Our 1st experience with mediterranean food and we are impressed. Fresh made to order and seasoned well. service was awesome with friendly staff. We will be back Clean dining area and kitchen.

Chicken shawarma: tender chicken thigh cooked on the spit plus pickled cucumbers. Delicious and plentiful toum to dip.

4.5 Stars -- Where has this little gem been hiding from me? I'm bummed I only just found it today when it's been serving Brevard for three years! Boyfriend and I had an outrageously good lunch this afternoon. One chicken shawarma wrap, one lamb gyro, a large side of fries, an appetizer of hummus with pita, and two bottled sodas + tip was less than $50 and boy was it worth every penny. Small but quaint place with a pleasant and nicely-decorated/well-lit atmosphere, clean tables, a little storefront of Middle Eastern goodies, and friendly welcoming staff. It's definitely more of a take-out vibe but dining in worked for us just fine. Ordering and paying first at the counter, you pick up your food when your buzzer goes off. It's served on trays and plastic plates so it's definitely casual, but that helps with cost. You can help yourself to as many napkins/straws/plastic utensils that you need. The salt and pepper on the tables are purely decorative as the food is PACKED with flavor. My shawarma had that distinct underlying cinnamon note that I love and expect and it was so tender and juicy. The gyro was bursting with fresh veggies and feta and dressed with an extremely herbaceous tzatziki. Hummus came fully loaded with olives, pickled cabbage, tomatoes, fresh parsley, oil and sumac. Even the fries were seasoned to perfection, and battered the way I like them. Portions were HUGE. The only downside was that only canned or bottled drinks were offered, and the seasoning (plus the heat from the table hot sauce) made me very thirsty and a small bottled soft drink wasn't enough. So unfortunately I had to pay separately for two waters (however this led me to purchase a post-meal pistachio baklava that was the best I've ever had in my life). They could definitely benefit from a self-service soft drink dispenser, or maybe free glasses/carafes of water. Their food is so great, I bet if they started making in-house drinks like teas, etc. that they'd make a killing from that alone. As this place is about five miles from where we work, we will definitely be returning! And SOON!

My husband and I stopped here for a late lunch last week. I have heard so many great things and couldn't wait to try. I got the gyro platter with fries and my husband got the chicken kabobs with rice and Baba ghanoush so I could try that and the hummus :) The man behind the counter was very friendly and told us it would be about 10-15 minute wait. It was well worth it! Everything was so flavorful! The garlic dip that came on the side was so good we were dipping everything it. The Baba ghanoush was so Smokey and delicious. I don't know what it is about the French fries but they are the crunchiest best fries I have ever had. You can tell they cook them to order. Very generous portions but it was so good we finished all of it. I wish it was closer to me but I will definitely be making the drive to come back! By the time I got around to this review I have already been back It is my new pregnancy craving and if I lived closer I would be there every day!

Friendly staff. Warm dining area but clean. The food is the star, usually We had a chicken gyro sandwich and it was large and flavorful. The lamb gyro platter is a large portion as a wide variety. BUT IT IS NOT A SANDWICH. The spicy feta appetizer last time was good. So we tried the hummus. Flavor ok. But a bit runny. Maybe that is authentic but in my experience it wa a bit too runny. But the food is great. Check them out.

I love this place. Wish it were closer to home. Atmosphere is basic counter service, clean but nothing fancy. The service is super friendly. Where you take your order, you can see the grill/kitchen as they prepare your food. Food is outstanding and one of my favorites for Brevard county. As far as Middle Eastern/ Mediterranean food goes. I have tasted and highly recommend: beef and chicken kabobs, chickens shawarma or Kafka I forget which, gyro lamb, rice, fries, and baklava. They also have a small section of prepackaged Middle Eastern cookies and chilled yogurt drinks. Overall, whenever we're in the immediate vicinity, we make excuses to grab food here. Give it a try!

Decided to try something new in Melbourne today that wasn't too expensive. Stopped at Al Baik Kabob House for some gyros and baklava (pistachio). Its a small restaurant in a shopping center. It doesn't look like much but in my opinion sometimes these are the best places to eat at. We are greeted kindly by two persons. The menu is on a screen next to the counter. Decently priced, they have baklava made by their mom. Delicious I might add Definitely worth checking out. Again, nothing fancy, small but home made feel.

Stopped by the other day for lunch. I was warmly greeted by the staff and my order was taken promptly. I ordered a lamb kabob sandwich and a diet coke. After a short wait my meal was delivered to my table. It looked and smelled delicious. The tahini inside was especially flavorful and complimented the lamb greatly. The Flatbread was grilled so crispy which made every juicy bite a pleasure. I would highly suggest you try lunch or dinner here.

Al Baik popped up on my "Hot New" trending restaurants list, so I had to give it a go. My visit was around lunchtime hours. It was busy, but business was steady for a small two person operation. I ordered the chicken gyro plate. I think it took about 25 minutes for it to come out. I was a bit taken back when it did because I thought I was getting a normal gyro pita sandwich but actually got chopped up meat laid on top of fries, four small pita triangle slices, hummus, and a salad. Now, don't get me wrong, it was still good, just not what I was expecting. They only have a few tables inside and a couple outside. I chose to sit outside since the weather was nice and the sitting area was shaded. Two things that threw me off were the time it took to get my food and what I actually got. Though it was good, I went with it because I didn't want to wait a long time to get weft I actually wanted. I may return but after I try a few other similar restaurants to compare.

