If I could add a half star, I'd give them a 3 1/2. The server was very attentive and the staff friendly and kind. The food was good, the restaurant was very clean and the options were versatile. They accommodated special requests.

While on vacation with family, I have eaten breakfast here 4 times. Each time, we were treated well and even had the same server, who was amazing. The food was very good and great value. Will definitely be back next time I'm down in Florida!

Apollo diner is always delicious. We've dined in and done take out on many occasions. Never disappointed. This visit was a quick breakfast stop with my son after an errand filled morning. Great service, casual atmosphere, and yummy food = happy Mom and kid!

Apollo Diner, 201 West Hibiscus Boulevard, Melbourne, FL - 1/2-Star Swill Alert! This is my second Swill Alert in a month. If the food in Brevard doesn't start getting better, I'm going to end up with self-inflicted alopecia from pulling out clumps of my hair. Come on, Melbourne. How sad is it when I must state that I found food so inedible that the restaurant deserved zero stars. Luckily for the Apollo Diner in Melbourne, I'm awarding it 1/2 a star despite its terrible fare. This is solely because of Bonita, our awesome server, who is always so charming and accommodating. A little history: I have many fond childhood memories of family dinners in this building where I've been coming in to eat for over 50 years. As a kid, my family used to come in once a week for delicious BBQ at what was a Fat Boys over 30 years ago. Later, this place became a Jimmie Joes before going Greek. A couple of decades ago, the original owners of the Apollo Diner ran a great little restaurant out of here. Then they sold it and the food quality plummeted. Every new owner of the Apollo Diner--and this is the fourth--has kept the same name and attempted to jazz up the décor, but the food has never been the same. Over five years ago, I came in to review this joint under the second owner and ended up getting up and leaving without eating because the service was so bad (my waitress decided to hang out and chat with her boyfriend for over half an hour rather than put in my order). Over three years ago, I came back in under the third owner and even enjoyed some decently prepared bacon and eggs, which was served with a smile by the abovementioned Bonita, giving it a full three stars. This was back in 2019. However, six months ago, a fourth owner took over. They took out the food trough and got rid of the sleepwalking wait staff. To their credit, they kept Bonita. So, what's wrong with the food? Could it be that an Egyptian family (at least I was told they were Egyptian, but online they say they offer a weekend Turkish BBQ) shouldn't make Greek food? At the old San Remo Restaurant on US-1 in Melbourne now a Greek family serves both Italian and Arabic food and both suck. Just saying. I ordered the Greek Skillet and the Apollo "Plater," which I assume was supposed to be "Platter." It always worries when me when a restaurant can't correctly spell the items on its menu. Or when it brags on Facebook that it has a live "Billie" (belly?) dancer on Friday nights. The long and short of it is this: The fourth owner is not the charm. The swill served here was inedible. You want tasty Greek cuisine? Why not try the Olympia Café on US-1 in Melbourne, where Teddy the Greek has been serving the real thing to Brevardians for forty years. The Big Boy says, "Skip the Apollo Diner. I never thought the food could get worse here, but it did.

DELICIOUS breakfast!! Staying in Melbourne for spring break and we've gone here every morning for breakfast. It's about a 10 minute walk from the Hilton Melbourne hotel. Staff is super nice and friendly, made us feel very welcome. Would definitely recommend.

Over the previous 25 years, his claim to fame, his master work, and dubious distinction was earned by way of delivering the second worst breakfast in Brevard County. Thankfully, very little is left, which might serve to harken my mind back to the previous, disagreeable keeper of this establishment. I am glad to report that here in the present, the new owner offers what I can comfortably describe as awesome cuisine. Side Note: After this review I witnessed the aforementioned guy at the flea market selling his horrid food. My sentiments were most certainly bolstered by our server, Rhonda. She is absolutely a second quarter, qualified service finalist. She is most affable, exudes an exceedingly happy disposition and is just super friendly. She knows the menu well and preserves the diner's atmosphere, much like a lady tasked with protecting a zenana. My order consisted of two eggs, over medium, home fries, a biscuit, and kielbasa. It's worthy of note that all these items were adequately prepared and well-seasoned. The Kielbasa was great! The Gyro sandwich, while not prepared via a gyro spit, is nonetheless and likewise not meat of the frozen strips' variety, reminiscent of disgusting fare produced by unauthentic cheaters, as seen in the likes of Pat's Place (Eau Galle Blvd). This is a most satisfying and hearty breakfast, cooked well. Big Boy Says, "There is a lot worse out there. Rhonda is worth the price of admission."

