Veal Parmigiana
Maria A.

Been coming to Brooklyn to pickup takeout since we moved to the area a couple of years ago. I thought I had reviewed them then but I cant find my review. Anyway, we dined there again on Sunday. Great service, great food. I love their eggplant parmigiana and my kids like their pizza. Definitely a gem in the viera neighborhood.

Tour of Brooklyn - Lasagna, cheese manicotti, rigatoni, one meatball and one sausage. Comes with side salad and two garlic knots.

First time in tonight and let me start by saying how refreshing it was to walk into a packed house bursting with Italian dinner music and the hum of dinner conversation. And don't get me started on the aroma of fresh baked Italian food wafting in the air. Ordered the Tour of Brooklyn which included lasagna, cheese manicotti, rigatoni as well as one meatball and a sausage. Also came with side salad and two garlic knots. My husband ordered a chicken parm sub. All of the food was served piping hot and fresh. The red sauce is amazing. The bread and chicken on the sub was delicious. I enjoyed my meal and could only finish half. We brought home enough to have dinner tomorrow. Great garlic knots. The server was so kind and efficient and kept our drinks full. We ordered cannolis to go for later. The restaurant was clean. Smoke parking outside. The turned the tables to keep the wait time for others low. I think I have found my new place for pasta and pizza since moving down from the ATL. Such a homey feel. Don't hesitate to check this place out. We will be back.

Italian beef with gardinera

Have been here several times to get various things including Pizza, subs, etc... Last night we went for dinner and it really blew our socks off! I got the Chicken Sorrento and my wife got an Italian Beef sandwich. First off I loved my Chicken Sorrento, it was full of flavor and had plenty on the plate! Definitely enough to get two full dinners from. My wife ordered Italian beef and got it with gardinera. She loved it and let me try and I can confirm it was great. My daughter got a slice of pizza and it is always on point. I would definitely recommend them for anything but definitely give the dinners a shot sometime. Will definitely go back.

$4 for a huge slice of cheese pizza. Totally recommend this place. The pizza was bigger than my head! The place was packed on a Sunday night. I could tell it's a neighborhood favorite. The walls are covered in funny pictures. Definitely a great spot for a quick bite, date, or family dinner!

Awesome Italian themed restaurant in the middle of a quiet shopping plaza. Once you walk in every single table is taken and I totally understand why with the amazing food. They have all types of Italian dishes including large Brooklyn style pizza, chicken parmigiana, cannolis for dessert and more! I ordered a large Brooklyn pizza that is bigger than your head. My husband was able to get a gluten free pizza which he enjoyed. My only suggestion would be to offer vegan cheese. They also have a great/affordable kids menu. My son got noodles and butter. Overall it was a great visit. The pizza slices are very fairly priced. I came back and enjoyed a piece for lunch another day.

Garlic knots

Visited for a weekday lunch on the recommendation of a coworker. So glad we went with our gut and trusted his recommendation. The dining room was buzzing with a good amount of patrons by noon but still had a number of empty tables so seating was fast and easy. We were greeted promptly and were brought drinks fast. My friend ordered stuffed mushrooms and chicken Sorrento. She considers herself a "stuffed mushroom connoisseur" and said these were easily the BEST stuffed mushrooms she has ever had. She ate the whole appetizer without planning to! She loved her chicken sorrento and my chicken piccata was so tasty! The chicken and pasta were perfectly cooked, the lemon butter sauce had great flavor and the capers were great! If I'm being honest, the garlic knots were "ok, not the best but not horrible. I would have liked more butter and garlic, they were a little dry for my liking. We got to meet Robin, the owner, who was so sweet and gracious! This felt like a classic Brooklyn neighborhood pizza joint and I'm here for it!!

This is such a good spot. Food is freshly made. Ambiance is all about a New York vibe. You feel the Italian influence, the New York flare, and the owner's demand for high quality food. The service is consistent, the wait staff are always respectful, and my favorite part: they are real. You won't be disappointed.

Had the Sicilian pizza and stuffed mushrooms, outstanding! Place was packed on a Sunday evening!

Pizza looked and smelled so good we dug into the pie before I remembered to take a pic. It did not disappoint!

The pizza was great. The salads were awesome and the top it off the cannolis were first class.

The best Stromboli I've had. The dough is amazing, the fillings are definitely quality, and the marinara is excellent.

But someone left a small table and they cleaned it and i sat. Server came over pretty quickly and said he'd be with me in a minutes. However, 10 minutes later he's cleared 2 tables (no one waiting to sit) and cashed out another check-all of which could have been done after taking and putting in my order. But, okay, nice guy and no real harm done. I'm just tired and cranky and hangry. Got a glass of Cabernet. I don't know why. This isn't a fancy restaurant and the wine tastes like it. Figured it would help me go to bed early for the race but first i have to be able to swallow it. Still, my fault, why did i order it in the first place? Stick with water soda or beer. Ordered mussels which apparently you can get in a white or red wine sauce. Missed that on the menu but i went with a white wine sauce. Also got the gluten free 10" pizza. So they both came out at the same time which is as bull because now one will get cold as i eat the other. I told the server that the mussels were an appetizer. He said they took a while because the shells wouldn't open-not a good sign considering i have an early morning and food poisoning won't help. The mussels were bad. I ate them, being a fat hungry man, but they were dry, the sauce was not flavorful, and half the shells were still closed. Now, shockingly, the pizza was very good. One of the better gluten free crusts i have had anywhere. I was sure i would take one bite and just give up but no. I really enjoyed the pizza. Weird. So I probably would have gone 2 stars for the bad, but friendly, service and awfully timed serving and awful tasting mussels and wine. But i have to go 3 for the pizza. And really, what am i doing ordering mussels and wine at a strip mall pizzeria? I must have lost my mind. Should have been pizza, and maybe soup or a salad. Might have been 4 stars if i had ordered with an acknowledgment of where i was. So, if you are gluten free, come here. I wouldn't if you are allergic or have celiac disease-there is surely cross contamination. But if you just don't like getting bloated and uncomfortable, you will enjoy the pizza.

We were shown to our table. My wife ordered a dinner salad, she was told the dressing was garlic ranch. Since it was the only option she asked to bring olive oil. That was fine, but halfway through our meal I overheard a different waiter at another table say the choice of dressing for the salad was garlic ranch or vinegarette. Another "oversight". The waiter seemed nice. Later we realized when our food arrived that all of the tables seated after us were served bread with herb butter. I didn't complain but thought it was an oversight on the part of the waiter. I asked if the spaghetti and meatballs were good, the waiter said yes, very good. I decided to give it a try, the spaghetti was ok, but hadn't been properly sauced, it was as though the sauce was just dumped in the center with two meatballs. The sauce tasted like garlic and tomatoes, hardly any other flavor such as oregano or basil. The meatballs had far too much Italian flavored breadcrumbs and tasted like a meat-bread ball. The house salad my wife received and my side salad were pretty sad. Lettuce, 2 slices of cucumber, a small slice of tomato, and some shredded carrots. For a house salad at an Italian restaurant, it seemed pretty sparse. I expected an olive maybe, and / or a slice of onion, maybe a slice of green pepper, or a cruton or two? Go figure. Overall was disappointed, eveything about the restaurant decor gave me the first impression that it would be better. Coming from an Italian American family I know good Italian food when I taste. I know flavorful sauce and I know what a real homemade meatball should taste like. Perhaps other dishes and perhaps other wait staff are better. IMO there are better choices for Italian food in the area, doubtful I will be back to try something different.
