An eclectic menu done right!…read more LongDoggers is one of those rare places with an eclectic menu where everything we've tried actually works. We've all been to restaurants with big menus that only execute one category well--or where the American food is solid but anything outside of that completely misses the mark. That hasn't been our experience here. This was our second visit. Two years ago, we happened upon LongDoggers while traveling to the drive-thru Bethlehem at Lakewood Park Church (which is phenomenal and highly recommended). Heading down again for the same event, we considered trying somewhere new, but the good memories of LongDoggers brought us right back. The atmosphere is casual with a bit of a sports-bar vibe, and the food is genuinely good. No photos this time because we were way too hungry to wait the extra five seconds , but I did grab pictures of the menu. Our table ordered the Blackened Shrimp Lettuce Tacos, a Banzai Shrimp Bowl, the Cool Ranch Chicken Sandwich, and a Buffalo Chicken Wrap. Every item was a hit. Entrées were $15 and up, especially with upgrades, and meals come with kettle chips. Service was another plus. Our waitress was friendly and attentive without hovering--prompt but not overbearing--and she shared the specials and offered recommendations. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating. We stopped in around 1:00 pm on a Saturday and were seated right away inside at a booth-style table. By the time we left, there was a clear line and a wait. If you're passing through or looking for a casual spot with a varied menu that's executed well, LongDoggers is absolutely worth the stop.

All of the servers buzzing around so busy we're all super Florida friendly and very attentive. I got a hot dog with chili and sautéed onions. The dog was great, it had a good bite and was nice and meaty. The bun was substantial to hold up to the ample toppings. I wasn't a big fan of the chili, it was too sweet. The onions didn't stand out either. I got onion garlic french fries and they were F'ing fold. C'mon long doggers cold French fries how can you drop the ball on French fries? That said it's a fun place and the actual hot dog (sausage) has potential so I'd say go try it for yourself.

Ashley's of Rockledge is located in a historic Tudor that has seen its share of businesses. Through…read morethe years its been Jack's Tavern, Cooney's Tavern, the Mad Duchess, the Loose Caboose, Sparrow Hawk and Gentleman Jim's before it becoming Ashley's in 1985. Back when it was known as Jack's in 1934, the body of Ethel Allen, a 19 year old local of the area, was found violently murdered on the shores of the nearby Indian River. She was known as a regular of Ashley's and it was one of the last places she was seen. Her killer was never caught. It is believed that Ethel's murder has resulted in ghostly activity centered around the ladies restroom. People have also reported the feeling of being pushed by an invisible force while ascending or descending the stairs. Lights have been seen flickering on and off during the night, burglar alarms go off, and glasses and dishes fall and break without cause. Employees hear whispering in the restaurant after closing and find that objects have moved when they open the next morning. I love a good ghost story so I have wanted to visit Ashley's every time I passed the exit but I was always rushing off to somewhere else. I finally got a chance to explore a bit of Rockledge this summer and fell in love with Brevard County's oldest city. I had lunch at Ashley's it was an interesting experience. The place looks worn but I guess that is part of the ambiance. There is a first and second floor to dine on. I can't say I received the warmest welcome but I settled in for lunch. Ashley's thrives on its ghost stories. The menu is filled with nods to its reputation as being haunted. Sections include sinister starters, Ashley's eternal favorites, spirits, drafts of the dead, wicked wines, ghostly pasta, slaughterhouse, killer burgers, dead man's tacos, ghoul greens, souls and stew, and death by dessert. The menu has several pages of American homestyle food and prices are reasonable. I had a serviceable patty melt with fries. Unlike the spirits of Ashley's I didn't linger long but was happy to strike it off my bucket list.

Would return and did the following evening for takeout while traveling! Great options here if…read moreyou're trying to eat on the healthier side. They have an excellent burger bowl. It was their delicious 1/2lb burger over a chopped style salad. It was very good. The buffalo wings were really good too! Would definitely choose Buffalo over the Nashville Hot. Nashville seasoning wasn't as good to me as it had more of a chili flavor style. Everyone else loved their burgers and the ambience of the restaurant. Our server was the sweetest ever! It was the lunch rush but they still found time to greet USA d make us feel welcomed. The inside is pretty awesome, everything is old school cars, logos and even the restrooms are awesomely themed and all about FORD, love it. It's a restaurant for everyone. I saw bikers, anglers, golfers, and families from all diversities. Now let's talk about the food... WOW... now my family and I just wanted to try something simple on there menu, it's a way we test out the quality of new restaurants. So we all went with burgers, I went with a Bison burger, my son being so young went with a plain cheeseburger and my wife ( well I forgot what she ordered) but I have to say, we all LOVED our burgers. My son is a picky eater and sometimes it's hard to keep him in one place to finish eating but not here. He took one bite and that's all it too, he loved it. My wife as well kept saying how delicious it was while eating it, and my bison burger was fire. We all looking forward to coming back and trying out new dishes. It's definitely a must try if you're in the area. Oh and it's priced fairly. I've been to other restaurants whose prices destroyed my experience. This places didn't make me feel that way. If your military make sure to get your discount, for some reason not all restaurants give that option which baffles my mind and I usually never go back to restaurants whose prices destroyed don't give that option. Anyways, this is a must, I promise you won't regret it.
