I had two eggs with corn beef hash and waitress Britney actually asked me if I wanted it crispy just the idea that she asked set me up for a great breakfast her pleasant smile and funny attitude made her service awesome. My wife had two eggs with sausage and biscuit and wow the biscuit was so homey.. so if your in the area or you driving from cruise to I95 on exit 49 it's in a small business center on the right heading south about 1 mile... I've been in search of good pancakes. My baby and I stopped by here in hopes of finding that. I ordered eggs, bacon, sausage, ham, grits, and a pancake. I ordered my daughter the kids chicken fingers and fries. The food is 7/10. Now while the food isn't bad I can't sit here and downplay it. However, for an AMAZING breakfast experience I just don't feel like this is really it. The grits weren't thick and fluffy they were somewhat watery to me. I didn't expect them to come seasoned but I don't like wet water grits. The pancakes are thin and tasted doughy-but the syrup was very bland. Like a cheap syrup. They offer daily specials. I guess they allow pets being that the table behind me had a dog inside with them. It is kid friendly. When we went it was pretty busy (Thursday afternoon). They also offer take-out. read more

This restaurant was a lovely stop for us on the way from our cruise stop back from the Bahamas. Lisa was a lovely waitress that served us as we waited for our ride back to Orlando. The food was delicious my husband had the best eggs Benedict he's had along with spud potatoes. My omelette was tasty as well. The best part was the service. The wife and I stopped for breakfast at the Cozy Corner. The Cozy Corner is breakfast and lunch place in Merritt Island. It's a much bigger place inside than it looks from the outside, even though it was crowded, there is plenty of seating. Food, service, and prices are all great. Has a local and homey type vibe, waitresses seem to know their customers, I assume because most of them are locals and come there often, but even though we were newbies there we felt very welcome. Great place if you want to get away from overpriced pretentious type restaurants. I will be back. read more

While having my car washed I decided to pop into Cozy Corner Cafe for breakfast and a coffee. I was able to seat right away, and the waitress was very friendly and offered me something to drink right away. I ordered the veggie omelet, sliced tomatoes, and English muffin. Good breakfast spot in Merritt Island. They have a lot to choose from on their menu and the prices are super reasonable. I got the House Supreme breakfast and it was plentiful. The staff was courteous and the food was cooked perfectly. That meal and a cup of coffee cost less than $10! My only knocks on the place are small, because I kept in mind that it's a diner and some of them are truly just my preference. The bacon was pretty darn thin. If you're craving hearty bacon, you'll want to look elsewhere. I love me some good bacon so this made me a little sad inside!!! I would've liked to have had some raw sugar packs for coffee (like Sugar in the Raw). They did have Splenda, Nutrasweet, and white sugar packs though. Some of the bottles on the table were a little sticky. I'm sure it was just from a syrup drive by. Rest in peace, pancake homie. read more

Lazy incompetent cooks; can't execute "the specials" properly; waste of time & money. One Special they had on the board was "tuna melt & fries" - came from server as tuna (w/ fried onions in it) and potato chips. Who puts fried onions in tuna salad? And if this is one of the specials - how could they confuse chips versus fries? Haphazard and careless cooks. Eggs Benedict had English muffins plopped onto grill vs using the toaster - so you can enjoy the taste of every greasy thing they cooked on the grill - versus tasting the eggs Benedict you ordered. Also eggs were over cooked for a Benedict (no runny yoke). Home fries is a pile of mushy potatoes that are not cooked. Crappy, careless, poor quality. never again! read more

Occasionally work nearby and a fellow yelper and friend, Britta B. and I decided to grab some lunch here. Not only those the place have great reviews, Britta indicated she had been here once and enjoyed it. So I really got to give it to the awesome service and the friendliness of the servers. Without really noticing, we arrive 15 minutes prior their closing time on a Friday. We figured it out when we saw the operating hours o the menu. Mentioned it to our server and she was ever so polite. She insisted it wasn't a big deal and guided us through their menu. This is a Brunch dinner. They basically serve breakfast all day and lunch. Close early, around 2pm. Server suggested I would try their "Fresh off the Market" fish, kind of like the "catch of the day" and I took her suggestion and ordered a Blackened Mahi sandwich. The price depends on what they paid for it at the Market. If you ask me, $8 and some change for a freshly caught Mahi, is a GREAT price. Britta had a burger with fries, my sandwich came with chips. About 10 minutes later, our food was ready and we were ready to enjoy it as well. I can't speak for Britta, but my sandwich was delicious. The Mahi was so fresh, you could tell it had never been frozen. The seasoning was perfect and my taste buds and stomach were content. After eating e quickly rushed out, after paying and tipping our server. We will definitely try it again. Finally, service was perfect, food was great, however, place could use a bit TLC and maybe it was that day, but restrooms needed a bit of attention, nothing to bad though. read more

