I thought the servers and hostess were very friendly.The breakfast buffet was great, of course, any breakfast buffet with smoked salmon gets an A+ from me. I did have to watch one of the severs( young man) practice his, possibly kung fu in front of the buffet for a full minute which was entertaining and peculiar. But, they offer omeletes. read more

However, the apotheosis I achieved at Norman's was clearly not going to be duplicated at Rustic inside the Rialto Hilton in Melbourne, Florida. Our server, Karen is the type of grizzled, battle hardened server I greatly enjoy. She stood up to the task and then some. The dining room itself is a high ceiling glass walled open seating with a nice view of the fountains surrounding the restaurant in decorative fashion. The food was a mixed bag of average to bad. Ultimately, leaving me $70.00 poorer and hungry because multiple items were inedible. You can look at the picture and see burnt toast, dry over cooked hash browns, way overdone eggs and a steak. Amazingly, the steak was seasoned and cooked to the proper temperature. This was not the Sysco breakfast steak most places slough off on you. The steak is what earned them the extra star. Without the steak Rustic would have made the Top 5 worst list. Rustic is far from its name and an easy place to skip over. Big Boy says pass it by. read more

Food & Service really good but a little slow. One waitress on a Monday night. Not a lot of people though. Wasn't fully aware of where it was located but after I bought the Groupon I mapped it and realized it was in a hotel. To me that was a little odd. Very pretty property but not as intimate as other restaurants. Still worth a try though. Maybe a different vibe on a Fri/Sat. Stuffed chicken was so good! Nice wine selection too. I would love to give this place a better review but the service was so slow I can't live with taking away a star for every half hour I had to wait to get my food. Man. Let me start by saying that the bread is exceptionally outstanding. I just so happened to check yelp and see someone say to ask for warm bread and I'm glad I did. It kept me from starving to death during my long hopeless wait for my meal. I Should be listened to the warning I re river from an exiting customer advising she waited 2 hours to eat. I had a great breakfast here. They have a breakfast Buffett, but I opted for ordering off the menu. I had an egg white omelette filled with ham, onions and mushrooms. It came with toast and their version of hash browns. The hash browns were delicious and had a mix with quinoa and kale added in. My omelette was great too. I used to come in when it was Lafitte's, since it was one of the best places to get my NOLA Creole fix. The etouffee there was great, and I was told that you can still order it. We went in and had an amazing ultra thin crust pizza where we built our own with shrimp, mushroom, spinach, cheese, with the garlic infused olive oil. AMAZING! The one shrimp on each slice was one GIANT and was very juicy and not dried out at all, like on many pizzas with shrimp. The atmosphere did not change much from Lafitte's other than some of the art on the walls was different, as well as maybe a new paint on the walls. Still the nice relaxed and upscale feel as the old. When in need for a great thin crust with great toppings, RUSTIC will be our go-to place. :) read more

We celebrated our anniversary with our family of six and we were very happy with the experience. We all had the prime rib "Saturday Night Special". The meal was prepared perfectly, and the service by Stephani was outstanding. She kept our glasses full and was most efficient in serving and clearing plates as needed. This was our first visit to Rustic (inside the Hilton). I found a Groupon and figured we would try it. I ordered lemon & olive chicken my husband got the shrimp jambalaya & my daughter ordered a flat bread pizza. The waitress was not Overly friendly but not terrible. It was a Tuesday night and empty, But We waited quite a while for our food. They brought mine & hubby's but she told us they had burnt the pizza so she had them remake it. My chicken was so dry it was hard to cut, I ate 2 bites & left the rest. Green beans were like rubber. The rice was ok. It was a mixture of brown rice & quinoa. My husband said his was ok. The jambalaya tasted like it was out of a box, but it came with 5 perfectly cooked humongous shrimp. He was almost done when they finale brought our the pizza. It was average as well. The waitress comped our entire meal which was very nice of her. So we didn't end up using our Groupon, but i an not sure we will. I want to rate the Bar Service separately from the inside sit down restaurant service. At the bar is where to get your dinner, I rate the customer service there a "Five". They are courteous, knowledgeable, accommodating towards dietary restrictions, and ensure your dinner & drinks are exactly what you order. Now, inside the restaurant is another story. They are slow, ignoring people entirely, even when at 10% capacity for breakfast. I have heard waitstaff argue with each other loudly enough for all to hear, complain about tips, lie to patrons about not carrying certain items...which I know they do, IE: Sriracha hot sauce, as I stay at the Hilton (attached to the restaurant) a few times per month. I was a bartender/waitress/manager in my previous career, and customer service is important. At best, you would think they would at least remember me, as I tip 25% on my tab. Maybe this review will cause them to remember me? (Or spit in my food). I will let you all know. read more

