My husband and I had gone to Izzy's a few times and had found other diners we liked better. My brother really likes this place so we gave it another shot after about a year. We went for breakfast. Sat ourselves and we got beverages fairly quickly. She took our order and did say there's a bit of a back up in the kitchen, no problem as it is busy being a Saturday. while sitting there waiting on our order we observed several tables that were not cleared. The. We noticed our server pulled up a chair at a large table and sat down. Thinking she knew them and was going to take their order which she did not. She sat there maybe 4 minutes just chatting all while dirty tables needed to be cleared. We also witnessed another server who started clearing tables and the cloth she used to wipe the table fell off the cart she put it and onto the floor. I didn't want to know if this dirty cloth which was used to wipe multiple tables down was picked up or not as we were leaving. What's sad to me is this is a cute place, small but has space for more tables if it were organized to do so. We noticed there was a mettle rack I. The dining area towards the back with supplies on it. There was space where we were sitting for another table or two while there was a table for 6 up front where it seemed cramped. It would fit nicely in the back are if it was a more organized. Needless to say we won't be back on top of how I feel about this diner when I got my omelet it had mushroom in it. I hate mushrooms. When asked what was in the veggie omelet she said onions peppers and tomatoes. She never mentioned mushrooms! read more

Grilled biscuits and gravy with a side of tots and a Big Boy that includes eggs, bacon, sausage links, sausage patty and slice of ham with choice of toast or pancake and choice of home fries, grits or tots. Our first time to Izzy's diner for the Friday night fish fry. I went with my wife and neighbor. Probably the worst haddock I've ever had. It was crunchy under the batter. Had gray spots that did not smell or taste great. Awful tartar sauce because it has sweet relish in it. Just like Dixie crossroads went to, which ruined the tartar sauce. McDonald's in Red Lobster have better tartar sauce. The fries were great! However, the service was so great, we will give it another try, but would not recommend the fish. read more

We regularly go to Izzy's & they never disappoint. Their breakfast portion sizes are great and the food is always fresh. The staff is friendly and I love that they have a drive thru to pick up your carry out orders. They're fairly priced for the amount of food you get. read more

The only negative thing was the patty melt, while it was cooked perfectly great onions on it BUT it was America cheese ! Should always be Swiss unless you ask otherwise. Lamentably, this occasion has produced the very same result. Frankly, there really is no acceptable excuse. Izzy could lay claim to the justification that she must keep prices low, owing in part to the small customer base, thereby also providing a defense for the use of cheaper ingredients. My incredulous retort is evinced by the simple fact that there are certainly other eateries that do infinitely more, despite equally low prices, coupled with a similarly low-income customer base. Again, there really is no acceptable excuse. The lone bright spot here is our ofisiant, Michelle. She made the top five service list, for the second quarter. I ordered: Kielbasa with eggs, a biscuit, home fries, and pancakes. Bluntly, this is just slop. It couldn't hope to appear appetizing, even if it were glazed in aspic. Lovely place ! Nice and clean and not super busy when me and my friend went around 11:30 am . Our waitress Kathy was so quick go from table to table and not missing a thing. I would give 5 stars but two things prevented that, I got an extra egg and they charged more than double what I'm used to. If you use a card,(which everyone does nowadays), they charge you extra and don't tell you until it's already charged to your card. The place looks trashy inside and out but the food was very good. They over did it with home fry seasoning just a bit but they were still good and cooked on the grill instead of deep fried like some places do which I loved. Eggs were perfect and the rye toast tasted fresh( not stale). The hash was well cooked. The staff was friendly and welcoming. I would recommend you try this place. Overall it was a good experience. I'm from the sticks up north and there's always that diner that's in a one horse town and hasn't been updated since it's been built but has the best food you've ever had, this place reminds me of such a place. read more

Even though the coffee was very weak, Izzy's deserves five stars. Every food item we ordered was excellent and prepared just the way we asked. My husband's omelette was on point and the breakfast potatoes were excellent. My eggs were cooked as requested and the bacon extra well done. The sausage gravy was lacking something and a bit of a disappointment considering everything else was so great. The pancakes were comparable to my own (which are the best!). Lol. Oh, and I can't forget the baked apples. Excellent. I posted pictures. Bring cash but it's very reasonably priced. Definitely will be back to Izzy's when we're in the area. Nautical theme, I ordered a Greek salad and fries, no Greek dressing; and it was very wet iceberg lettuce with a little bit of purple cabbage, 2 thin sliced dried out cucumber slices, canned sliced black olives, 2 tomato wedges, and a cross between feta and cottage cheese. Evidently they put jalapeños on it also, but I opted not to get those. My husband got a decent amount of food for the price and he had breakfast. However, $7.99 for a non-Greek salad that you advertised as Greek, and then a plate of overdone frozen fries. It just wasn't my choice. read more

This was my first time visiting Izzy's Diner, and it will probably be my last. The service was slow, and the food was cold! I understand that sometimes it can be busy, but when you see several customers who were seated after us receiving their food first, it's upsetting. Not only did we receive our food late; it was very cold, and it seemed as if our food was sitting for a while. The customers who came in afterwards had hot food as we observed the steam coming off their plates. You can see from my picture that the cheese isn't even melted on my scrambled eggs. The ambiance was cold and not very friendly. Our waitress, Michelle, asked everyone around us if they needed anything and also asked them how everything was. She never asked us if we needed anything else or cared to ask how everything was. She just took our plates and, after several minutes, brought us our check. She didn't even say anything to us; she just walked away. We certainly didn't feel our business was appreciated here, so we will take our business elsewhere! She was kind, efficient, and super sweet with bright eyes that made us all feel at home. Everyone working there had an easy smile which made for an even better experience. I have to repeat some of the same sentiment others have said. This place isn't fancy or upscale and is next door to a strip club. What it is, is a great place for real good home cooking. They have plenty of breakfast options including scrapple which is hard to come by. They use brown eggs and portions to price is very generous. Definitely will be a repeat customer. read more

The good---food was really good. Wait staff was very friendly and helpful. They were very accommodating. The bad--we had never been there before and did not know Friday night's are fish/seafood only! Everything was offered Fried but they did make the shrimp and fish grilled. No where in the reviews we found said anything about "fish only" Friday night's. My friend and I eat at Izzy's quite a bit in the last 4yrs. Each time we go we get a quality breakfast or lunch at a very reasonable price. It's not the food that keeps my friend and I coming back, but it's the 2 fine waitresses Lisa & Kathy that work very hard to please their patrons with smiles and laughter. I would have only given Izzy's 3 stars, but with Lisa and Kathy there they earn the restaurant a star a piece more because of their interaction with their customers and hard work. read more
