Finding it nearly impossible to find decent Greek fare here. The reviews are quite good & Pat's Place was recommended to me by friends, so I finally stopped by. Ordered a "chicken" gyro that was completely inedible until I removed the "chicken". It's a fully processed, institutionalized looking "loaf" that you can apparently order online for about $80 for 10 pounds. This just doesn't make sense to me...it's clearly more expensive than real chicken, so I checked older reviews to see if it's just something new they have been passing off as chicken, and it's mentioned in a few of the older ones as well. Restaurant is Clean, prices certainly FAIR in this economy, but I would absolutely be willing to shell out even $5 more for some semblance of real chicken. Couldn't eat this. Very steady stream of customers and the owners seem friendly which is why I'm going with 2 stars. Maybe their pizza is better? read more

My friend recommended pats place. He said all the food was delicious. We went last night, and tried 3 items and they were all excellent. The lamb gyro, the spanokita, and the split pea soup. I have eaten here before. First time I had a bad Gyro. Was drowning in sauce, bread was burnt on the bottom. Guess it all depends on who is cooking the food. Still not a bad place to grab a quick bite, however if just the kids are there better to wait for the adults to be there. read more

I used to think they had the best gyro. The last time I got it I was disappointed and I figured everyone can have an off day.... this time was a bit worse. The pita seemed like an attempt at being revived as well as the bit of meat. The onions were old, I could go on but you get it, the salad etc., nothing tasted fresh. Pat's Place - Melbourne Beachside - 1 Star. Fraud by any other name is.......well......fraud. There is no reason to engage in disingenuous behavior when you can only fool some of the people all of the time. I stopped here to get some "authentic" Greek food. I truly love Greek food. In fact there are two real Greeks within 2 miles of Pat's. Sadly, this Pat is named Patricia or who even knows because the fetid stench of her lies is layered so deep, I think she may have even lied about that. I asked about the gyro. She said it was fresh cut. I said if so, where is the spit? She replied, well the health department frowns on them, so she cuts it in the back to order. I immediately felt red flags in my stomach but I figured hey, it will be blatantly obvious if she is lying. She went on and on about how fresh her food is. I decided to add an order of "home cooked" Spanakopita. When the food arrived I tasted the spanakopita. It was flaccid, refrigerator burned spinach that tasted so bad I had to spit it out. It seemed like it had been sitting in the fridge for weeks and I was the fly finally caught in the spider's web. Now, for the big moment. I bit into the gyro and knew Pat was a liar. You can see from the attached photo, this gyro meat is the frozen pre-cut slices sold by Sysco and Cheney Brothers. To my surprise, when confronted with the discrepancy, Pat began a tale I have heard from many a sociopath. Ohhhhh I am not lying, it's you who is mistaken. This was a low rent version of the cook up the street who tried to convince me a sirloin breakfast steak was filet. The difference is, instead of threatening to kill me, "Pat" took the manipulative approach. Far be it from me, I went to two different Greek restaurants and showed them the photo. At the first restaurant the owner chuckled when I showed him the photo. He said that's frozen strips of gyro. He asked where I got it. I refused to tell him. The same line ended the same at the second restaurant, except that there was an owner of a third restaurant who also confirmed the pre-frozen, pre-sliced nature of the gyro. So the Big Boy says avoid the lying liar at Pats and go to an authentic Greek restaurant if you want real gyro because the food here in my humble opinion is disgusting. read more

Great, friendly owners. Very clean, fast and efficient for lunch. Reasonably priced. Had the Gyro a few times, pretty good. Italian sub was good, everything was fresh. Can EASILY get in and out under 15 bucks or so and quickly. So far, everything tried has been good, fresh, and reasonable. Gyro isn't "fresh cut" off a spinner; but meat is good, well seasoned, and the Tz sauce is good. GREAT place for a quick, clean, and good lunch. Pat's Place - Good for Greek Specialties and Pizza, too My husband & I visited Pat's Place for the first time for lunch today. It is conveniently located in a busy strip mall. Don't let its storefront location food you. There is good food inside at fair prices. We only found out about this eatery when the restaurant offered a Groupon. We decided to try it since I enjoy Greek food. Several tables were already occupied when we arrived just at noon. We ordered our meal at the counter and then chose a table. Within a very reasonable amount of time, Patti brought our food. She forgot our drinks but my husband figured it would be faster if he just went back for them. The food was good. Portions were generous. I had the Gyro with a side of Greek Salad, $9.50. Both dishes were tasty. Salad was quite fresh with crispy lettuce, cucumber onions, olives, peppers and feta cheese. The Gyro had plenty of meat, generous slices of bright red tomato, lettuce and a Pepperoncini which was a little too spicy for my tastes.. The Tzasiki sauce was delicious and the pita was warm. My husband enjoyed his Veggie Pita with lettuce, tomato, cucumber, green pepper and onions. His also had Tzasiki sauce. We both thought that the prices were good but even more so with the Groupion. We will be back again even without the Groupon. I want to have the Spanakopita, $4.95 next time. I should have taken an order of it home with me but I did want to do some shopping before heading home. If I lived in the area I would be here 3 times a week. Friendly staff, fast service. Order at counter, table delivery. Layout is like a small pizza place. Counter straight ahead, about 8 booths and a couple of tables. I had a "small" Greek salad...larger than most places serve as "large"...and it was fantastic, fresh and well put together, served with the 3 dolmades I order around the side of the plate. Ordered two regular gyros and one chicken gyro. Positive-fantastic, wonderful,and nice people. I would go back just for the service and the people. Great tasting traditional gyro meat Negative-the nasty, sloppy tzatziki/ onion slaw! Who the eff does that!! Normally it's made out of fresh chicken thighs and chicken breast layered on a spit with seasoning...this was not. In a strange way I liked it, but I was drunk...this place is the "Subway" of Greek food. Thankfully the Greek Jared wasn't there. No fries!? Who the hell serves Kabbab without fries?!!! The chicken on the chicken gyro looked weird kind like soggy freezer chicken, there was no feta on the gyro either.The tziki sauce was just mayonnaise and lettuce. I had some of the hummus which was tasty. We also got a white pizza. It was ok nothing to write home about. Plus it was really small and cost 14.00 so I was expecting delicious. The crust had no flavor and a weird texture. They also forgot to give me my sweet tea. I will never go back there what a waste. I would choose Jimmy's over this any day. My first Greek experience. Food - 3 stars I preferred the lamb gyro over the chicken one. The seasoning in the lamb gyro was good. The chicken one didn't have much flavor. I really don't like the taste of Tzasiki sauce but it wasn't bad. The pita bread was good too. Service - 5 stars Service was excellent. Store - 3 stars The store is outdated but clean.