Heinlein While admitting I have slowed the pace down a bit, I am still out here for you loyal BBDO followers (you truly are why I continue to do this). As such, I was looking forward to my next review with a deeper sense of responsibility of the Cozy Corner Cafe in Merritt Island. The drive up was, as always, gorgeous and I languidly pulled into their parking lot and moseyed on in. I was greeted cheerfully, warmly and sincerely by the owner of the place, Rob. Looking around one of the first things that caught my eye was the ample quality seating available. Grabbing a table and perusing the menu I have to say it was your traditional breakfast/brunch menu with all you would expect to find including eggs, bacon, sandwiches, pancakes, etc. Taking my time and enjoying the, dare I say, "coziness" of the place, I took a few minutes with the menu and as I wanted to get a fair sampling of their offerings and just as I was about ready to order, Jamie introduced herself as my server and asked if I was ready. Settling on lunch and some breakfast food, I ordered a Turkey Club Sandwich, two eggs with Kielbasa and a hash brown patty, a country fried steak and some blueberry pancakes. Jamie was cheerful, polite, professional, answered all my questions "honestly" (telling me what was frozen and what was fresh) and placed my meal ticket post haste. I didn't have too long of a wait before I spied Jaime returning laden with victuals fresh off the grill/toaster/griddle. Sadly, the first thing I noticed about my meal was that the turkey in the club sandwich was obviously a roll and not freshly sliced turkey. However, it was piled high and prepared perfectly so wasn't all that bad considering it was sliced/chopped/pressed and processed turkey. The chips were fresh out of the bag and while fries might have been better, was a nice compliment to the club sandwich. Next up on the eating frenzy was my order of two eggs over medium with accompanying kielbasa and hash brown patty. The chef nailed the eggs as they were the vade mecum definition of over medium, the kielbasa was huge, meaty and also cooked to perfection. Foregoing my usual preference for home fries, I instead went with their hash brown patty (ala fast food place) just to mix things up a bit. I have to say that it was cooked to a delightful outside crunchiness while retaining just the right amount of soft potato goodness on the inside. Again, this was making it obvious that whoever was operating back there knew how to execute at this level. Just looking at the country fried steak on the plate I knew it was your typical Sysco from frozen puck meat. Proving that what I've said all along is true, the human in the back smothered this affront to steaks with some of the tastiest gravy I have yet had. This was complex, rich, and hid the crappiness of the meat wonderfully. Like I've said ad nauseum, execution. It's all about execution. Refocusing my attention on the task at hand, and so as not to lick the gravy off the plate, I shifted my gaze towards the final item to be reviewed this morning, the blueberry pancakes. These were fresh, chock full of real blueberries and served with real, honest to mother nature butter. The pancakes were fluffy, light and a delight during the chewing phase. The stack was, once again, executed flawlessly. Someone(s) in the back certainly had their A-game going this day! From the initial heartfelt greeting by the owner to the warm, honest server and right down to the gravy this place has it going on. They are on the ball and prove over and over that you can do wonders with standard ingredients if you know your way around a kitchen. Kudos to the staff, the chef and to the owner, Rob for, I will say it all day, flawless execution. Came here after church and it was still not busy but if you wait too long you will have to wait. Church let out at 1015 am. Great mom and pop place with your average foods cooked nicely and served by very nice and professional staff. The breakfast breads are not home made from what I can tell. They had sweet potato pancakes and I wanted to do it but I passed and had their big break fast that has ham, sausage and bacon with eggs and home fries and your choice of biscuit or bread or 1 pancake. It's a lot of food for one person and it's under $8. My daughter loves the place and we rather come here than any other breakfast place on the island. read more
