I had been hunting a good Detroit style pizza with that lovely caramelized/burnt brick cheese for a minute and didn't want to drive back to Orlando for it - reviews showed that Genna was worth a try and they were bang on. I got pepperoni, Chicago sausage, mushroom, and onion and a side of garlic knots with Alfredo sauce. Perfectly cooked, PLENTY of toppings, cut into four HUGE slices. Needed a bigger knife to cut the thing. Service was very kind and friendly, attentive and efficient. My tea never even got halfway empty before she was refilling. Genna was incredibly busy when we arrived on a Friday evening, but everyone was very courteous and helpful. We started with a plate of garlic knots with red sauce, which disappeared faster than we would have liked. My husband and I split a house salad, which was good but unremarkable. We ordered a smaller margherita pizza for our son and a larger Manhattan pizza with pears, arugula, and pepper dews for me and my husband. Both pizza were very good. Both the dough and tomato sauce at Genna are exceptional. The pear base on the Manhattan was a little sweet for my taste, though I eat a mostly sugar-free diet. The pears were balanced out by the spicy-sweet pepper dews, so I would get it again. Our son is a cannoli expert, as he has had homemade cannolis in over a dozen bakeries in New York and New Jersey. This night we had a salad, mozzarella sticks and an 18 inch pepperoni pizza ($27.99). We added garlic knots separate from the coupon. Mozzarella sticks were good with hot marinara. We shared the house salad. The lettuce had a purple hue to some of the pieces but it was cold and we ate it. Not bad but not the standard we have grown used to. Pizza a came out and was very hot and fresh. They use a coal fired oven and the bottom of the pie was pretty dark burnt even but not really sure if it was just coal dust. Place was hopping n a Monday evening at 7:30 PM. Dining area full with a variety of ages of couples, families and friends. Two phones constantly taking orders and delivery folks picking up in a steady stream as well. Menu is truly Italian and there are GF options for pizza dough. Nice variety of starters, salads, pasta dishes, pizza and desserts. Had an eggplant parm sub which was on a nice sub roll and perfect amounts of cheese and red sauce but the eggplant was very thin, overcooked and tough. The roll was too large for the portion. Got the Monday cheese pizza special recommended by one of the staff manning the phones and registers. They stayed on top of everything including communication with the cooks. If I could rate this restaurant on just its customer service, I would give it a solid five. We phoned in an order for a small pizza and two slices of Sicilian pizza. When I arrived the very conscientious waitress checked the box and realized they had forgotten to put cups in to prevent the cheese from adhering to the box. Before I could say a word she informed me they were making new slices and because the small pizza would be cold, they were remaking that as well. I would definitely recommend ordering a fresh pie as to opposed to getting only slices because the slices tend to be laying around and are dry and a few ask them for extra sauce they charge you. I will admit despite its popularity, I have never eaten at Genna Pizza (Company) until it was a locale on Geocaching's TMNT Pizza Geo-Tour created by the Lefferts Family. So far, all of their pizza stops have been phenomenal and with the exception of Marco's, all of them are local. I must give my regards to the Leffert's Family because Genna Pizza (Company) is phenomenal. It should be noted I came in along with my friends, Paula and Patrick, right after the 17th Annual Geocaching Picnic-In-The-Park at Wickham Park. The event had BBQ but we were hankering pizza, so that is what we got. Let me tell you, the two flavors of pizza we got were just perfecto! We had to start off strong so we ordered garlic knots. I usually discern how the rest of the meal will be by how they make their knots. Are they too big? Are they swimming in a pool of oil? Details like that. Though a bit bigger than my preference, the size was okay but the flavor was good. Not to mention, the bread was soft. I can already see why this restaurant has high marks among my fellow Yelpers. The pizza, we were told we can get half-and-half so that is what we did with the Manhattan and New Yorker. We split it up with two slices each and I have to say, WOW! The flavors matched perfectly with what you ordered and the biggest surprise to me was the Manhattan which I thought would be "too green" or "too vegan" for a pizza. Glad I was wrong. Trust me, try it out and see how delicious it is! We ended the meal with their version of sugar donuts which looked a lot like beignets. Good but I must stress they were no better or no worse than any other similar dessert at other places. A good powdered sugar donut is good no matter the locale. On a sidenote, the bathrooms were clean and well-stocked and the restaurant staff was attentive and friendly in terms of what you'd expect at a good restaurant to eat. Not Chick-fil-a service grade, but you don't have to be such as long as you're good. Chick-fil-a service grade is for those who want to... well... stand out. In conclusion, Genna Pizza (Company) will get a solid and surefire four out of five stars. As I mention in my other reviews, the fifth star is for consistency. Ergo, when I return and the food and service remain consistent as per my initial (this) visit, then Genna Pizza (Company) will earn its fifth star. P.S. - Genna Pizza is the fourth location on Geocaching's TMNT Pizza Geo-Trail. With that in mind, there is a geocache close to the restaurant, the fourth in six along the trail. read more

The food is fabulous. My friend and I came to eat dinner because the stuffed garlic knots were recommended to us . They are delicious and huge. We ordered 2 orders of three garlic knots, this order could easily feed 4 people. The Greek salad junior size is plenty for one person. Two days ago I received the nastiest pizza I've ever received in my entire life. Do not get the barbecue chicken. They poured the barbecue sauce not only on the bottom of the pizza but they poured it all across the top. It is literally swimming in barbecue sauce and completely inedible. When I called the guy said sorry don't know what to tell you that's how we make it. I called back and asked to speak to a manager. She did give me a refund, but she was rude to me as well. I am hearing impaired, and her background was loud. When I asked her o repeat she was VERY nasty about it.