Fresh ingredients. Nice portions. The hummus needed more flavor. Their house made dressing was really good. The tzatziki was just okay. I enjoyed the rice & falafels. Service was welcoming. Food does take a while. If I order again, I'll order ahead.

I paid over $18 for a Shish Kafta sandwich that was basically all bread and garnish. I'm not exaggerating--there was barely a morsel of meat in every bite. It felt like a total rip-off!!! As someone who has worked in Middle Eastern kitchens for years, this was a massive letdown. Red flags from the start: the waitress claimed Shish Taouk (tawook) is the "fastest" item (proper chicken takes time!), and the cook wasn't even middle eastern and clearly had no idea what he was doing. The Tabbouli arrived dry and unseasoned, no lemon juice or even wedges??? I ordered the Shish Kafta ($18+), and it was an embarrassment. There was so little meat it was practically a salad wrap. When you pay nearly $20 for a sandwich, you expect a proper protein portion, not a "hint" of Kafta. No lemon, no napkins, no utensils, no attention to detail. This place relies on the name of the food without understanding the food combining principles of the recipe. Check your bag before you leave, or better yet, go elsewhere. The only thing that seemed authentic about this place is that the owner is arabic.

**INITIAL REVIEW** I…read moream currently on a Greek/Mediterranean food kick after eating it, which was fantastically made and indulged in, when I was at the Sponge Docks in Tarpon Springs, FL. To my delight, Melbourne Main Street a.k.a. Historic Downtown Melbourne finally had such food added to its food scene when Aya Mediterranean Cuisine (which I will shorthand simply to Aya for the remainder of this review) opened up. Eventually, I got to try Aya out albeit their lunch menu initially. What I got was a fantastic meal in which I long to try more of their fare. Aya is located on the northern side of New Haven Blvd. in Historic Downtown Melbourne. It is the last business on the west side of the train tracks, which used to be Continental Flambe if anyone remembers that. I went in at the latter end of Aya's lunch hours as they close around 2 p.m. to prepare for the dinner rush. The decor looks more like a rustic upscale tavern flanked by fine dining decor, both from the 1980s. Aya was clean with the space optimized to fit the most patrons during a rush, but the restaurant does need some TLC. Almost all the ceiling's tiles had water damage and the carpet was frayed. Not sure if this is something Aya can fix or if the landlord of the building is blocking them from doing renovations, but it is noticeable. To keep things simple, I ordered the Gyro Wrap ($13.99), which was seasoned beef and lamb with feta cheese, onions, lettuce, tomatoes and tzatziki sauce. Side options can be more traditional sit-down with rice or a salad (I assume it is a feta salad), but more of the "fast food" route with fries. I like how they deconstructed the wrap with the slices of beef and lamb, veggies, and sauce being separate, but assembled with pita cut into corners/chips. Yet, all the lamb and beef are on top of one small pita so you can add the veggies and sauce. And if you ordered fries, you can add them in too for the "food truck" experience. Not sure if Aya will allow you to use ketchup on a gyro wrap though. On a sidenote, there was a back "bar" area where alcoholic beverages are sold, and the restrooms - at least the men's restroom - was clean. Ultimately, Aya blends class with a family-feeling when eating at their restaurant. They even give more specification to their food as the generalization may be Greek/Mediterranean, but they have specialization in Lebanese and Moroccan cuisine, something I am sure the family whom owns it, spearheaded by the owner and chef Ziad Aseid, envisioned when they opened this restaurant. Despite the visual issues I found with the restaurant itself, Aya is a solid four-out-of-five stars for their initial review. If they are consistent with their food and service, I will give them their fifth star for consistency in an updated review.

With multiple dining options at this shopping plaza, that is to be expected. Fortunately, a few cars pulled out as I was pulling in, so I got lucky. Walking in, the place is definitely a no-frills type restaurant. There is nothing wrong with that. There is nothing fancy about a gyro. I ordered at the counter and as I was paying with my credit card, the woman pointedly told me that there was a tipping option. Also, be advised that they do charge three and a half percent more if you use a credit card. I went with a special gyro combination, which consisted of a gyro, a side (I went with French fries), and a drink. It was about fifteen dollars after tax. A bit steep, but it is what it is. My food came out in a somewhat slower pace, but it was the height of lunch hour. The gyro was not as filled as I would have liked (especially at fifteen dollars). The French fries were your standard frozen fries bought out of a restaurant supply store. My meal was okay, but nothing overly remarkable. I am torn between giving Gyros & More II either three stars or four stars. It wasn't bad, but it was a bit expensive and I would have liked to have had a bit more meat in the gyro. But still, it was a decent enough lunch. It was also obvious that Gyros & More II was popular. It was pretty crowded when I was there. I guess ultimately I will up it to four stars (though I wish I could give it a three and a half star rating). Oh well, four stars it shall be. If you are in the area and craving a gyro, Gyros & More II offers a decent enough gyro for a bit higher than I think that you should pay, but everything has gone up in price.
