management helps improve this location, then maybe, just maybe, I will give them a fair shake and update my review. Until then, good place to stop by if you are in the area and you just need a stop to go to, but definitely better coffee shop options out there. My suggestion: The Sun Shoppe at the west end of Historic Downtown Melbourne or Apocalpyse Coffee Roasters heading north on Babcock St. right at the intersection with US-1.

I know I know matcha tastes like you slid into outfield and ate grass but hear me out. It actually isn't so bad I topped it with vanilla foam and although it made it less healthier it's way better than a wheat grass shot! Pricing is reasonable and they have these muffins that was pretty much the same price as my drink but they are big enough to share. Service was quick and the staff friendly. Since you didn't get your Starbucks bear cup protest by going here instead: you won't be disappointed! J/k Oh, I forgot to mention my friend grabbed this cute shirt for me because I packed all long sleeves for my trip and it was hot. Leave it to me to pack for a cold freeze and then fly home the day before it happened! Anyways, if you're in the area or just passing through make a stop here.

**INITIAL REVIEW**…read more Prior to visiting the initial location for Bold Cup Coffee, it must be noted that 1.) I went to a Bold Cup Coffee location before, the one on Babcock St. next to Arcade Monsters which used to be their roastery and 2.) I personally know the owner, Alex. Ergo, given these facts, I am going to do my best to be unbiased when reviewing the Aveneue Viera location. But to be fair, this location is probably the endgame result of what Alex wants for his second location. Bold Cup Coffee is everything most people want in a simple coffee shop. Though an address is provided, Bold Cup Coffee (which I will simply shorthand to Bold Cup for the remainder of this review) is located on the eastern part of the Avenue Viera outer ring of stores, just south of Belk Lindsay. The ambiance is very simple yet fits to the whole decorum that the owners of The Avenue Viera are aiming to have for all of their businesses in the shopping plaza. Bold Cup, by all means, is first and foremost a coffee shop and roastery. The mainstay of their menu are coffee and tea products which includes bags of their roasted coffee beans. Out of all the products they provide, I definitely have to push for the Tres Leches Latte. It is definitely a delicious latte with its three different milk flavors. It should be noted Bold Cup does sell food, primarily bakery goods. However, the baked goods are made from other local businesses within Brevard County. For example, the cookies on sale are from The Sweet Heartist. As for hot food, Bold Cup doesn't have any on hand, but they have opened their location for another small business that sells Argentinian sandwiches and empanadas called ¡Si Che-F! Since ¡Si Che-F! doesn't have its own business page and I am unsure if they will be allowed to have one as they are sharing space with Bold Cup but probably are not named on the lease, I will give a quick review for them, here, in which their sandwiches are delicious, but seems to be preferable when toasted. The price can be a bit high not because the sandwiches, though good, are simple in nature in accordance to their pricetag. The empanadas are amazing and are priced accordingly. As for the functionality of their location, Bold Cup has a selective number of seating inside and a limited number of seating outside. It should also be noted the private back room is half wall sofas and the other half high-end tables and chairs. There is a large community table in the middle of the coffee shop which is probably meant for larger groups and families. Finally, Bold Cup is definitely "bold" when it comes to the expression of their faith in Lord Jesus Christ. I am unsure if this is considered a Christian coffee shop, but do take note that the whiteboard showcased in the front of the order counter has plenty of Holy Bible verses written on them to encourage patrons. On a sidenote, the restroom is a single-serving unisex restroom which was clean and well stocked. Finally, Bold Cup does have complimentary internet for those who may want to use the in-house web over their data plan. Ultimately, Alex did a fine job with this amazing coffee shop and roastery. For me personally, I would be going here on an almost daily basis if it weren't a bit of a drive compared to other coffee shops and kava bars near where I live. Initially, I will give Bold Cup Coffee four out of five stars, the highest rating - taking in that no business is perfect and my perchance for grace towards independent/local businesses - any mom n' pop can attain. If Bold Cup continues to be the excellent business it was on my initial visit from friendly staff, cleanliness, and dedication to the menu they provide, I will give them their fifth star for consistency in an updated rating/review.
