I found this place searching for a vegan spot to meet a friend for lunch and it did not disappoint. The menu is small however the food packs lots of healthy flavor. The staff is great! There was a steady crowd and great local feel for the vibe. I would return for the food for sure. There is no outdoor seating and the restaurant stands alone with ample parking! They have vegan and regular options with combos at reasonable prices ..portions were large enough to have leftovers or you can choose half sandwich options! Don't miss this gem!

Peace in the Garden Cafe, 397 Barton Blvd. Rockledge, FL 32955 4- Stars The distribution of restaurants in this county is uneven. It's almost as if some cosmic restaurant emunctory spreading whale passed overhead. North County has comfort food, i.e., Southern food and donuts. South County has fine dining and charred cows. What does that leave for the good folk residing in the Central portion of our county? After my second excursion to Peace in the Garden Cafe, they have two great vegan/health food restaurants within one mile of each other. When I previously dined at Peace in the Garden Cafe, it garnered a 3-star review. This time, I found the food much improved; however, Adriana, our service member, was not good. By not good, I mean she moved at a snail's pace and seemed relatively uninterested in us, her job, the whole ordeal. In a slop house where I am one of two customers, it should take less than eight minutes for first contact (yes, I do time this). The plus side is that while awaiting first contact, I noticed an elderly gentleman well above 80 wearing a brown pompadour rug and driving a black Pontiac Firebird with a license plate that read, "Bandit." I kid you not. Ah, what's not to love about Florida? I kept a look-out for his proverbial "arm candy," but alas, I saw no such animal. I managed to finagle an order for the Tofu Ruben Wrap and a Tuna Salad Sandwich. At least the person in the kitchen was moving at the proper speed, as my food was ready in no time. If you peek at the accompanying pictures, you see everything looks fresh. In this case, looks were not deceiving. I found the Tofu Ruben Wrap to be delightful. The tofu was firm and the combined flavors, whatever they were composed of, hinted at a good deli Ruben. The blue tortilla chips on the side were fresh, warmed and crunchy, with just a hint of sea salt. Moving on to the Tuna Salad Sandwich. I would like to draw your attention to the pictures once again. Just look at how fresh that tuna appears to be. The size of the chunks is impressive and the sliced pickle was huge, fresh and crispy. This sandwich was indeed a pleasure on the palate. The Big Boy says, "Unless you live in Mims or Micco, this place is worth the drive."

Southwest Wrap

I have driven by this place a few times and finally decided to give it a try after seeing some positive reviews, and I am so happy that I did! It's been hard to find a good restaurant that understands the power of a dang vegetable. I got the Southwest wrap and it came with chips and salsa, and not just any salsa! This has to be homemade. I walked in on a whim and ordered to-go, it was ready very quickly, and in the time I was sitting there many others came to pick up orders as well. I didn't look at the breakfast menu, but an absolute must for lunch. 5 stars because the food, the price, and the service all align perfectly. There are a few seats but I did not stay to eat so this rating does not include ambiance.

Split Pea soup

First timer I had the lunch special which has several choices of half sandwiches and wraps, a cup of soup, drink and chips and salsa. I had the half shredded beef wrap, split pea soup and green tea. Delicious and just 10 bucks. All ingredients are 100 % organic and fresh. I highly recommend this place.

Vegan Breakfast Burrito

Hidden Gem It's easy to drive by this place and not look twice, but you'd really be doing yourself a disservice if you didn't stop for a bite to eat. Truly a mom & pop operation, they are incredibly kind and gracious. While the menu is short, it more than makes up for it with great flavor and preperation. I sampled the vegan breakfast burrito w/ salsa and would order again in a heartbeat.

Iced green tea and split pea soup

Always the best, nutritious meal and a chance to catch one's breath. My only weekly lunch spot.

This place is pure charm from the moment you walk in--warm, welcoming, and exactly the kind of spot that makes you believe small-town gems still exist. There's a reason they were just named Best Restaurant in Rockledge... and honestly, it's about time. Now let's talk about the real stars: the ladies who run this place. Kind doesn't even cover it. Friendly, attentive, genuine--like they actually care that you're there (wild concept, right?). The service alone would have earned five stars. But here's where they went above and beyond: I lost my wallet before heading out on a cruise. Panic mode activated. Turns out, the amazing women at Whistle Stop Café found it and safely kept it for me until I returned. Everything intact. Zero drama. Just pure integrity and kindness. So yes--great food, adorable location, and well-earned local awards. But what really makes Whistle Stop Café special is the heart behind it. This place doesn't just serve meals; it restores your faith in people. Go hungry. Leave happy. And maybe double-check your pockets--but if you don't, you're in the best hands possible.

We started with the New England Clam Chowder, and it was rich, creamy, and full of flavor -- the kind that instantly transports you straight to the coast. The calamari as an appetizer was hands down the tenderest I've ever had -- perfectly cooked, light, and addictive. The raw oyster selection was amazing--delicious, meaty, sweet, and not gritty at all. But the star of the meal was the Connecticut Lobster Roll: warm, buttery lobster piled high and paired with a refreshing tropical slaw that balanced everything beautifully. Absolute perfection. Add in a Dr Pepper oyster shooter and their signature oyster shooter, and it was a full-on flavor experience. What truly elevated the visit was Sophie, our server -- an absolute gem herself! Attentive, friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely made us feel welcome. Service like that is rare and so appreciated. This place truly earns its hidden gem title. Fresh seafood, incredible flavors, and outstanding service -- we'll definitely be back!

HOWEVER I am also a big believer in that fact that we all have different tastes and opinions so reviews should be taken in that context. Unfortunately I let some negative reviews keep me from trying Urban Prime. It was well worth the wait. We visited today to celebrate our 26th wedding anniversary. We went right before dinner service started so we were able to enjoy ourselves at their 'Prime Hour' with discounted appetizers and drinks. We splurged on the bourbon flight, the prime old fashioned and the blossom old fashioned- they were incredible! We shared the wedge salad - it was ginormous! We also had the mushroom Chardonnay soup- we enjoyed that so much we went over to the market to buy some to take home. Husband had the mushroom ravioli (he's pescatarian) and I had the 16oz Waygu Ribeye. I have had Waygu at other high end restaurants and felt it wasn't worth the hype... this was incredible! It cut like butter. Oh and I almost forgot we had the blue crab artichoke dip... that was easily the runner up for the best of the night. The place was decorated cutely with fun art from what I am guessing is local artists. It was definitely a vibe and the pictures on the website do not do it justice. Our server Karsyn, was great. She put up with our old people humor and treated us like we were her only patrons. We will definitely be back. We can't wait to try the sushi!

Rainey - was our good server and we even put her at ease when a former co-worker and his table of 6 plus complained about her and gave her a couple dollar tip. I let her know he was a bad person on the job so don't mind him. I actually gave her a good tip. Now, as we live in Viera and heard the rumor from servers who were mass fired. In my opinion the older manager should have been fired. He came to our table grabbed my plate to clear the table and asked. "How was everything?" As I proceeded to let him know the food wasn't that great and my burger bread was soggy, My daughter had her sushi sent back; he walked away from me in mid-sentence. Even my daughter who doesn't like conflict mentioned that I need to yelp him. Food still not that great. We actually sat at the bar for about eight minutes before the guy bartender acknowledged us and that's even after I got pissy and asked them what kind of beers they have. Oh, above that they ran out of mic ultra and brought me a Miller which I sent back.
