3/5 - This place is just okay, decent if you want a quick slice if you're visiting or coming from the beach. If you're a local, I wouldn't come back. The pies are nearly $30 and dripping in grease, not a big variety of slices, and it's all just /okay/. I got a caprese pizza with half sausage and it was mediocre. Everywhere does it different, didn't love this one. Got cheese fries and garlic knots with cheese. At least the garlic knots were pretty good upping this rating and can't mess up a cheese fry. For all of its really pretty ambience and authentic New York staff, PizzaVola is a nice restaurant, although I feel like the location doesn't match the inside. We did experience a unique incident where their system went down and they couldn't print a check. We were waiting a long time while they were trying to get their system back up and ultimately I had to hand write my credit card information and the server texted me when they finally had it running up later. Not their fault, totally understandable, and they were nice about it. It was a super long way before giving up, though, so it would've been nice if they offered some free dessert or comped an appetizer. The pizza itself is just another pizza. I didn't find anything outstanding or noteworthy about it. The size is huge so you get your moneys worth but eating a massive plate of nothing special still means eating nothing special. Here on vacation. Just awful. Walked in to a dining room full of dirty tables. Took an exceptionally long time to place an order. I don't mind waiting for food if it's good but my rigatoni bolognese was without a doubt the worst I've ever had. Tasted like ground beef thrown in a spicy red sauce. The pizza was okay and the spaghetti tolerable for a child. Then again an excessive wait for our check. The one woman working seemed to be doing 5 jobs so no time to do any one well. Went here for happy hour and after trying several other places this past week, this was by far one of the best if not the best. The server was absolutely head and shoulders above any we have had on our trip. The restaurant was clean and had a newer feeling rather than being a hole in the wall. I've been here several times since my parents live close by and they go a lot. Usually ordering the same thing. And honestly the food is pretty good. What is warranting the 1 star is their business practice. My dad noticed the meal seemed slightly more expensive. I went over to check the menu and told him the price. The waiter came and asked if everything is alright. My dad mentioned the price and the waiter said he didn't know the prices he just put it in the computer and that's the price it told him. He asked if we would like to speak to the manager. My dad said yes. The manager said corporate raised the prices but they haven't got the new menus in yet. And that was that. Nothing. The attitude was, well it was corporate and I guess that's the price now. So yeah, changing the price without informing your guests and making it your guest's problem is not great business. read more

Bottom Line: pizza is Personal. And personally, this is my favorite local pizza! I like a chewy crust and this place has it. One of the things that I really love is that you can order how you want your Pizza, Calzone or Stromboli cooked: Regular Bake, Lite Bake or Well Bake. Their white Pizza is delicious. I've tried several different combination fillings in their Calzone and Stromboli and been happy with all. I posted a pic of a Stromboli with Eggplant and you can see they give you plenty. It's an easy in and out set up in the strip mall they are in. They have a large dining area. I've only eaten there once with a group for lunch. I usually do take out. I ordered the cheese ravioli which was delicious - and a generous portion size - and my husband ordered the pepperoni pizza which was excellent as well. Can't pinpoint what made this sauce so good--just the right amount of creaminess, tomato, and a bit of bite with so many layers to the flavors. The thick rigatoni with its ridges helped maximize the amount of sauce per bite. 5 stars - Chicken marsala: standard dish done well with few breasts of chicken, medium sauce thickness, and sliced mushrooms. 4 stars - Meat pizza: my husband enjoyed his with a hearty portion and variety of meat and solid crispy crust. 