Went for lunch and it did get busy on this Friday. We put our order in and I was excited to try the new lunch bowls. Polynesian bowl was my choice and it was pretty good. The ahi tuna had a slight fish taste and the heat from the aioli was just about perfect. I asked for how the chef envisioned it and only one change. It has red onions and scallions. A bit over powering of all the other flavors. Also adding avocado would be a plus. The short rib tacos were very good and an ok portion. Seems like they were not as full of goodness as one would expect. The staff was kind of distracted at times and I had to request drink refills. While I like this place it is out of place in Indialantic unless the staff ups their game to match the prices. I've eaten at Boardwalk Grill twice, and unfortunately I had the same experience both times. The food is extremely over-seasoned and way too salty. There is so much seasoning and salt that I can't even taste the actual dish or the natural flavors of the ingredients. Everything is completely overpowered by the seasoning. I gave the restaurant a second chance thinking maybe my first experience was a one-time issue, but the food was just as overly seasoned and salty the second time. Good seasoning should enhance the food, not completely take over the dish. When all you can taste is salt and seasoning, it makes the food very unpleasant to eat. Going to be hard to keep coming here in the summer. We visited on an afternoon and once again were sweltering inside. What do they have against AC? The problem is the open patio door concept. It lets all the hot air in and the cool air out. The condensation is dripping off the vents and pooling on the floor. We tried outside and unfortunately the only tables they would give us as a couple were four seaters out under tiny umbrellas that do nothing to block the heat. They wouldn't let us sit under the actual patio at a larger table "just in case" a group came in. Well, no groups came but we sure sweated it out under our little umbrella. Fish and rock shrimp roll were great, regular fries great, but the upcharged truffle fries were burnt. They made a second batch to take with us... but didn't poke holes in the container so they were a soggy mess that went in the trash at home. I really did appreciate the effort and the server was so nice. But this is the second attempt to eat here. First inside where we all sweated and couldn't hear each other over broken blaring speakers and overcrowded dining area (not to mention inedible chewy snapper special), and now sweating outside with burnt truffle fries we paid extra for. It's just not fun and really starts being annoying to spend money for "upscale" dining in such poor physical conditions. I'm really hoping they get it together, but doubtful after two bad experiences in a row. Tips to owners: Expanding the patio cover. Get a door that closes. Fix the speakers inside. Wipe up the ac puddle (that won't exist if you close the patio door). And give your diners some elbow room. read more

This was the first time I went to this restaurant. I took my parents to celebrate their 40th Anniversary . The ambiance was really nice as well as the super friendly service. Being that we are all from New england, the chowder wasn't the traditional new England chowder that we are used to, however, it was very delicious and tasted more like a vegetable chowder in my opinion. We recently checked out the Boardwalk Bar & Grill, location former Wendy's, and overall had a great experience. The atmosphere is one of the biggest draws. The décor is beautiful, and the combination of indoor seating and large garage doors opening to a spacious outdoor patio creates a fun date-night vibe with excellent beach views. Be aware that the indoor dining area was so loud. We opted to dine al fresco. The drink menu is creative, but cocktails are on the pricey side at around $15+. I tried the seasonal margarita and was surprised by how small the glass was for the cost. To be fair, it was served without ice (just how I prefer it), which likely factored into the size. Even the water glasses seemed unusually small. Service was excellent across the board. The entire staff worked together seamlessly, but the true standout was Peter, the host. When seating guests, he offered a choice between tables, a thoughtful touch I watched him extend to everyone. Throughout the evening, he seemed to be everywhere at once, helping deliver drinks and desserts, checking restrooms and supplies, assisting staff, and ensuring guests were taken care of. The ultimate example of his attentiveness came when I accidentally left my purse behind while walking on the beach. Peter actually started heading toward the beach to make sure I got it back. His attitude, work ethic, and willingness to help in every area made a lasting impression. Food prices are also on the higher side. I wanted to sample a few items, so I ordered two appetizers: the mussels, which were plentiful, and the shrimp and crab cake. I'm very particular about crab cakes, and this one was excellent and highly recommended. The portions were filling, though next time I'll probably order an entrée since the pricing works out similarly. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his double stack smashburger, and we couldn't pass up dessert. The chocolate cake was enormous, incredibly moist, and absolutely delicious. Overall, Boardwalk Bar & Grill offers fantastic views, a great atmosphere, excellent service, and quality food. Just be prepared for premium pricing. The most fabulous Frutti de Mare this side of Venice and visiting that fabulous Italian city a few times of year lets me say that. I really wasn't keen on going to an expensive Melbourne restaurant in a former Burger King but I was convinced to try it. (Let's just say -nicely- folks down here are very "accepting" of what purports to be "good food.") Glad I went. The food was amazing and the service superb. As someone who travels to Italy over 30 days a year, my standards are extremely high when it comes to Italian. This was an amazing dish clearly made by people who care. Every item in it was cooked perfectly. My mouth is already watering for the next time. And it deserves one of my world class pictures of it and not this one but, I was here to eat it, not stylize and photograph it. One last thing: The experience would have been perfect if not for the flies, which makes me ask, Why no fans to at least help with that? And, this is Florida. It rains here. This little beachside bar & grill is a hidden gem!! The service was amazing ( Bryant ) took very good care of us and all of our needs. He made sure to inform us that it was a scratch kitchen, and it was just that. Everything that we had was amazing !!We started with the humus and it was delicious. (We ate it to fast to get pictures) and then for our main course we shared a 24 ounce bone in ribeye along with an extra side of Rainbow carrots and a house salad which Bryant was able to add the panko crusted goat cheese too, the food prices were definitely on the high end but there wasn't a part of our experience that was lacking. The portions are fairly large and sharing would be doable for many of the options. We especially liked the crab cakes, and the New England clam chowder. Servers were well trained and friendly. The short rib was very tender and tasty and the wagyu beef was very good. The accompaniment of fries was probably not the best choice and were not that great. While it's always nice to get recommendations when ordering, I met all of my selections with an offer for something else that after a while I found annoying. Everything from my drink to the meal. My friend said shrimp on poboy were small, over cooked & too much breading. The fish dip & truffle fries we both agreed were good. $24 for 3 scallops, ridiculous. It's a gutted old Wendy's refabricated, if you didn't know that you wouldn't be able to tell from the inside....kinda. It's a little pricey even for Beachside. I had a Pint Can of Pilsner (500 ml) and it was $8.89. They don't serve Budweiser products, I think Mich Ultra may be the only American Beer. They don't take cash. The only issue or recommendation I could make is do not go when it's cold out as the majority of the seating is outside and since they are forced to have an open large I had a great time at Boardwalk Bar & Grill overall, and the food and drinks were fantastic. I had the burger (amazing) and my wife the wagyu (just as amazing). The only little hiccup was that it was pretty chilly the night we visited. Because they've got this large sliding garage door open--since most of the seating is outdoors--some of that cold breeze blew right in and made the inside area a bit colder than we expected. Atmosphere - you're getting a nicer ambiance with good decor. Definitely doesn't feel like it used to be a Wendy's, however it's not a big restaurant so seating feels a little tight and I think a couple less tables would have made difference. Service wise, Steven was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu that helped when making our decision about the food. Wait time was good and food came out at a reasonable time. A good menu variety, definitely had a lot of interesting choices that you're not gonna find at many other restaurants. Wagyu Steak and Fries - asked for medium rare and it came out slightly overcooked, but that preference aside, seasoned well and paired with a chimichurri that could have used more lemon. American double smash burger - my father had, said it was a good burger, nothing special or to rave about. Catch of the Day, Halibut served over couscous with beet purée. Surprisingly well done pairing with the flavor profile, aside from the halibut being a little bland the couscous was the star for me. Ended up finishing it on my mom's plate. Truffle lobster crab mac - good, but also nothing special about it that would make me reorder it. Felt like the lobster and crab meat drowned a little in the mac making it almost forgettable. But if you like just mac and cheese it's a good option. Burrata - remembered liking it, but nothing that really stood out. Lamb lolis - 9/10 definitely would order again, even as a main for myself as someone who doesn't eat large portions. Loved the side of pita and tzatziki, will always be a hit for me. Lambs were season very well, but again, a little overcooked. Oysters - my first time ever having oysters and I was pleasantly surprised. Although I feel like the sauces really make or break it, would reorder. Nothing mind blowing, but it is good food regardless and nothing was bad. The overall experience was enjoyable and can't talk bad about this place. The only thing stopping me from giving this more stars is the pricing. For what you're paying I feel like the food should better to make me wanna spend a lot. I can see how people would come here for a more luxury dining experience but the bar isn't high in this area either. Still, not a bad choice for a restaurant in Melbourne. Absolutely! It was a great price for lunchtime here during the week. Yes they are open Monday and Tuesday. Make sure you change that! They have draft beers on tap. They have a full bar and a beautiful patio to sit across from the ocean that you can walk to afterwards. The prices were very moderate at least during lunchtime they averaged about $20-$25 and the burger was fabulous. The people were really happy to be here. The service was spectacular. Had a great experience dining here on the patio. We shared the truffle fries, steak bites, and the branzino which were all delicious!