We sat and had our drink order taken. We ordered a chicken gyro and a "famous" gyro. The salad was good but the dressing was not Greek. Olive and raspberry gave it a pink color. Interesting but not what one would expect. Chicken gyro was flavorful and a good portion. The fries that came with my gyro were the start to be honest. Hot and crispy. The famous gyro meat as off slightly. I did not see the rotating spit of meat and it seems like the meat was out of a bag. Just my gut feeling. Flavor was pretty good but it borderline greasy from the chef putting it on the flattop to warm it. As a result no char on it that I am used to getting on meat of a spit in a gyro. The floor was great and a person not solid on their feet could slip. I mentioned it to the staff and they said " we have an open kitchen so we track grease into the dining area". All I can say is wrong answer. That earned the three star review. Not the best Greek in the area but their menu has some interesting items worth the trip back to try.

It was inspired by the experience of coming upon and through the components of a Greek village and eventually making it into the big city of Athens. You can definitely feel that, but especially in the evening. The quality of the food and the space in which it is prepared and served in, are now commensurate. If you liked their family recipes from the original Old Olive Tree sit-down restaurant in Long Island, which were tweaked only slightly for the fast-casual The Avenue Viera location in Florida - then you should love how their new executive chef - Chef Andres, and his team, with their new equipment, have refined them with the family even more. Old favorites, and new dishes coming soon. The Beer & Wine of their original location has expanded into a full bar with robust beer & wine options. And...when the fine-dining restaurant opens upstairs, that will be next level - as the chef consultant from Greece has a 2* Michelin pedigree and Chef Andres (who also has a DC Michelin-level pedigree) studied with him in Athens last year to develop the new menu. I've been blessed to work on projects with Michelin chefs, we are very lucky to have that level of talent in Brevard again. The mixologist Tori has been concocting some amazing creations and sourcing brilliant spirits from Greece to build them. I can see drinks on the lawn being a popular thing there. It has its own 'entrance' so will be perfect for private events as well. And there will be the Greek bakaliko Market too - with beautiful products sourced from the familial homeland. Viera is lucky to have this and other new venues. For years we have come from Beachside south, and I know people that make the drive from south of Palm Bay and Vero Beach. To the north, from Titusville. Prices have always been fair for the quality of ingredients and the portions. I have never walked away hungry, ever. I personally am not bothered by the card processing fees if I choose to use a card. These card processing fees are exorbitant to the merchant, and although they too do not like them, they are to be expected nowadays to be passed on. Some of the POS systems embed them in your bill and others line-item them. This new system is line-iteming them, so I don't fault the restaurant for that. I am willing to pay a little extra for an outside seat and a pleasant space, as opposed to being claustrophobic. And the service? The staff has been increased greatly with additional front-of-house staff being added into the mix. We are always greeted by name when we go, and if it's someone we don't know, we are greeted with a smile. You can tell that the staff love their new environs. Robots speaking Greek with English translations replaced runners - and the runners were then retrained as attendants in the dining room, counter and expo. Total upgrade for everyone. It's quite pleasant having a dining attendant as opposed to a server. They never made you feel rushed but always made sure discreetly that you had what you needed. Very interesting way to reinvent fast-casual! If you don't enjoy the place, even just nursing a frappe and eating your way through layers of baklava, or you're enjoying one of Tori's cocktails with some delicious mezethes - you are really missing out! Kali Orexi!

I paid over $18 for a Shish Kafta sandwich that was basically all bread and garnish. I'm not exaggerating--there was barely a morsel of meat in every bite. It felt like a total rip-off!!! As someone who has worked in Middle Eastern kitchens for years, this was a massive letdown. Red flags from the start: the waitress claimed Shish Taouk (tawook) is the "fastest" item (proper chicken takes time!), and the cook wasn't even middle eastern and clearly had no idea what he was doing. The Tabbouli arrived dry and unseasoned, no lemon juice or even wedges??? I ordered the Shish Kafta ($18+), and it was an embarrassment. There was so little meat it was practically a salad wrap. When you pay nearly $20 for a sandwich, you expect a proper protein portion, not a "hint" of Kafta. No lemon, no napkins, no utensils, no attention to detail. This place relies on the name of the food without understanding the food combining principles of the recipe. Check your bag before you leave, or better yet, go elsewhere. The only thing that seemed authentic about this place is that the owner is arabic.
