*INITIAL REVIEW* I was leaving Pau Hana Kava Bar to continue my kava bar sprint northbound on Wickham Rd., but it was lunchtime and I was hankering some food. Mimmo's Pizza and Ristorante (which I will shorthand it to Mimmo's) was always on my "to go" list ever since many of them replaced many Bizzaro's Pizzarias (Two "Z's," not one). This was a good time to actually try Mimmo's, right? I mean, why not? First and foremost, this restaruant used to be Sweet Tomatoes, not associated to the awesome salad buffet in Orlando. On the outside, the restaurant looks like any other restaurant that takes over this kind of building. Inside, it definitely has the Italian home vibes. Think of red and white checkerboard table clothes, Italian flags, wine bottle holders and the like. If you ever been to any Italian restaurant, especially one that utilizes the "family tradition" or "mom n' pop" feel, then you already know the menu. Pizza slices, garlic knots, and Italian dinners such as spaghetti, parmesian, and ziti... guaranteed to be baked in a stone oven. I did not know the pizza slices were large, and I ended up getting two. I ate parts of both and I will say they are a-okay. They don't stand out, but they are good. Wouldn't mind eating these kinds of slices again. Pricewise, the food is average across the board even if you compare it to other Italian restaurants of this same ilk. Not saying it is good or bad, just not really a standout. Not below average. Just... average. On a sidenote, the service was decently kind and the restroom, well the men's restroom, was clean and stocked. Ergo, I am going to give this Mimmo's three-out-of-five stars. Average across the board, which doesn't mean it is bad nor good... just is. This means I will not purposely seek out this Mimmo's if I am ever hankering Italian food, but if I am hankering such food and this Mimmo's happens to be convenient, I wouldn't mind eating here. Just not expecting anything more or less than what I got. read more

Was in the mood for lasagna so my brother suggested we check this place out. When we arrived there was only one other party, so service was prompt and attentive. I got the lasagna with italian wedding soup to start. Neither were great, but scratched the itch. I would come back to try other items, but I think I'll pass on the lasagna. read more

We traveled here to Mimmos Pizza . from Kissimmee, to try their Pizza and Garlic knots. About a hour drive. We ordered the large regular cheese pizza and couple orders of Garlic Knots. The pizza was really good, worth the trip. For the Garlic Knots it wasn't hot or soft enough. But the garlic and Parmesan cheese and Olive oil or butter was tasty. Will we come back ...of course. This is another pizza spot in Melbourne Fl we will visit to. Recommends this place a try. The service was friendly. We were seated with menus and served our first slice to each of us. We had not come back here for a while and soo glad that we did. If you had a bad experience years ago, don't let that keep you away. Tonight was amazing! We ordered mimmos special, three pasta dishes, chicken wings, garlic knots, two desserts, three beers and soft drinks and it was under $150. For a family of five that is hard to find. The pesto is a stand out to me but everything we ordered was fantastic. We had great service as well. A little slow to get to us after we got seated, but after that we wanted for nothing. I've ordered delivery from here multiple times from Uber Eats and I'm usually really satisfied with what I order. Tonight I had a calzone which was the perfect amount of mozzarella and ricotta. I also got BOGO garlic knots but I feel they were slightly undercooked. They deliver beer too so I ordered a few Birra Italia bottles. Great beer, highly recommend! Their white pizza and margherita pizza are also pretty good. We ordered the Sicilian before and I wouldn't order it again. The dough was very dense and dry. The whole pizza was chewy and hard to eat. Overall I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here but it's convenient for delivery and their prices are super reasonable. read more

I have been in Melbourne visiting and have been searching for a good Italian spot near our hotel. We drove past Mimmos and saw a full parking lot so we stopped in for dinner. The staff was friendly, the place was super clean and packed full of families and couples enjoying a night out. Our meal came with garlic knots and a choice of soup or salad. My brother had spaghetti and meatballs and I had the lasagna. The food was delicious and compared to pasta we'd had when we were in Italy. I'm so glad we found this little spot. They deserve the 5 star. Ordered a large pepperoni and meatball cheese pizza and it is excellent. Home made meatballs, great NY style pizza dough, sauce is 100% on the spot. Pizza was 18" plus edges didn't quite fit the box just like my favorite Greenlawn, Long Island pizza place, Paul's. Place is clean, windows clear view of outside makes it look fresh and new. I've ordered food from this place several times, first few times the food great, but the last 2 times the pizza was terrible, last nights pizza was dry, salty, and seemed to lack cheese. I hate to give bad reviews but this one had to be written. I bought an 18" cheese pizza with 1/2 meatball on it. The girl was rude at the counter. We got the pie home, burnt on the bottom, cold and tasteless. It tasted like they took a pie that was previously made, threw meatball (by the way the meatballs were disgusting and I literally spit it out in the garbage) on and put it back in oven. It was like cardboard!! We had to laugh cause when we picked up the piece it stood straight out. OMG!! Please don't waste your time or money. Go to Bella Luna in Melbourne. I wanted to like it. they are super nice, quick to fix my pickup order, as I was missing a soup, but the pasta fagioli was bad. i thought there was supposed to be meat and dittalini pasta in it. it was chicken broth, tomato juice, onions, tomatoes, and beans--that's it. I looked up good take out in the area, decided on some diner. I got there, it looked terrible, and I saw this gem next to it. I'm a foodie, I'm particular and I don't like to waste my time, calories and money on something sub par, so I don't usually just see a place and go in. But, places were closing and I was starving. My dad grew up in the Italian section of Brooklyn, in an apartment building where he said all the Italian women would compete to be the best cook. He said he remembers his building always smelling like heaven. I lived in NYC for years... always searching out those places... the families from Italy who were in love with food and cooking and luckily for the rest of the world, they were willing to share it. This is it. If you're not a foodie, please don't review this place. It's just not fair... this place is exceptional.... Now when I say that, I don't mean black tie, perfect service, etc. I mean that it is like you walking into your Italian best friend's house when you were growing up... the family is there, the people treat you like family, that all is fantastic. I do not like to give bad reviews, however my dinner was bad. The lasagna I had taste just like Stouffer's microwave dish. But that's not the worst part of my dinner. The 4 teens sitting at the bar across form us which 3 seem to work there. We're so loud talking about how some boy robbed one of them or stole from them, me and my wife couldn't have a conversation due to them trying to talk over each other. Very unprofessional. The response I received was "I wasn't there when the animal was slaughtered so I really don't know." We were regulars at mimmo's pizza for about a year now happily doing a forty minute drive for our usual gluten free and cauliflowers pizza. When the waitress brings out our usuals 10 inch gluten free and 10 inch cauliflower pizza my pizza was definitely not a 10 inch. When my wife asked the waitress whom KNOWS us and has SERVED us this same order before "Is this a 10 inch pizza?" the waitress answered yes went back to ask the staff of youngsters and she returns with the SAME pizza and stated, "Yes it is a 10 inch pizza he said it just SHRUNK." I then stated that we've come here plenty of times before and this has NEVER happened. She just stared at us with no response. What's worse, the OWNER was sitting right in front of us SAW and HEARD the matter and did NOTHING to resolve this. He did NOT interject nor reorder his staff to make another pizza. Again, until now my wife and I happily and regularly driving forty minutes for our favorite pizza but the disappointment and disbelief was beyond. Terrible customer service and rude manager with 2 foot long fake eyelashes. Ordered a large pizza with mushrooms and they put the mushrooms on after the pizza was cooked-cold hard mushrooms.
