Chorizo bowl
Tahkeisha P.

Sunday morning after grocery shopping and felt the need to eat before heading home to put the groceries. I knew everywhere would be packed, so now it's about where haven't i been in a while...Rockledge Diner. Got there around 945am and only 2 other families were dinning. Took a seat, table had just been cleaned, and Cara(sp?) was my server. I love breakfast and it dont take me long to choose. I saw the chorizo bowl and it sounded really good. Ordered a side of grits and Cara suggested cheese(cheese makes everything good) her words not mine lol, and toast. Food came out quick and hot. Fresh salsa was topped on the bowl and i could tell it was fresh by the cilantro! Chef kiss. Grits nice and cheesy. This is not my first time here, family loves when I order take out breakfast as well. Plenty of seats, very clean, and friendly staff. Thank you Cara and Rockledge Diner

Location is on Barton Blvd

Best grits I've had in Florida! Thanks for a wonderful breakfast. The sausage patties were cooked just like I make them, the omelette my husband had was filling, with everything you'd love inside. Thanks for rocking out Rockledge!

Tommy B.

Great folks and a great omelette stuffed full. Biscuit was good, great sausage gravy and the grits were perfect.

Great food and friendly staff. Standard diner selections, but done right and brought fresh and hot to your table quickly.

Love this place. It's the local hometown diner. The Sunrise breakfast is the perfect size. And the food is good...like cooking at home.

This place is pure charm from the moment you walk in--warm, welcoming, and exactly the kind of spot that makes you believe small-town gems still exist. There's a reason they were just named Best Restaurant in Rockledge... and honestly, it's about time. Now let's talk about the real stars: the ladies who run this place. Kind doesn't even cover it. Friendly, attentive, genuine--like they actually care that you're there (wild concept, right?). The service alone would have earned five stars. But here's where they went above and beyond: I lost my wallet before heading out on a cruise. Panic mode activated. Turns out, the amazing women at Whistle Stop Café found it and safely kept it for me until I returned. Everything intact. Zero drama. Just pure integrity and kindness. So yes--great food, adorable location, and well-earned local awards. But what really makes Whistle Stop Café special is the heart behind it. This place doesn't just serve meals; it restores your faith in people. Go hungry. Leave happy. And maybe double-check your pockets--but if you don't, you're in the best hands possible.

HOWEVER I am also a big believer in that fact that we all have different tastes and opinions so reviews should be taken in that context. Unfortunately I let some negative reviews keep me from trying Urban Prime. It was well worth the wait. We visited today to celebrate our 26th wedding anniversary. We went right before dinner service started so we were able to enjoy ourselves at their 'Prime Hour' with discounted appetizers and drinks. We splurged on the bourbon flight, the prime old fashioned and the blossom old fashioned- they were incredible! We shared the wedge salad - it was ginormous! We also had the mushroom Chardonnay soup- we enjoyed that so much we went over to the market to buy some to take home. Husband had the mushroom ravioli (he's pescatarian) and I had the 16oz Waygu Ribeye. I have had Waygu at other high end restaurants and felt it wasn't worth the hype... this was incredible! It cut like butter. Oh and I almost forgot we had the blue crab artichoke dip... that was easily the runner up for the best of the night. The place was decorated cutely with fun art from what I am guessing is local artists. It was definitely a vibe and the pictures on the website do not do it justice. Our server Karsyn, was great. She put up with our old people humor and treated us like we were her only patrons. We will definitely be back. We can't wait to try the sushi!

Rainey - was our good server and we even put her at ease when a former co-worker and his table of 6 plus complained about her and gave her a couple dollar tip. I let her know he was a bad person on the job so don't mind him. I actually gave her a good tip. Now, as we live in Viera and heard the rumor from servers who were mass fired. In my opinion the older manager should have been fired. He came to our table grabbed my plate to clear the table and asked. "How was everything?" As I proceeded to let him know the food wasn't that great and my burger bread was soggy, My daughter had her sushi sent back; he walked away from me in mid-sentence. Even my daughter who doesn't like conflict mentioned that I need to yelp him. Food still not that great. We actually sat at the bar for about eight minutes before the guy bartender acknowledged us and that's even after I got pissy and asked them what kind of beers they have. Oh, above that they ran out of mic ultra and brought me a Miller which I sent back.

Merritt Island Pancake House is different from a typical diner. Even though at first this looks like a low-brow diner, the special touches say a lot. They keep with the islands theme in the decor, dishes, etc. There is a whole wall with colorings from children who have dined here. There yummy dishes with lots of gluten-free options (I had GF lemon blueberry pancakes that were great). Something that impresses me is their fruit choice--blueberries, blackberries, strawberries--instead of the typical cheaper fruits. I was really glad with the eggs because they even taste better (creamier) than a typical diner egg (like possibly cage free brown). Maddie was my server and she was sweet, easygoing, and good with the menu. I'd like to bring my girls here and was glad I tried it.

The chocolate chip pancakes are a must try for chocolate lovers. The inside was huge with two areas for seating, seating outside the restaurant. There are accessible restrooms in the back. The inside was a bit chilly with the fans running, I would recommend bringing a sweater inside if you easily get cold. Overall, a great experience and I recommended checking out this spot if you have a craving for pancakes.