We arrived at about 4:30pm on Saturday. Although the main restaurant was closed until 5pm, we decided to eat at the bar. The bar area was totally empty except for two women sitting at a small table. We are new Melbourne residents and wanted to try this place. I ordered the pot roast. The flavor was okay and the beef tender. However the vegetables were about 90% uncooked. The rutabagas and carrots were very crunchy and difficult to chew. When the server/bar tender later came by to ask how everything was, I explained that may vegetables were undercooked and crunchy. She only said that's interesting. My wife is a chef and she knows that you don't serve crunchy vegetables with a pot roast, a simple dish to make even for a teenager. Therefore, based upon the quality of the food and the apparent lack of training for the server, we are not likely to return to this restaurant. read more

Came here with friends last night for dinner. I had heard great things from them and others so I was really looking forward to the experience. DISAPPOINTMENT would be a great understatement. We waited almost an hour and a half for their prime rib special which was supposed to be made to order with veggies. The best I can say is that the plate it was served on was nice. The meal arrived at the table cold, au jus warm, potatoes cold, asparagus over cooked or microwave looking. When we questioned the meal, it was responded to with multiple EXCUSES versus just getting management involved. Finally we had the opportunity just to request management. He was apologetic and provided a solution but by that time I was irritated so I declined the offer. Although it was not the servers fault, they really need to be better trained in problem resolution before throwing every excuse in the book as "reasons" for not providing a great dining experience. My husband & I celebrated our Anniversary there, just the two of us and it was one of the best meals I've had since living here in Melbourne for the last year. The food was amazing & the service was amazing. They have a romantic setting & I'm sure the scenery during the day is great as well. Our server, Alyssa went out of her way to make everything special. Food that's expensive and hit-or-miss. Your meal starts with a Bread Basket that's always loaded with deliciously soft and fresh bread. But from there the meal becomes unpredictable. The fish we ordered on our most recent visit was tasty but the sauce and angel hair pasta it sat upon was quite bland. The chicken we ordered was dry but pretty flavorful. I have eaten here twice; once for lunch and dinner...both within the past 6 months. American faire. Service is very friendly, menu is diverse and the food tastes delicious. Better than most other hotels I've been at. We had a lunch special turkey sandwich with soup and fantastic sweet potato fries. I've also ordered the thin-crust spinach and gruyere/fontina cheese pizza from room service. Plentiful quantity and quick service. The dining experience is upscale compared to other hotels and even better then some Hiltons! You may dine inside, outside on a beautiful terrace or even take food to-go. I'd come home here to eat as I work locally...and not just while I stay overnight. The bar staff is extremely friendly also. I always feel at home. The only reason it is not 5/5 stars is because we had to ask for water and one side dish was missing from our order. Definitely worth trying. read more

This is the Hilton Rialto restaurant. Eaten here twice. Acceptable for a hotel restaurant, but only that. Small bar area where service was good, and provided good recommendations. The main seating area is very slow. Inexcusably slow. Food was mediocre. I try to find other options when I'm staying here but will grab a bite if I need to. read more

This was by far the worst service I've ever experienced. We came in for dinner at around 6:20 and we were one of maybe 4 tables. We ordered drinks right away and our food shortly afterward. Our food took about 45 minutes which wouldn't be horrible except for the fact that our drinks came out a few minutes before our food did only after reminding the waitress that we were waiting on them. After we were done eating, it took one of three waitresses that were working, 40 minutes to come check on us. It got a little busier by this point. We ordered dessert (cheesecake that came out frozen) and a bottle of wine that we ended up having to take with us. Fortunately we had a coupon. Unfortunately, they gave some bogus excuse as to why they couldn't validate it off of my smart phone which led to us having to go to the hotel computer to print out the coupon. After all this, they added their own gratuity. Overall this experience took close to 2 hours. I know I'm on vacation... But damn! read more

Convenient if staying at the Hilton or near the airport. The Caesar dressing was good yet the salad was sparse in content. I ordered the wings which was not a good choice. Undercooked and smothered in the Rustic sauce. I recommend sauce on the side for sure. SERVICE IS SLOW! Very! I didn't have anywhere to go but back to my room but if pressed for time... BEWARE! Again service is slow. I tried to redeem the free wine from YELP and there seemed to be ALOT of confusion about it. Lastly, no refill and all I had was water. Imagine being in charge of a restaurant and they allow you to do WHATEVER YOU WANT. What would you do? Well, if you were a NARCISSIST WITH NO TASTE the result would be "Rustic" on the 1st floor of the Melbourne Hilton. Every dish (I ate there 5 times) was a WEIRD DISASTER. The meal planner seems to be focused on a goal of taking what you expect and twisting it into some bizarre travesty. Do you have an insane relative that mixes strange ingredients and decorates like she's blind? Then you'll know what to expect. About the only impressive thing about this place is the price - as in WAY TOO HIGH (definitely not worth it). Unfortunately if you're staying at the Hilton it's about the only choice unless you want to drive or Uber. Nearby is a Wendy's and a Long John Silvers which frankly will give you better food, regardless of price, than this place. It's a rare thing to have a hotel restaurant so LOUSY that I'd base my lodging decision on it, but the Melbourne Hilton's restaurant is so bad I'd recommend other arrangements for a room.