4 stars - Plain pasta with chicken: ordered special for my son. 3.75 stars he says - Friendly staff: my friend who lives here orders from them frequently and they are always very welcoming. One star for this place. Ordered through Ubereats and it said it would be ready in 30 minutes to an hour (latest by 5:30 pm). Waited past 6:30 pm. When I called, they said "oh yeah the times in Uber eats aren't ever right- it'll be an hour" and the app still said "food ready for delivery " I called again later to cancel since it was taking so long and no updates- and they said their driver had several orders but was on his way. Told them if they are using Uber Eats they should update the app so their customers know. He refused and said he's too old to work the app. Then don't use this app for your business if you aren't going to use it properly! Unacceptable business practices. Good place to stop and grab pizza, only 1 block from the pier, definitely worth checking out, not busy for 6:30 dinner time on a Saturday, you can grab pizza by the slice to go or have a nice sit down dinner with the family. We had the pizza and garlic knots on the first visit and enjoyed it. Today we tried the chicken Marsala and eggplant rollatini. Neither were good. The Marsala sauce tasted burnt. The sauce on the eggplant tasted like it was straight from a can. I might go back for the pizza, but Definitely not getting anything else on the menu. Server was good and wearing a mask, but owner or manager who sat us had no mask or other covering on. Ordered a thin crust and got this. It's anything but a thin crust, when I shown the pizza maker the pie he said, yep I've been working here 5 years and that's a thin crust. My guess is his customers have been kind to him. He needs to order a thin crust from any other pizza place and expand his world. This is not a thin crust. We stopped by this little Italian restaurant because hubby wanted a meatball sandwich and I felt like having something good along that order. So I got an eggplant sub, and hubby ended up with his meatball sub. We took them to go and had them for our supper and they were delicious!!!! We had friendly, fast and efficient service. We don't live in this area, but we would return and definitely recommend coming here for something tasty in the Italian food genre. First ran into owner during the Taste of the Coast event. Finally made it. I had Veal Saltimbocca, very good. For the salad I got the house Balsamic Vinaigrette that I quite enjoyed. Wife got Chicken Francese, she was quite pleased with her choice. Other couple had Chicken Cacciatore (he said it was a bit spicy, I probably would have enjoyed it). And the final was Zuppa Di Clams in a white sauce. It was overflowing with beautiful small clams. No doggie bags were needed as we devoured everything. There are plenty of pizza spots around Cocoa beach but this one caught my attention because of its awesome yelp reviews :) Once again the yelp gods didn't let me down. Came here guns blazing ready to try what they have to offer. I placed an order for pick up online. Luckily I was called by one of the workers to let me know that they had received the order late and had just started making it. They added thirty minutes for pick up which was fine because I still had to check into my hotel. I ended up getting: grandmas pie, lasagna pizza, Hawaiian pizza, a chocolate cake, cheese bread, and NY cheesecake. I know.... we were hungry. My absolute favorite was the lasagna pizza. My hubby and I are hoping to try and recreate it. It was out of this world delicious. I don't like Hawaiian but that too was good. Grandmas pie was ok but I probably wouldn't order it again. I did see some customers who were picking up that pizza so I am assuming it is popular as well. The desserts were fantastic and the cheese bread was PHENOMENAL. I was really hungry for a slice. I walked in and the bad music was loud. But my hunger won, the waitress said she would turn down the awful music. So I ordered a slice and a beer. The slice was average at best, the music never stopped blaring and then when I got the bill I was presented with what is becoming a common site, the "3% to use a credit card" charge. WTH? Where was the disclosure about this before I ordered?? I am over it. After my slice I went to my bank and got $50 in pennies. Next time a place doesn't disclose the fee upfront (I will not frequent such a place) I will happily pay cash in pennies. Bet it costs them more than 3% to process my pennies. Their pizza was recommended by the hotel. Found their ordering interface (thru Yelp) on an iPhone too difficult, so I phoned in my order. Gal taking my phone order was super efficient making suggestions. I only got the small Hawaiian pizza and a bottle of water. With credit card fee and delivery fee, it was $19. On a busy Sunday of a holiday weekend, the 45 minute delivery time was great. Tipped the driver $5 for speed! I never noticed there were no napkins, no plates and no utensils. When I ordered I said I was staying at a hotel. Guess I should have requested these? I am just used to always getting minimally napkins when I order pizza elsewhere.
